May 10, 2007
My dear Mr. Sunil Gangopadhyay,
I am writing to you with regard to an article that appeared in the Outlook magazine of 7th May, 2007. The article titled “The Big Belittling” talked about the Bachchans’ big-banner ritualism as a travesty of Harivanshrai’s legacy. It carried your quotes on the issue rather prominently. I am enclosing the said article as an attachment for your benefit.
I have decided to respond after much care, for one single overriding reason. I respond as a father for the sake of protecting my son and my new daughter, and my family in general, from what I consider to be unjust treatment.
I am appalled that a person of your eminence could be so convincingly entrapped into commenting on a completely incorrect, malicious, vile and frivolous gossip.
The basis of the article in question has been the purported ritualism that my family and I went through during the lead up to the wedding of my son Abhishek with Aishwarya. Nothing that you may have read or heard in this regard is true. Whatever has appeared, is a collection of dirty and malicious lies.
The whole issue of the Manglik and the subsequent astrological mumbo-jumbo has been something that we have not even been aware of. We came to learn of it from the media. Aishwarya is in my, my family’s and hopefully her own view, an absolute blessing in our lives. I can hardly believe that anyone would think to the contrary. The allegation that we have been running from temple to temple trying to lift a Manglik curse is ridiculous and amusing. I reiterate my refusal of this allegation as having the slightest reality.
Aishwarya has not married one tree, or two or three. She has married my son.
Temple visits are something we regularly do as a family: it is meaningful for us. We are Hindu.
In their frustration of being unable to find a credible angle to our temple visits the media has deliberately given the story this ugly color, with the sole intent of provoking us into a response. A response, unfortunately for them, not forthcoming from us. It is not mandatory that we do. I cannot be expected to give clarifications and denials to every bit of rubbish that is brought out in the public domain. I have better things to do. Also it is not my prerogative. But it is their prerogative to bring tangible proof and convincing evidence about any allegation they make.
I know not who these publicity seeking, unknown, self-styled ‘priests’ and ‘pundits’ are and I have no interest in them or their promulgations.
Show me the tree that she has been married to. Bring this priest in front of me. Justify your claim. This is my challenge.
I consider it an act of cowardice on the part of those that constructed the article in question, to have included elements of my father’s work. He is not alive today to provide what particular advice he could give me for the situation in which I find myself, nor comment on the use of his own words against his own son. As he now cannot do for me, so I must do for the sake of Abhishek.
‘Don’t pray, don’t pray, don’t pray.” They quote.
It is this very quote, on reflection, that convinced me of my resolve to respond. For me these words have always meant, “Act, take action !”. And so I follow him.
I do indeed acknowledge the more serious concerns raised by those with a voice in the public sphere in India with regard to the potential cultural significance and ramifications of the most private acts of the most public individuals, particularly when India is passing through a time of exciting change and dramatic flux, both within its borders and also within a wider global context.
I also acknowledge that the spheres of the public and private are strenuously contested in the modern world, as I believe they should be and should always be so, open to change and modification of their boundaries. This is essential for the sake of transparency against corruption and also to maintain a healthy culture of civic ethics. Public identities are always thus contested, between the public and private spheres, and within the public sphere itself. The same applies to private ones, for that matter. But public and private identities simply cannot be wholly collapsed into each other, for that would create injustice: they are two distinct kinds of identities for good reason.
I believe in the collective right to freedom of information as much as I do the individual right to privacy. But it is the ambit of our democratically elected representatives to debate the particular balance of these rights at any given time and adjust them to correspond, in formal law, with the particular values and circumstances of our civic culture.
I am not in a position that would give justification to my personal views on the subject. Thus I remain silent.
I am, all the same, aware that it is for all of us our duty as citizens to preserve a civic ethic of responsibility to protect these defined rights. I have thus tried to act accordingly as an individual, with what success I do not know. By contrast, I do feel that we owe much gratitude to the professional media in this country. Its individual journalists, writers and reporters are the greatest champions of our freedoms. I do believe that the Indian media is responsible to our democratic and liberal way of life in this great nation. A free media must also be a just and fair media, where there is a clear distinction between private opinion and public rational argument, where their information is soundly verified by factual evidence, where there is a judicious balance of debate. I salute their ideals and achievements.
I would also like to say that I do take note of the particular focus of some in the media on my private religious practice and beliefs. I am always keen to learn, but regardless of its welcome personal educative content on the subject of more abstruse rites and rituals, I can appreciate the greater concern regarding the possibility of their wider cultural ramifications, although I would add that I have absolutely no intent to set a wider example by my private acts of devotion. However, I am also aware that intent is not enough.
It is more than a possibility that all complex and diverse societies with a secular state are equally fragile, where the principles of mutual tolerance and mutual respect that sustain peaceful co-existence between different religious and cultural communities within the whole must be renewed constantly in practice. Eternal vigilance is indeed the price of freedom, of all manner of freedoms, and so any apparent sign of public sectarian tendencies must indeed be treated as a serious concern. Nevertheless, I am aware that one must equally guard against the pursuit of vigilance with excessive enthusiasm.
Therefore, to strengthen mere intent and clear any misunderstanding on the issue, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly affirm my loyalty, not only to the profoundly democratic society and liberal culture, but also to the secular state, of India. As I think a secular state a necessity in order to preserve the right of the individual to their private religion or to none at all, so I will refrain from discussing my own religious beliefs and practices in my public capacity. And so, I remain silent.
The public in general is free to draw what conclusions it may, based on accurate fact, or hearsay, or even the most surreal rumour. They are free to choose whom they believe and trust, for after all, there is more than one newspaper, journal, news channel or website at their disposal. They are free to seek the truth, or to seek entertainment, as they wish.
Mr. Gangopadhyay your prominent quote in the article under question along with your photograph states: “The family gives huge donations routinely to temples. Any sane person would donate money to charities instead”.
Might I ask you sir where you have ascertained this information from? Would you be kind enough to enumerate the temples as well as the sums of money purported to have been donated?
I would be interested in facts and figures with some elements of justification.
I have always maintained that charity needs to be done, not talked of. But since it has been brought up, with some impertinence, might I clarify the donation at Tirupati, since our visit to this shrine has recently been projected in the news. I have been wanting to make this donation for some years. The occasion of the marriage of Aishwarya to my son seemed to me the appropriate moment to make a gift of thanks for the great blessings of my family.
The temple runs various trust funds for a number of charitable purposes, including those of education and health care. I chose to contribute quite a significant sum to the feeding, free of cost, of thirty thousand of the poor. This is a task that the temple undertakes each and every day. My reasons for choosing this particular fund for my donation are, I think, self-evident: before one can dream of improving the lot of the poor in this country, one must simply keep people alive.
You also quote in the article: “Amitabh Bachchan seemed to behave like an uneducated and illiterate person, the repository of outdated superstitions and dark beliefs, which dosen’t behove him at all”.
I admit I am uneducated and illiterate, lacking grace and culture, but I also admit that I am my father’s son. He wrote –
“Hum hain unke saath, khadhi jo seedhee rakthtey apni reedh”
I am with those that stand with their spine stretched straight !
I stand here in front of you and the world, straight. Come on ! Bring it on ! Face me !
You sir, are a writer of eminence. I grew up under the shadow of my father a writer too, of some eminence. My respect and regard for you therefore would be no different from that which I have for my father. But it is with a sad heart I conclude, how an intellectual mind such as yours has been so wastefully used.
I write this to you in absolute confidence. I would wish that you keep this communication private.
Respectfully and with warm regards,
Amitabh Bachchan

Dear Mr Bachchan - very well written, no matter how public of a figure you are… it is no one’s business to comment on your private and personal life. It is sad that media in India would not even spare a persons religious belief alone… all they care about is “breaking news” to get viewer ship at the cost of real people’s real lives.
Thank you for taking the time to write and clarify your position for people like us who really look up to you, this means a lot!
Thanks,
Hitesh & Renu
P.S On a lighter note - My wife Renu is your biggest fan (i know everyone is “biggest” fan
she really admires your work). Also if possible please post when will you be traveling to NY we would love to get an autograph

Dear Amit Uncle,
I do very clearly recall this Outlook piece. It’s quite clear that the journalist was a man of utter poor judgment. His perspectives are limited and his perception of your words are mistaken and disillusioned. The honesty and sincerity in your responses are proof of your loyalty and vow to humanitarianism.
“I admit I am uneducated and illiterate, lacking grace and culture…”
I sit here and speak with candor and truth - The humility in your actions, the beauty of your spirit, and the greatness of your legacy prove you to be amongst the most educated men in the world, whose grace of compassion are unequaled in today’s world - This, and this alone ranks you amongst the most deeply rooted and cultured individuals in India, and the world. Your family, friends, and fans know who you are, and are quite aware of the misrepresentation that takes place in the OUTLOOK piece.
Sir, I’ve also commented on your Day 2 post - If it’s in any way possible, please glance over it. However, I understand if it’s not…

Is this for real? I am thrilled to read articles from AmitJi himself.
This is Deepa writing to you from NYC — I am 28 and have been here since 1 year…
Incidentally like you left Allahabad in search of a life..i left India in quest of my career and in many ways my own self.
Anyway..without turning this into an autobiography of myself,Let me just say that irrespective of what the media says,To me,Your family is the strongest example of how one must learn to conduct oneself in professional and personal life — Everytime I am faced with a tough situation,I turn to examples of Yourself and Your family and take courage that no matter what tough times will only last for so long..and dignity is the only answer to approaching any situation. And as for media attacking your personal life,You are absolutely justified in keeping your personal life and all occasions meant for your family as private as you can — Noone has any right to question that.
I hope and pray your family stays happy — ALL THE VERY BEST for the upcoming tour –
I must say that once years back in Mumbai airport,I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of you and SRK (was probably the shooting of mohabbatein) — but never really managed to come up and make small talk with you.I hope this time around,I get to !
Warmest Regards
Deepa

Dear Mr. Amitabh Bachchan,
I came to know about Mr Aamir Khan’s blog last week. I liked reading his posts there and that time itself I tried searching for your blog. I didn’t find it and was very disappointed. It was a like a wish coming true when y’day my wife mentioned to me that she came across a news piece mentioning your blog. I have read your current posts and will continue to do so.
Reading your posts with no media (newspapers, TV channels, etc)’s role in between is like reaching a lotus without touching its surrounding muddy swamp.
Your time and effort spent on this blog to reach the general public is much appreciated.

Dear Amit ji,
I think it really requires great patience & your level of magnanimity to keep one’s cool amidst such allegations & totally ‘uncalled for pampering’ by various statements/writings/news etc etc.Its alright that being a public figure you might have always faced some public interference & many of which might have been pleasant for you too.You have tackled every issue, every response so gracefully that your position in the hearts of common Indian only strengthened.
In the past few years with the opening of Indian Economy,in order to survive & flourish media also had gone from being a watchdog of society to become a seller of news in the Big Indian Bazar. And that is the simple reason behind all these, its more about the writer’s monetary value & magazines circulation figures than its about Amitabh Bachhan.Actually the writings are not about Amitabh, its about a name which gets their news/writings watched & read by more people. It can be any name, today its you, tomorrow someone else.
But what they are not realising is that these tacts has got their reliability quotient drastically low.I remember the Doordarshan Days, anything which is shown has to be true and now there are so many but we don’t immediately believe what they say now.The same spice given by most in the market over & over again & claiming their own “Exclusive”.
So its ok if you can slap back,& its even ok if you don’t respond to what “Bachhan Spice” they are selling in the market, people who understand will understand that too and those who don’t understand….you shouldn’t be bothered about.
I wanted to share much more but its unfair on my part to take so much of your time.I have the 1st issue of ‘Aha Zindagi’ & i use it time to time to motivate myself & to keep going.More than your movie side i am impressed by the kind of person you have made of yourself.
Keep going.Best Wishesh-

You are started this blog which would be only one medium where general public can communicate with you. With this blog people can understand your feelings, thinking, emotion and personal attribute.
You are a very honest towards your personal life as well as your professional life. You have found right person for your son. She is very emotional, carrying good by nature as well as professional like you.
I have been acting for many serials and films which may be around 45 serials and 5 films. I have learned a lot from this profession. Latest to latest my coming Bhojpuri film “CHODAB NA SANG TOHAAR†would be release within 1 month time. It was a good learning experience for me. I have been waiting for more good roles to come.
I have been praying to God, only one time opportunity to work with you. Except that I don’t have any other wishes in this film industry.
Hoping for your reply as early as possible.

Hello,
after reading this letter of yours, there are some things im curious to ask you & a few things that i feel, that i would liket o express.
1. the letter shows your command over the language and a gift of the pen. the letter is very articulate & well written.
2. the letter is too long & in the middle talks about unecessary things which are probably not in context like the para about “complex societies”.
3. reading your long letter - you remind me of my grandfather. i also see him writing similar letters
4. about donating to tirupati devasthanam - this is your personal view & donation & no one has a right to comment on it. if I were to make a donation to a temple - i would just make sure that it goes to the right area/fundand not in decorating the temple, adding gold to the top layer of the temple, jewellery to the god etc. this in my opinion is not required. unfortunately alot of the donations in such huge temples are used to beatify the temple & the idols.
5. finally, I would like to re-iterate that reading your blogs makes me respect you even more & shows thevery emotional person within you.
do keep up the good work & all the best.

Dear Bachchanji,
It is often said that this industry lacks new blood and we don’t have originality here. Instead of worrying about all this meaningless issues of temples and politics, don’t you think you should contribute something to the cinema industry than all these pointless bickering which is way below your dignity?
Agreed that you tried to do something with ABCL but more than a honest effort to encourage good cinema, it seemed like a get-rich-quick corporate scheme. Don’t you feel that you have a duty towards Indian cinema now that you are treated as it’s headman?
Okay, you struggled a lot…even with a recommendation letter from the Gandhi’s. You should understand better about the trials and tribulations of cinema workers…have you ever encouraged any new comer with brilliant ideas ? Have you ever backed a young man who has the potential? Sadly…no..You only sign up movies that are made by your friends or your son’s friends….or some influential adfilm makers who got you plum ad assignments….
As the big man of Indian Cinema, don’t you feel that people should remember and recognize you as someone who’s dedicated his whole life to cinema? Like Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, we want our future generations to be proud of you…We don’t want you to stoop to the level of Raj Thackarey’s and other such frivolous issues…Just look at the bigger picture….

As a person of Indian ancestory, I (and especially my Dad) have been always inspired by your movies. Your personal life should have little bearing on your phenomenal talent and the attitude of the scandal hungry public simply highlights serious problems in certain sectors of the poplulation.
I can only sympathesize with your predicament but be assured that outside of India, such rubbish is not tolerated. You are good actor and a lot of your movies have inspired me and that is all that matters. Your personal life is exactly that: personal.

Mr. Bachchan I must commend you sincerely on the dignified way in which you have carried yourself through this, and other, ordeals.
Unfortunately I think our society is going through a phase where “anything goes” in journalism, and sensationalism takes precedence over fact-checking.
I for one am glad to read your blog entries to hear your side of the story.
I guess because you are the country’s biggest “celebrity” the media feels that it has carte blanche in dissecting every single thing you and your family do. This, in my opinion, is completely wrong. But I guess it’s just the nature of the beast.
I wish discussions would be left to your great body of acting work…
Anyways kudos to you and your family for leading the way by example, you are dignity personified

Dear Amitji
Your act of publishing this article in this blog would really do a world of good for your family and fans.Even as your ardent admirer i was drawn into this controversy surrounding your blind religious failth, etc. This article comes as a breather and clarifies matter once for all. Am penning down what i felt makes your reply important
Your tone of appreciation and admiration to eminent writer Sunil Gangopadhyaya equating him with your father.
Deep respect of freedom of speech of citizen of India..I would say as the most looked for personality of India, you have learnt the art of handling the rumours which follow you more often than the thoughts which gets generated in your mind.
Your careful apprehension of the public portrayal of your private life
Your deep respect and revenrence for your father and efforts to continue in his path.
Your fatherly attitude towards abhishek and ash.
Your deep religious endowment and family heritage.
Clearly standing up for public personality who may not at all times be able to distance themselves from media rumours.
Sending a direct message to media house to ensure that they maintian the intergrity and ethics, they have worked for.
I should say your father’s literal genius had caught with you.
Humility in accepting what you do not know
FInally, your love for your country and respect for its law.
I now understand how the son of Harivansh Rai Bachnan is able to maintain a composure when his private profile is thrown out in open by many who like to make full gains out of it.THis is an ample proof to justify why you chose to write.Writing would bring out your frustrations, feelings, liking and dislikings in expressable and digestable way.
All the very best

Hello Mr. Bachchan,
I am find this whole experience surreal; being able to communicate with my most respected public figure. I have always admired the way you carry yourself with dignity and fortunately your whole family does the same. Your performance as an actor is one of the reasons I, as a non-desi fan, continue to love Bollywood films and I pray more grease to your elbow.
Straying from the general theme of most of the messages so far, The one qu. I have ALWAYS wanted to ask you and never thought i would get the chance to is: Where you aware that the film EK Ajnabee was a direct copy of another film before you signed on to do it?
I abhor that film simply because it plagiarism at its extreme! Your performance in it was one of your strongest but that is ruined for me by the nature of the film. I have never understand how an accomplished actor as yourself came to be involved with such a `crime`.
On a lighter note, Is this feasible?! Replying to what will be hoards of your faithful and appreciative fans? Well, your intentions are good and your efforts admired.

Dear Mr Bachchan,
First of all I do thank you a lot to give us the opportunity to contact u directly.I t is also a great pleasure to read your comment. Any way, I am studying Bar-at-Law course in London now. I am a big fan of u , Ash and Avi. Actually u and Ash showed that hard work and motivation in early life can reach one to the apex of dignity and power in the future. This is natural to publish false news about u and Ash as u are standing in a center of interest of people and some magazins and papers are making money by using u. Plz just ignore it. And also ignore the minority people who used this website to contact u to fulfil their financial interest …….I felt soooo embarrassed when I read that some one called u father and in the next step was begging for money!!!!People should have a minimum portion of self respect…But apart frm that this web site is nice. Plz give my respect to Ash . The funny thing is ,as I am still unmarried of 28, when my mom asks me to get married, I tell her, look at Ash, she married at 33, but as she is established and reputed, her parents-in -law give her so much respect……so let me be established, then people will not look at my age, only will look at my education, position and honesty. So thank u Mr Bachchan for giving her soo much care and respect. Wish u all the best.
Kind Regards,

Sir,
I have been a great fan of yours for so long.
I dont understand why someone needs to comment of someone elses personal life, what he she believed (Relegious or otherwise), its everyones own choice to do as they wish and no MAG (outlook or others) should comment on anyones personal believes/lives.
There are people who believe in reading horoscopes , mangalik et all, whats wrong in that. Its their own life and they believe in things they want to.
That outlook article was sic.
I loved the way you responded, although i would have loved to see you say “you dont believe, but whats the problem with people who do”.
Anyways
Best wishes with blogging

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
It was a delight and pleasure to know that you have started blogging. For reasons unfortunate, in this country there has always been gaps created by system between common men and public figures, whether celebrities or others. I distinctly remember the “Outlook Issue” which carried unwanted, baseless and non-sensical remarks over the whole issue of you and your family performing rituals and rites. It was futher more astonishing that some of the well-known figures of the country who are acclaimed as intellectuals sided with “Outlook”, may be for some more publicity. I call them “Pseudo-intellectuals.” I have read all your replies. I would go a step further than you. Even assuming but not conceding you performed all rituals as claimed by Outlook, who the hell these people are comment on that. In this country we all have fundamental right and liberty to express our beliefs and thoughts unless it jeopardises anyone’s interest. I do not know for what reason and how interests of people like Dr. Mrinal Sen or Mr. Sunil Gangopadhyay was at stake if you visit Tirupati and perform rituals. C’mon, grow up Dr. Sen, just dont behave like a new-born baby.
Perhaps all these gentlemen are too jealous of the mass-affection, love and attention you command. Therefore, Sir, just dont be hurt by their stupid remarks. Let them bark. Plz carry on your good work.
Yours sincerely,
Parth
P.S.– I will not claim that I am your biggest fan almost every cvinema-goer claims so. Therefore, the gravityof this sentence has perhaps decreased. However, if ever you need any of the newspaper clippings (The Hindu, Times of India, Hindustan Times) writing about you since year 2000, plz do write to me. I just cant imagine silver screen without you. I wish someday if I can meet you.

Dear Mr. Bachchan
I read your response. This is understandable. But I think instead of trying to respond to all these vicious comments on you or or your family, as your fan, I will request you to set the agenda of your blog yourself. We would be interested in knowing about your childhood reminiscences, your take on the India vs. Bharat, your view on the way Indian Cinema is developing–how much is substantial in it– and on anything. Why to exert your time and energy on these comments that you have very gracefully avoided all these years.
By the way, one thing that always interests me is that do you think that you are ‘rich’ and ‘famous’ enough? As a person, we all crave for somebody else’s riches and their fame. Do you think that now you have outgrown all these aspirations–either because you have become too mature and seen and done them all, or may be because you think that you have achieved them all–all fame, all name and perhaps all riches!
Please Respond to this only if you find it worth responding, otherwise…no point…
best and regards

Dear Sir,
Have been wanting to post a comment since 2-3 days now, but, to be very frank, I don’t know how to address you or what to write.
Have grown up watching your movies..you’ve always been the SuperStar..always held you in the highest esteem and continue to do so. The dignity with which you conduct yourself in anything you do is just awesome.
I have never in my wildest imaginations, thought that I would be writing a note addressing it to you and with a possibility that you may read it.
I just find myself too inadequate to do that!
As I read your blog…feels like you are actually writing to each one of us.
All I can say is this is absolutely fantastic.
Wishing you all the very best and hoping to see your views here for years to come.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
Yet again instances of un-neccessary public scrutiny and review of a public figure. As you have mentioned many a times before, in these trying time and “software hungry” news channel, the need for privacy for a public personality is fast becoming a luxury.
It is amazing perhaps to understand those years in 70s and 80s, when you were “off the press” and the diligent courtship following the BOFORs saga.
It will be great if you could share your experience in each of the era, and how it influenced your outlook.
Look forward to the same.

Dear Sir
This is a great novel way to communicate with people like us who have liked you sinces ages, almost 25-30 years now. I guess these media guys are just trying to sell their stories and they know it sells when they will use yours, abhishek or ash’s name. I loved your response to Outlook. Journos need to have their facts right before publishing such rubbish stories. Some stories are so rubbish, like the one published in Mumbai Mirror about Anil Kapoor being preffered for some roles and gave examples like Tashan and Jhony Walker. They didn’t even bother to check that Jhony Walker was written for you and post you declined it makers went to talented Anil. Everyday there is some crap which comes in newspaper. I guess it’s a reaction of not being invited in Abhi’s wedding.
On second side, there are people like Shatrughan Sinha. I really don’t know why he is so obsessed with you and your family. Every fortnight, in Filmfare he is making some or other sarcastic comment against you guys. I really don’t know if he has issues with you and just plain obssesed to be in news by taking your name. He is a respectable person and should act such.
Besides this, being a ardent fan of you and abhishek, I just wanted to put two requests to you and him -
To You - Please don’t overexpose yourself, we love you in roles like Sarkar, Ankhen. Pease continue doing such movies.
To Abhishek - He will excel in strong roles, needs to put more focus on his body and looks and should work in intense roles. May be on lines of modern day adaption of movies like Angeepath, Tezaab etc. I have great confidence that Abhishek has great potential to turn out to be a big big man in this industry. He has to take right moves.
I the end, we all love you. Please give us more of what we know you for. Don’t bother about these minor irritants, we all are standing to support you.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
I admire your work and even more than that I admire the way you conduct yourself in public…I admit that I am scared too while writing to you as your command of language is known to everyone…In this day and age when according to poet Wasim Barelvi ” ek zarra bhi kahin sar uthata hai…samandaron hi ke lehje mein baat karta hai” I must say you are ” phaldarr vriksha” . Please do not stop writing this blog ever as young people like me will enlighten their lives through the knowledge and experience that you have. I also have the stomach ailment and was quite depressed till I read your statement about your illness..you stated ” the body is a battlefield…something or the other keeps happening…one must continue his work” Thanks a ton sir…and I wish you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

dear shri Bachchan,
Namaskar to u and to all your family members. i have been waiting to talk to u and this is a golden opportunity for me to send u a message.
I would like to ask u one thing which is in my mind for a long time. Please do not take it otherwise. Since all the actors are working in Hindi film, why is it that when it comes to award functions (whatever award function it may be), that actors start talking in ENGLISH. i feel that you all should use Hindi. (this is my view).
I have seen u speaking in shudh hindi. I have also seen u speaking in english. But what i liked about you is that if somebody speaks to u in hindi u reply in hindi and if somebody speaks to u in english, u reply in english. and i think this is the best way. same way since awards are given for hindi films, all actors should speak in hindi.
Please do not mind my writing to u about this. I am the greatest fan of yours and i hope u don’t get angry with me for writing about this.
with warm regards sir

I dont know if I would be your regular reader as I know, like everything and everyone I am temporary. But as a reader I tell you i would definitely not be wanting to come back here to read what goes on between you and the media. There is lot more that I have seen behind the NAME “Amitabh Bachchan”, his love to films, his love to poetries, his love to the people and his love to his passion. I want and hope that the love gets reflected here live. Kuchh purane panne palatiye, kuchh aaj ki khabar sunaaiye, can we see that bachhan virtually?
“Kuchh logon ke liye meri aawaz hi meri pahchaan hai” shaayad yahi suna tha maine kabhie doordarshan par… ab hum aapko shabdon me bhi khojenge, keep writing sir, kuchh to log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kahna. Just be the big B, good luck and yes, keep smiling always! !! bole to aise…

Mr. Bachchan I would like to state that the majority of your fanbase and people of India do not buy into the gossip tales that the media puts forth on a daily basis. The indian media is unfortunately detached from the mindset of the indian public. <–That is a tragedy of modern, money-driven media. It is free only till it is making money, hence not free at all. Too bad they’re so small minded that they cannot figure out how they’re suffocating themselves.
I just wanted to assure you that even though the media prints stories after stories about all sorts of popular figures, the Indian public is still smart enough to decipher truth from fiction.
And thanks to blogs such as these, that task has been made easy.
Thank you.

sir,
ur image throughout ur career is impeccable perfect, my salute to u dear,
ur movies always close to ur real life, which u share with us , thank you,
as for ur social standing of support for downtrodden thru ur movies it is divine.
do u feel responsible for all woman who love u? for attracting them with ur good nature? in many ways in all age groups, although u try ur best to avoid such adulation. how do u generate such goodwill?
u still r most attractive person in inida and abroad, i am thrilled u r doing many more movies for fans like me wo canot look at anyone else with same adulation. coolie is ur best shot. u r so warm and affectionate person wish all men were like you.
can u be my father or atleast friend?
i am an ash fan too, ur relationship with her is so cool and modern like a friend and daughter. as for tree issue peoplr r jealous of even trees u touch!!! as abhi is a mountain of strength to her.
sort of atmosphere u have at home with so many beautiful people and high quality people, is only what people like me can imagine. i canot even guess wht sort of conversation u might have as it is beyond me.pl! allow me to speak to u all atleast once i love jayaji.

Amit Sir,
You are one of the most cultured and educated person representing India nowadays and you are famous and recognized all over the world. The people who write “garbage” about you and your family are simply JEALOUS of all your accomplishments and those of your family. Do not pay attention to these malicious people, they know not what they speak of. I wish you and your family all the best.
