Another group of interviews, which got left out from the last post
Amitabh
Bombay Times Questions
From The Famous Bike In Sholay…To The Hi-Tech Speed Machine In Bhoothnath….How Has The Journey Been So Far?
ANS//
Its been a most joyous ride. The road has not entirely been smooth. There have been the bumps and the pot holes and the road diversions and the traffic jams, but they have all added to this wonderful experience called life. Life in this wonderful Industry of Indian films. The models of the bikes have changed, the prices of the fuels have gone up, modern technology has made these bikes of today look pretty and powerful and a lot faster. But no matter what developments may have taken place, the motive hasn’t changed – the desire to reach a destination. Every day there is motivation and the eagerness to learn something new. To give fresh inputs to create better designs, to make sure that we guide this magnificent bike to its desired destination.
Life Then And Life Now - Which Era Is More Charming?
ANS//
Every era has had its joys and its sorrows which is why it has made them both equally charming. It would be monotonous otherwise. The early years full of aspiration and drive to prove our presence. The first signs of recognition and the ecstasy of achievement. The euphoria of adulation beyond any imagination. The disappointments of failure and its resultant repercussions. The advent of change. Change in mood and form. Change in attention and the reconciliation it forces. And eventually age and its memories. All aspects so so charming.
Did You Nurse The Ambition Of Driving Fast Cars Or Riding Stylish Bikes When You Were Younger?
ANS//
Yes. And the great satisfaction of being able to do that now. A fulfillment of dreams, never imagined.
How Was The Experience Of Riding The Snazzy Motorbike In Bhoothnath?
ANS//
I am not very comfortable with bikes, even though I have had to do some rather ridiculous operations with them in some of my films – the side car in Sholay, wild histrionics on Marine Drive for Muquaddar ka Sikander and some intricate stuff on the steps to the church in Bandra in Suhaag. Not to forget the one handed, accelerator wire in the mouth, driving, in Roti Kapda aur Makaan. Grave risks, but happily concluded without incident. In Bhootnath, on the Goa city roads with a whole bunch of us and an excited Banku on the back seat, it was tough at age 66 to manage the energy required for the shot. But we managed.
Did It Make You Realise Why Youngsters (Including Son Abhishek) Are So Crazy About Riding These?
ANS//
The motor bike is a great tool for building excessive adrenalin. Its singular operation and its open air environment has been its biggest attraction. The rider and the bike almost operate as one being and when the bike has certain larger than life human functions it has added to its attributes. The added attractions of course being your female companion or partner at the back, holding on to you for dear life and not necessarily with amorous intent.
Does The Lingo Used By The Youth These Days Amuse You… Eg…Words Like ’Cool’ And ‘Chillax’ (Chill + Relax = Chillax!). Do You Find Yourself Using Some Of These (Courtsey: Grandchildren?)?
ANS//
Yes it does. But I also reason its acceptability. Speed of communication either electronically or physically has made this generation intolerant almost to long winded, Grand Ma tale like conversations. Brevity is supreme. When the punch of a button provides you your money through the ATM, when it gives you instant encyclopedic information through the computer and the net, when it becomes your controlling factor in your choice of entertainment, then any elaborate verbosity gets on their nerves. The words and vocabulary that they use is remarkably constructed. They convey in its entirety what most of the older generation would have taken a couple of sentences to put across.
Do I use these expressions ? You bet.
You Seem To Keep Up Well With The Current Pace Of Life…Some Hi-Tech ’Hobbies’ You May Be Interested In - (I Hear Videogames Is One, Too)
ANS//
I do not know if I do, but I try to keep up with my grand children and it’s a disaster. They out play me out think me and beat the hell out of me.
Indian Express
1. You Seem To Generate A Lot Of Zeal In The Promos Of The Film, Isn’t It?
ANS//
It is what was desired of me from the director of the film. The effort has been rather strenuous for me at this age, but I think that the unit and the cast and crew of the film have always been very sympathetic to my condition.
2. The Best Part About Amitabh Bachchan Is The Way He Handles A Script With Actors Irrespective Of Age, But How Difficult Is To Work With Kids At Times?
ANS//
Working with kids is an education. I have worked in several films with them and they never have seized to amaze me. The sharpness with which they understand the medium, the natural ease with which they perform and their utter disregard to formatted performance, is an absolute delight. So much to learn from them.
3. Bhoothnath As Vivek Says Has A Message…Your Take…
ANS//
It does. Parental affection and advice. Familial ties. Values of relationship and the goodness it spreads. Dignity of existence. All very academic sounding at the moment, but so simplistic in its execution in the film.
4. Vivek Sharma Is So Excited That His Film Has Both Shah Rukh Khan
And You Working Together. Will You Get To See You Working More Often?
ANS//
Why not. All we need is for someone to structure something exciting and we shall be there.
5. On A Different Note, We Haven’t Had An Amitabh Bachchan Release For Quite Some Time…Why Is This So?
ANS//
Vagaries of film production. But really, had it been the opposite, you would have wanted to know why so many !!
6. Mithun Chakraborty Says He Wants You To Be Part Of Indian Cricket League..You Must Be Knowing He Has Bought The Kolkata Team…Your Response
ANS//
Mithun is a dear friend and colleague, but I would have to refuse his kind offer. I just do not have any knowledge of how this whole business functions. Not that I have very great knowledge of how any business functions !!
7. We Are Dying To See Sarkar Raaj…How Was The Experience Working In The Film Overall.
ANS//
Don’t die, just see the film !! Working with Ramu has always been a challenge and an extremely satisfying experience. Sarkar Raj was no different.
8. Finally, Why Is Amitabh Bachchan’s Name Dragged Into A Controversy Again And Again? Don’t You Find It Irritating?
ANS//
Actually I do not ! I think it continuously endorses the prominence of my existence. And that’s not too bad a thought to live with, don’t you think ??
Parents Today
1) What Made You Take Up The Role Of A Ghost In Bhoothnath?
ANS//
That is what was offered to me !
2) How Was The Experience Of Playing A Ghost?
ANS//
Spooky !! But a lot of fun.
3) Do You Believe In Ghosts? If Not, Then Do You Think Films Like This Should Be Made?
ANS//
I have not had any experience of their existence so my belief would be limited to that. And yes why shouldn’t films like this be made ? This is a make belief medium and creative freedom and freedom of expression are essential constitutional rights. But simpler put – would you wish for films to be made without back ground music or close ups or trolley shots or with crane camera movements or without editing cuts, because none of these elements exist in real life !!
4) How Was It Working With Children?
ANS//
Marvellous !!
5) Though Bhoothnath Is A Friendly Ghost, Will Children Get Scared After Watching The Film?
ANS//
No !! The relationship between the ghost and the kid in the film ensures that.
6) You Play A Grandfather In The Film, What Do You Think Is The Role Of Grandparents In The Upbringing Of Their Grandchildren?
ANS// Grand parents seem to be able to give more time to their grand children than they did to their children. Maybe they were so busy establishing themselves that they did not get the required time. But as grand parents they have an excess of that and are happy to be able to guide care and look after them. They have the experience of time and life ; of worldly wares. Most homes find the relationship of the children with their grand parents more stronger, than that with their parents.
7) Did Grandparenthood Change You In Anyway After You Became One In Your Real Life? What Have You Learnt From Navya And Agastya?
ANS//
I think you become wiser. You pay greater attention to the needs of the little ones, almost to the point of spoiling them, much to the consternation of the parents.
What I have learnt from Navya and Agastya is to remain cool !!
Do You See A Difference In The Way Children Are Brought Up Now Than From Before?
ANS//
Yes. But this will be a perennial question. Each generation will always tend to believe that their generation was different from the present and how things in ‘those days’ were never the way they are now. Time is a great factor in this debate and there shall be valuable inputs from both points of view.
9) What Are The Lessons That You Have Learnt From Your Own Parents?
ANS//
Far too many to be incorporated in this limited interview. But most importantly, to remain a good human being under all and any circumstances .
10) Were There Were Any Conscious Decisions Made In The Upbringing Of Shweta And Abhishek? Jayaji Put Her Career On Hold When The Children Were Growing Up. Why Was It Important To Do So?
ANS//
She felt it was important for one member of the family to be at home, especially since the other member was hardly there. Honesty, integrity and respect was what we expected from Abhishek and Shweta and what we got in abundance.
11) How Different Has It Been Parenting A Boy And A Girl?
ANS//
Jaya and I have never felt or allowed any difference to exist in the up bringing of Shweta our girl and Abhishek our boy. They will have equal rights and representations in our world. Even after we have gone.
12) Celebrity Status Usually Affects Children, How Did You Make Sure That Your Children Remain Grounded?
ANS//
We have never entertained the thought that we have a special status. It was not difficult therefore for the children to behave accordingly.
13) What Have You Yourselves Learnt From Your Children?
ANS//
That they understand life perhaps a little better than what we imagine they do.
14) Please Tell Us About The Special Moments That You Have Had With Shweta And Abhishek That Are Unforgettable.
ANS//
I would need to write a book on that and I am certain neither you or I are prepared for that right now.
15) How Did Life Change After Shweta And Abhishek Got Married?
ANS//
From being two members of the family they became four and now six.
16) Parenting Tips That You Would Like To Share With Our Readers
ANS//
Give them love and understanding. Every thing else will follow automatically.
Mumbai Mirror
How Would You Describe Your Role In Bhoothnath?
ANS//
A benevolent ghost.
Your Opinions On Ravi Chopra As A Director And A Producer? You
Seem To Be Doing Quite A Few Films With Him…
ANS//
Ravi Chopra directed his first film ‘Zameer’ in which I was the leading man. We have since worked in ‘Bagbaan’ and ‘Babul’ and now ‘Bhoothnath’ . He was very raw in his first film, but then who isn’t. And has now grown into a mature producer director. He has a great legacy of his father and his banner to live up to and he is doing it in a most commendable manner.
It Was Said That You Were Not Too Enthu About The Look Given To
You On The Film Because It Resembled Your Look In Jhoom Barabar
Jhoom…And Ravi Chopra Had To Convince You To Sport The Look
ANS//
This is undiluted rubbish !!
Javed Akhtar Got The Ending Of Bhootnath Changed..Earlier It Had
A Tragic Ending… Do You Abide By That Or Would You Have
Prefeered A Tragic Ending?
ANS//
I shall abide by what the director has agreed upon.
How Was Your Equation With Shah Rukh On The Sets Of Bhootnath?
ANS//
Fine.
Have You Seen The Promos Of Shah Rukh’s Upcoming Show, Kya Aap
Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? What Do You Make Of It? Your Gut
Feeling About The Show?
ANS//
No I have not, though I have seen the western version, the rights of which have been taken over by Star. I wish it well.
There Are Reports That Both Of Vivek Sharma (Director) Had A
Tough Time In Getting The Dates From You And Shah Rukh To Shoot
Together?
ANS//
Not true. We shot together as per plan.
Will You Do Another Film With Shah Rukh Khan?
ANS//
Yes, why not.
How Do You Manage To Work So Extensively? How Do You Manage Your
Health And Plus Ensure That You Don’t Feel The Fatigue? It’s
Really Not Easy…The Extent At Which You Are Working…
ANS//
If there is a will to work, time and energy all get managed.
There Was A Recent Story In A Glossy Abhishek And Rakeysh
Omprakash Mehra Had Creative Differences During The Making Of
Dilli 6..And Once The Showdown Resulted In Shooting Coming To A
Standstill… And You Called Up Both Of Them To Sort Out The
Matter…
ANS//
A bigger load of rubbish !!
How Is The Unforgettable Tour Plans Going? Is Akshay Kumar Coming
Over To Some Places? Or Is He Out? Are Saif, Kareena And Shahid A
Part Of The Tour Now?
ANS//
Yes Akshay is a part of the show as are Priety and Shahid and as we talk, Madhuri.
The Carter Road Bunglow Is Fast Getting Ready. We Hear, Abhishek
And Aishwarya Are Going To Shift There?
ANS//
I have no knowledge of any Carter Road bungalow being readied for Abhishek and Aishwarya.
Its’ Said That You Are Very Earnestly Looking Forward To
Becoming A Grandpa Again?
ANS//
Which parent doesn’t. When it is destined it will happen.
Any Good News In The Offing (In That Regard)?
ANS//
Nope !
Raj Thackeray Continues To Make Digs At You… Your Take On
This?
ANS//
We live in a democratically free society. Every individual has the right to say what he wants within the confines of the law of the land.
How Long Do You Think This Will Continue?
ANS//
That’s a pretty stupid question to ask !!
With Police Protection Being Increased Around You, Do You Feel
Claustrophobic?
ANS//
No I do not. I have full faith in the Maharashtra Police and the protection given to me.
Why Have You Decided To Take Your Lonavla Land Back?
ANS//
I am afraid I cannot comment on this just yet because the matter is sub judis.
How Did Aishwarya Take To The Controversy Of The School In Her
Name Being Targetted..And A Controversy Sparking Off
Thereafter.? Was She Petrified?
ANS//
There was never any controversy about the land on which the School is to be built and therefore there was no reason for her to be petrified. But why would anyone be petrified of a controversy. Controversies are disagreements on a contentious topic, strongly felt or expressed by all those concerned. The dictionary does not describe any petrification associated with it !!
Its’ Being Said That You, Abhishek And Aishwarya Are Not Too
Happy With Sarkar Raj…And There Is A Sort Of Fallout Between You And
Ramu?
ANS//
Since a most successful launch of Sarkar Raj on the 20th of this month at the JWMarriott in the presence of Abhishek and Aishwarya on a video conference from Miami has taken place this question, regrettably, is outdated.
Recently, You And Shatrughan Sinha Hugged At A Party? He Had
Returned The Sweets On Abhishek’s Marriage…How Did The
Patch-Up Happen? Who Made The First Move?
ANS//
Shatrughan Sinha and I have not hugged recently.. we have always hugged each other whenever we have met. Returning the sweets sent to him as a ‘shagun’ for Abhishek and Aishwarya’s marriage is his problem not ours. Some of his public remarks on the incident put the onus of not being invited to the wedding, on Mr Amar Singh’s shoulder, later, to privately visit his house in Delhi, to apologize and seek forgiveness for his deed from him. Mr Sinha’s public and private utterances often conveniently differ. He and I go back a long way and have often exchanged harmless jibes at each other, but I think there will be a general consensus on my belief, that he is ‘an unsophisticated rhetorician, perpetually intoxicated by the exuberance of his own verbosity’ !!
Buzz Is, You Will Star In Sanjay Bhansali’s Film To Be Produced
By One Of His Assistants?
ANS//
This is not a buzz it is pretty factual. It will be produced by Sanjay and directed by his assistant.
Which Film Of Your’s Do You Like To See Again And Again..Name
One Which Ranks The Highest In Your Notebook
ANS//
All of them
Are You In Touch With Some Of The Heroes And Heroines You Worked
With.. I Mean Say A Phone Call Sometimes.. Or Is It Just The
Occasional Bumopimg Into Each Other As And When A Social
Function Takes Place?
ANS//
A bit of both really – casual bumping into them on social occasions and the odd phone call to some..
Times Bangalore
1) You’ve Said In An Interview That You Don’t Believe In Ghosts; You Believe In God. Can’t The Two Co-Exist? How Was It Playing A Ghost, Espcially When You Don’t Believe In It?
ANS//
I have said I believe in an unknown force. And since the force is unknown, it is hardly likely, that I would be able to predict that the two, God and Ghost, would have the capacity or desire to co exist !!
2) Your Get Up In The Film Is Interesting. How Much Time Would It Take To Get Ready For A Shot? Did You Ever Get Scared Of Your Reflection In The Mirror? Why Are You So Upset With Your Bhoothnath Look Being Compared To The Babban Look?
ANS//
It would take an hour to get ready for the Bhoothnath look. I get scared when I look at my reflection every morning in the mirror !! And I am not upset with the Bhoothnath look being compared to the Babban look – I am petrified ! Babban was a failure and I would not want Bhoothnath to suffer the same fate !!
3) After The Ghost, You’re Playing A Genie In Sujoy Ghose’s Aladdin–Double Whammy For Your Young Fans. Ae Your Grand Children Looking Forward To Seeing You In Such Avtars?
ANS//
Yes.. I hope so.
4) Madhuri, Shahid And Saif Are Part Of The World Tour. Weren’t You Apprehensive About Friction Between Shaid And Saif When They Come Together For The World Tour? Are You Upset With Lara Not Making It To The World Tour? Have You Started Practising For The Show?
ANS//
I think you have the list of participants all wrong. Perhaps you should wait for the tour to get started before you start drawing inferences. Lara has cited personal reasons for not being part of the Tour and we respect her decision. And yes we have started practicing.
5) You’re Playing Abhishek’s Grandpa In Dilli 6. Do You Think You’d Look Convincing As His Grandpa, Specially After Playing Younger, Spunkier Characters Like Sexy Sam?
ANS//
Sure. Why not ?
6) Shah Rukh Khan Said In The Filmfare Awards That You’re Extremely Brave To Be Doing Sarkar Raj With Ram Gopal Verma Aftter The Debacle Called Rgv Ke Aag. Do You Agre? What Do You Have To Say About That?
ANS//
I would agree with him. He perhaps says that, because he has himself not been brave enough to work again with Amol Palekar after the debacle called Paheli..!!
7) Your Forthcoming Films Are Very Interesting. Tell Us A Bit About Your Roles In Shantaram, Last Lear, Pa, And Paanch Kaurav.
ANS//
I couldn’t possibly do that ! I do not have the permission from the makers.
What’s Shoebite About? The Mayor Of London Reportedly Came Visitng On The Sets. Was He Impressed With What He Saw? How Are You Associated To Him?
ANS//
Working title ‘Shoebite’ is about an elderly couple living in Manali. And that is all I am permitted to say. And the Mayor of London did not visit the sets of ‘Shoebite’ he visited the sets of ‘Aladin’. He was here in connection with the promotion of London being a destination for future Indian productions being shot there and his association with me was limited to their belief that I could possibly be of some assistance to them, having shot extensively in London for two films in the past few years.
9) Will You Do The Entire Trilogy With Rakeysh Mehra? There Are Talks Of Mehra Getting Together The Bachchans For His Forthcoming Project. He Plans To Go On A Hungher Strike If Jaya Bachchan Doesn’t Give Him The Nod. Will We Get To See All Of You Coming Together In His Film?
ANS//
The answer to this query lies securely in the able mind of Shri Rakeysh Mehra.
10) Your Voice Over For The Chittor Fort Was Slated For March 12.
ANS//
Wrong again !! It’s the Amber Fort and its in Jaipur. I have still to record the voice over since I was suffering from a bad throat infection.

Respected Amitabh Bachchan!
First of all, let me introduce myself as your great admirer not only as an actor but only as a person. I agree to everybody that you are a man who is cultured and very sober!
Coming to some serious issue; I read somewhere that you got upset on Aamir Khan’s remarks over your work in Black. He tried to contact you but he was told that you were busy and you never called him back. Is there something really wrong going between you and him or this is just created by Media to sell the news? I am of the view that he cannot criticize your work because you are such a great actor but I also read that he meant to say that showing the ill treatment with the disabled child was not good. I, somehow, agree to him that especially after watching his heart touching Taare Zameen Par and I think he didn’t want to insult your acting but that was actually a remark to the director who handled the subject insensitively. Anyway, these are my personal thinkings. I think many readers are interested to read your point of view on this.
I wish you a long and healthy life with full of happiness and more successes. I also wish the same for your family.
Best Regards,
Aamir

Dear Amit-ji
This is something I just had to write to you. I wanted to share with you, my personal opinions.
I feel, blogging is a very good idea on your part. It makes it possible to share and express directly what is in one’s mind to a vast audience. No doubts, there will be hiccups and ups and downs, well that is life. There always be people taking advantage, committing treachery and what not. All the same there will also be people who will belong to the other extreme — “Too good to be true”.
I can understand a long, tumultous experience in life can leave one very bitter. Sad to say, but I too am on my way to becoming like that myself. But, I want you to read over your posts once again and reflect — are you really as angry as you come across ? Or is it the way posts are written that make it seem so ? the difference can be subtle, but can have surprising effects.
Hope to see you in good cheer, Sir!
Regards
Madhukar

Hats of to you for shortening the distance between you and your loyal fans.
I just need a direction from you. I want to know so many things, which I consider most appropriate to ask and I believe you will be surprised and laugh out louder after listening those questions. Is there any way to pose a question to you. If so, please let me know. These questions are haunting me for quite a long time, whenever I see you on screen (big and small). I dont want to ask them here b’coz I need your personal attention. You can mail me at yahoo dot com. my id is yjawaid.

Your blog makes very interesting reading and is an eye opener to various fans like me. I am a very old fan of yours and to be frank my last movie on the big screen was Baghban / Black etc. In between also I took a short break from watching movies in the eighties and nineties when you were out of acting. You would be surprised to know that there are quite a number of moviegoers who belong to my ilk. Sir, my salutes to you for your contribution to cinema and the world in general and your attitudes. I consider myself to be lucky to have been born as your contemporary and pray to God to bless you with good health, happiness and long life. I could go on writing but taking your valuable time into consideration I end this short note with all the best wishes. Could I write to you about certain issues relating to the current scenario’s - political, social, historical etc.?
Regards and best wishes

Hi mr B.
let me begin by saying it is an honour to be writting directly to you. there are some people who influence your thoughts and actions so deeply, that you aspire to be like them. you, sir, have had this kind of a deep and permanent influence on my psyche.
as much as i love you for your acting abilities, i would be lying if i said your personality as a human being has not impressed me more.
your ethics, honesty, grace under pressure, dignity have made the real you a far more imposing and larger than life personality than the many varied and complicated roles you essay on the screen.
i would seek your blessings, sir, to imbibe even a fraction of your good personality traits in my life.
yours humbly

Welcome to bloggers community.
Well it was a nice read but if u may permit me, I have few observations:-
1) As I understand you would have started blogging to get closer to your audience, to communicate your ideas and thoughts to general masses. Basically to set up a feedback channel.
2) If that is indeed the purpose, then it becomes very important that the post engages the readers, it should keep people hooked onto it which I am afraid this post does not do.
I am also still a learner but sharing whatever I have learnt over last few months.
I hope I have not done anything wrong by sharing my thoughts. If yes, then please do forgive me.

Congrats sir for starting this ‘blog thing’ which is too much popular these days…
like our ‘beloved’ aamir is using this mainly for attacking other stars and other people like politicians, cricketers, etc.. u please don’t do it..
i just read what u said about SRK and his paheli… well, in the filmfare awards, he was just a host and had to say whatever was written in the scripts… just for laughs.. which should be taken lightly… i m highly disappointed by the way u have said about his paheli… which was much much much better than rgv ki aag.. being a part of both the movies, i think u totally agree with what i said!
i admire u for whatever u do, but three movies of the great Mr. Amitabh Bachchan highly dissapoint me… BOOM, RGV ki AAG and NISHABD. paheli is better than all these three, right sir?
please take a small advice from a 24 year old kid.. well, i m a kid in front of the mighty Big B… please don’t use this thing to degrade others… thats all i have to say…. thanks a lot…
i have written this whole thing with a hope that mr.bachchan personally attends all the comments…

Your inter-personal skills really amazes me.
You go all out to help your friends in any which ways, and forgive my blunt statement - if I say you surely have a great diplomatic way of getting even with your foes (as we all could see during the past events i.e Raj Thackeray / Shatrughan Sinha).
I was particularly impressed at your friendly yet a veil attack on Shotgun to cut him to size. Needless to add, he definitely deserve it.
I wish if I could even learn 10% of your skills, I would have got loads of friends (while the fact is I hardly have friends, forget the true ones) and ofcourse I could really play well against my endless foes.

I sincerely believe you are the greatest actor of all times, and a very dignified person. I read else where in this blog that you have suffered some internal injuries, which is extremely painful. Being a Homeopathic physician who also has knowledge of Bach Flower Remedies, I suggest you buy 30ml of Rescue Remedy from a good Homeopathic store. Take 4drops of it in half cup of water, 3times daily. When you find relief from the pain, which will be due to the healing, you may take further instructions from me.

Dear Sir,
Welcome to cyberspace and wish you all the luck and good wishes. I am an admirer of yours starting from the Zanjeer days and have seen almost all your films released till now (with a few exceptions here and there). I still cannot forget August 20, 2000 when I had the good fortune to meet you and shake hands with you (on the sets of KBC). I was a participant from Kochi, Kerala and the episode was telecast of September 05, 2000. I still remember you telling me that Kerala is a beautiful place and me inviting you to visit the same.
Though I could not make it to the hot seat, I always tell that meeting you was worth many crores of rupees.
Coming to the subject of Bhoothnath, I remember during the shooting of the KBC episode I mentioned earlier, while you were standing and delivering the opening lines and white smoke was being let in from the sidelines. The volume of the smoke got a bit more than was necessary and you had mentioned to the director of the show to take care of the same otherwise you would appear as a ghost to the audience. “Dhuan thoda kam karo nahin to bhhot nazar aoonga” were the word, I think. Just remebered the episode while reading your blog item.
I personally feel that ou are getting better and better with every movie being released nowadays and I pray to God to give you good health and strength to continue like this for a long toime to come.
Regards
Chidambaram T R, Chennai

I did not know this bigadda belongs to Anil Ambani or his company. Are you helping your friend (?) out to make this BigAdda as mySpace/FaceBook?
Off course without your involvement I would not have known about this blog. Let me ask you one question, Are you getting paid for blogging by Reliance or Anil Ambani? (Which I highly doubt it!) however its possible since famous people do commercials for money - BTW its okay but please make it announcement that you in fact getting paid (so your fan base will know that beside selling chyvanprash you also selling this “product”.
I see two type of people who write to you . one is just awestruck that Mr. Big B is writing another is skeptical about his motive! (like I would not have know that your new movie aldadin coming!)
I understand people who in show biz wants to be in lime-light and there is no such thing is bad or good publicity.
You mentioned about Bofors and your name being dragged on. So far we Indian people do not know who pocketed money and who sold out India. I believe there is a fume there should be a fire and, you may be acquitted but we as a commoner never found who was behind this. Why your brother named dragged on this? Here in America O.J. Simpson also got acquitted but does not mean that doubt does not linger in people mind than who did it?
I understand this is first time a commoner could ask these questions to Big B himself and I like this avenue to express.
I see pattern in all these from beginning e.g. helping Rajiv Gandhi out for running against Bahuguna. Congress would not have won that sit for years and your entry changed that equation. Now you are helping Anil Ambani for promoting his website and but I ask what Amitabh Bacchan himself thinks. He always follow someone like you do in acting? Director tells you something and you act! and looks like you doing the same thing in real life. Someone ask and you do it and you do not have your conscious!
I hope by asking these questions I won’t get banished. I like you as person and I believe in my heart you are good person. I have many questions to ask but lets start with these first.
I hope you feeling well.
Warm Regards,
Dharmesh Trivedi

dear mr bachchan i’m not a movie buff but when at leisure like to see tv programmes and events etc wherein some how the people are asked to compare between you and shahrukh khan which i really hate…… simply i donot like this term king khan, badshah khan already when till date there is a very much active king of kings the ultimate “MR AMITABH BACCHAN’.
even when it is none of my business or botheration somehow i feel very jealous of shahrukh khan and want him to be rated 5 if you are 10, even though he too is a mind boggling actor like amir khan but……….
1-10 is mr amitabh bacchan and then amir, shahrukh, saif, akshay, abhishek etc
how does it concern me but if shahrukh is paying say 20 crores tax i wish mr bacchan alone pays 25 crores(stand alone), if young crazy girls cry for him in germany i feel the entire universe (includes all male female in the universe) shuld feel for u in the same manner,
summary mr bachchan is 1-10 of bollywood then the others follow

Hello sir, its me again
Thanks for posting those interviews , i just love ur replies and love the way u tackle those questions ! i wanna quote this -
Q.Does The Lingo Used By The Youth These Days Amuse You… Eg…Words Like ’Cool’ And ‘Chillax’ (Chill + Relax = Chillax!).
Thats my favourite and an amazing answer and i am highly impressed as always. You are amazing sir !
And now i can call you Cool , ok ?

The fact that some ‘money spinners’ like srk who consider themselves to be actors of your stature, are able to take a shot at you is very amusing. Acting is not spoof making and making a film a hit. I bet SRK will not be able to do something like a ‘black’ ever. Everyone knows how Paheli made it to Oscars from india!!

Futile to say that i too am one of ur trillions of die hard fans. Every human being has his own wishes and dreams. And so in one way all of us wants things to be as we wish, although it seldom happens.Only one way to create our own world and our own creation of what we peceive of characters around us is to write a story, and make a movie.I know you in past have rejected any such possibility. But believe me almost all of us wants to see your creation.Please.tell us a story close to your heart. Is their any probability that you might do so?

Good evening Sir
I am not sure whether the content of my letter is suitable to that of your website, nevertheless I need to inform you that, since my childhood days (age 5) I have been a great fan of yours, still is. My grand dad used to write to you but he is late now, and I used to be so amazed that you actually replied to his mails. On behalf of him who used to cheerish each and every movie of yours, thank you for taking the time to address his letters. Always your fan Ms M

Hey,
It is nice to see that you too have finally embraced blogging and hopefully in due time other ‘web 2.0′ service. I know you prob. wont read this comment as I too run a blog and at times I used to get 100’s of comments every day. It is hard to cope but then you have much more attention in real life than virtual so you might not find it much of a big deal.
Anyways goodluck in whatever you do and I hope you make good script choices and I look forward to seeing the movies although I am not much of a bollywood fan.
Take care and hope you are well.
Regards,
Dev
p.s. you can email me on hack.msn.spaces [at] gmail.com if you want any help in adding features and gadgets to your blog but I am sure you have people to maintain your blog, if not my knowledge on blogs and web 2.0 stuff is at your service!* (*Free ofcourse :p)

I pity the people who so desperate that they have put up their phone numbers.
@Mothilal
You have to be really selfish to think that by putting your phone number here AB will call you and plan a meeting. I am sure you wouldn’t want to be interrupted in your daily life to meet random people as well. So give him a break. He has a family to take care of and ofcourse act in movies and do other charity and awareness work.
Mate it not wise to put up your phone number publicly as it can be misued for various reasons.

Sorry error in my previous comment. It was meant to be for sahab singh meena and not Mothilal.
@Pooja//
On what basis or fact can you say that Pakistani artist have more talent and beauty? The fact that you have mentioned beauty before talent disgusts me. So you go by the looks and not what they produce eh?
I can then be arrogant and say that Indian artists are way better as in Pakistan even though India films and other media is banned the Pakistani’s pirate the movies and watch them and the number is not small. So through this demand which I am sure is more than the deman of Atif Aslam in India I can say that Indian artists have more talent than pakistan’s?
Please dont make this an India Pakistan issue for no reason and do not make statements without facts. Each artists to himself depending on his talent and not this nationality. Btw.. different people like different genres and artists.

Hello Mr Bachchan,
This is the first time i am writing to you and was wondering what should i be writing to you. Needless to say i am all impressed by your work and you silence when needed in certain situations(like you are a superstar and how come you are a north indian).
Well i have an assignment for you which only you can do because you are Amitabh Bachchan(you can do it). People in India and in world at large have learned so manythings from you. You are literally copied from hairdo to shoes you wear. I wish if you can teach them(Indian in particular) some etiquettes(which will cost them nothing). You have to think over how you want to do it.
This will take some time for you but once you are done i have another assignment for you(just kidding).
Take Care
