Landed !! A message I send to all members of my family and my office every time I board an aircraft and then land. This blog is my family now and I want you to know that I have landed safely.
I had left off mid way on my comments to Mr Salim Khan. The wait is over -
FACT
To propagate and execute investment and development in the State of Uttar Pradesh, the UP Development Council under the patronage of the then Chief Minister Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav and the Chairmanship of Mr Amar Singh was formed. Prominent corporate heads including the likes of Mr Anil Ambani, Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla, Mr Adi Godrej, Mr Nandan Nilenkeni of Infosys, Mr MV Kamath, MD of ICICI and other important dignitaries from various walks, were honorary members of this council. Yours truly was also a member. I was appointed Brand Ambassador in order to invite through audio visual ad., campaigns, investment into the State.
These advertisements were done by me free of cost.
If Mr Salim Khan can prove to the contrary, then I am guilty. Else not.
The accusation of ‘lying to earn money’ can perhaps be construed as a reference to the contents in the campaign and the alleged misinformation. The issue was the crime rate in the State. What was spoken in the ad., was from a report of the Home Ministry of the Central Government. In that, the level rating for UP was put at the 26th or 27th position compared to other States who were much higher.
Mr Salim Khan’s accusations on land matters have been through due process of law in the Honorable High Court and the Supreme Court and dismissed in my favor. One of the issues is still sub judis and it would not be prudent for me comment on it. I await trial and shall accept the verdict, either way. I am confident that it shall amply justify my questioned actions.
The issue of friends and invitations to the marriage have already been talked of and discussed ad nauseum. I cannot understand Mr Salim Khan’s interest in matters that occupy my private domain.
Since Mr Salim Khan has refrained from mentioning the names of individuals, he thinks are ill advising me or those he cautions are of wrong company, I am unable to comment. Were he to do so, I would happily clear the air for him.
Salim Saheb, as I have always addressed him, my elder both in age and in my profession and Javed Saheb, as I have always addressed him, have undoubtedly been prolific writers as a duo for several of my films, most of which have achieved historic critical and commercial acclaim. I have always had the highest regard for them and have and still do hold them in great esteem. I do hope that my clarifications against wrong and unacceptable accusations, shall justify my acknowledged maturity.
My love and more for all -
Amitabh Bachchan

Sir,
My this post is not related the article above. I am an Indian currently based out of London and was listening to the news where Raj Thakre of Maharashtra Navnirman sena talked about you as well north indians once again.
While it is really a sorry state where the innocent taxi person are getting beaten up for no reason still the elite people such as you and others are not trying to make a point against it.
I do not want to put you in trouble but isnt it good to speak against evil. Even if you are afraid to speak about it than how an ordinary person will dare to do so.
Its unfortunate to see such battlefields drawn within the state and people. Isnt it the same where US blames indian to take away there job while Maharashtra job are taken by north indians.
I would certainly feel that North Indians in mumbai need to unite to face the political devils such as Raj Thakare..
What are your views?
Sorry for digracing away from your topic but I think should not shy away from such remarks which are against you as well as a community belongs to nation
” INDIA” . TO NOT TO SPEAK IS A BIGGER SIN.

Ppheww!!! must be hectic traveling here and there at this age…yet you are prompt in staying connected to several of your fans (like me)…its only those who seek fame through staying home listless that keep accusing you…its your humble character that you attempt to justify and defend yourself…but we request you to stop paying attention to any unwarranted criticism derived from absolutely random quarters of the nation. I live in Toronto with my family and we watch Inidan Movies all the time. Once I asked my older daughter who is 13 years old if she liked Amitabh or SRK…..she said she would choose Amitabh any day over SRK and Amitabh has a thing about him that SRK dosen’t…….I was astonished at how much she admires Amitabh’s acting skills………I am sure there are many like her (age group) who find Amitabh Bachchan as the symbol of Indian Film Industry.

We all love you, media projects a distorted image of common man and what he thinks really…there is lot of subjective journalism and perhaps this is the best way to reach to the common man.
All these people who are after you are just empty words and nothing else…I could dare call spade a spade and say if you stand in election in Maharashtra from any constituency anywhere…even against any established neta..You will win hands down…perhaps this would be the only way for us common people to show our love to you. and say you are right.

Welcome back! This has to be the most amazing blog EVER!
What’s the reason behind your energy and drive, even at this age?
What is the main incentive for you to still be working round-the-clock?
Is it money? I guess not, because you probably have enough of it.
Is it creative satisfaction? I guess not, or else you would not be doing advertisements for Boro Plus, Chavanprash etc. etc.
Or is it just that you LOVE working? Competition between family members?
No, no..or you would have stepped into Hollywood a long long time ago.
I’m from Los Angeles, and people know you here..I mean people in the entertainment industry..pretty awesome huh?! They know that you’re a huge ‘Bollywood’ star..hmph. No matter how much you hate that term, we have to accept the fact that this is how the world knows us.
I aspire to be a film-maker, probably one who combines the best of both worlds- Hollywood and Bollywood. I will send you a copy of my documentary once it’s ready..then you can judge for yourself and let me know if you wish to work with me someday..LOL.
Jussst Kiddddiiinng..It is I, who would DIE to work with you. After Black, you are the God of Cinema for me. More of a God than even Jack Nicholson, my previous favorite actor could ever be.
Keep the GREEAAT work up and going, sir!

Hi, Mr. B. …
It occurs to me that you must have a mob of security people with you when you’re traveling by plane these long distances. I imagine everybody on the plane wants to sit next to you, so unless you travel by chartered plane, you have to have your own people along to be your buffers, or or else you’d be forced to smile till your cheeks cracked for the whole trip.
At any rate, I’m glad you’re home safely and can relax a little.

Hello Sir,
I am currently working in London, UK. During my lunchtime , I always browse to be in touch with my 2 favourite topics, Cricket and Bollywood. I enjoy reading about the latest happenings and it takes my mind off the work for 15-20 minutes. So only recently I read that you have started writing blogs. I thought it must be fake as being so very busy person, how could you get the time, I wondered. But still out of curiosity I thought of checking this site today and still can’t believe but happy to read your thoughts. As much as I admire your acting skills, I truly admire your command on English language too. Your work, your engagement in so many diverse fields and your enthusiasm to practice the new technologies at your age (Please forgive me if I am being ageist, no offense !) is truly exceptional. How do you manage it?
I got married before a year. I work as an IT professional and find it hard juggling between personal and professional life. I wonder if you could manage so many things even today and then being a younger person I should be able to do that too ! I read your speech about Shobha De’s book. It’s good to know your thoughts about women.
I hope that you read my comments and would be ecstatic if you would acknowledge it. My husband and me are great fans of yours.
On the last note, I want to mention one of your sayings which one of my friends said to me one day. Often when I feel sad and can’t help feel frustrated about why some things does not happen in the way they should be , I often remember that ‘ Jo bhi hota hai woh acche ke liye hota hai aur woh jab apne man ka nahi hota hai to woh aur bhi accha hota hai kyonki woh bhagwan ke man ka hota hai.’ (Hope I said it right.
So Mr. Bachchan, I wish a very happy , healthy and prosperous life for you. I hope to read your blogs in the future. I always wanted to see you in person. Hey, but if not in person then atleast I can write to you. So if at all you visit London again and I dare to say if you wish to honour me by allowing me to see you then you could write to me on my email address, tanujask@yahoo.com. I am being too optimistic : )
Anyways, I take your leave now. Take very good care of yourself and your family.
Bye for now. With lots of respect and love,
- Tanuja

SirG,
You mentioned Mr.Narayan Murthy and he mentioned you yesterday 3rd May 2008, Mumbai at around 7.00PM
I got to attend a TIE (the indus entrepreneurs) Leaders and Learners Seminar organised with help of CNBC TV 18 . And in point of interaction with the anchor Anuradha Sen Gupta she on a point mentioned that Mr.Murthy is an angry old man, and he did not seem to agree with the word Angry , he said old man is Ok but not angry old man, he says he is happy to be called angry middle aged man like Amitabh Bachhan when the anchor corrected him saying you are being quoted as the “ANGRY OLD MAN”. For which his witty reply was its an honour to be compared with AMITABH BACHHAN and now he didn’t mind the tag.
Such is the influence you enjoy even on people like Mr.Narayan Murthy whenever they face the camera(read Media). Your tryst with Media is now all over the world.
My learning is just see how SIRG, you get into everybody’s (include all your past acquaintances) mind you influence them with whatever you have and whatever you do.

Amitji,
Welcome back to India. Thank you for the 2nd part of the article. It seems like, day by day it’s becoming some kind of odd fashion in the Indian Film Industry to make some pathetic comment against you to be in the media, and media put some more salt and pepper to cook it up as they want to. It seems like, the so called people, like Anurag Basu, Shatrughan Sinha, Salim Khan, etc…, have lost their conscience. But I pity them.
There’s old saying, “Barking dogs, seldom bite.”
I forgot to tell you that, no matter what the so called haters of you think about your friendship with Amar Singh. Your friendship with Amar Singh is the best example, that proves the proverb “A friend in need is friend indeed.”
May God Bless you and your Family.
Cheers

Dear Amitji,
This blog must grow further, from an instrument to vent the bitterness in your heart into a device which speaks of the churning of your mind. Writing is an effective way to discover yourself. As one writes, one discovers the pettiness in one’s thoughts, the triviality of nursing grudges, the broader view. I have always found writing the easiest way to ease my ire, to assuage my traumatized mind. And in some way it helps you see the light within yourself.
I read somewhere that you are an avid diary writer. So I think you will understand what I mean. Diversify from issuing clarifications. You seem to have started that. I love the way you have begun using your powerful voice to speak for issues. It needs guts to speak out.
Keep going!
Love
Anshu

Welcome back sir,
I heard that Mr. Salman Khan had no issue with film as long as the lyricist was not Javed Akhtar (After the writer duo parted ways). I don’t know how justifiable is to mix professional and personal issues.
I think now Mr. Salim Khan has lost his mind in the same way he lost media attention. Since he can’t regain lost mind, probably he is trying to gain the other one
My apologies for using such a rude language but once in while we have to use such words.

Varun

Many people are jealous and don’t see your progress as wothy. As your fan since 1972 I see that you have principles in your personal life.Sometimes you try to run away from your problems which is interpreted as your egoistic style.
As I watch your progress and hard work I see please don’t care for these critical remarks. In the remarks I see some “muslim intolerance” in your career.
Please don’t leave the Thakeray issue lying down.Thakerays are have “apla manush” syndrome. Earlier they rose against Gujarathis and later against poor tamilians in Dharavi. Now all biharis and north Indians. Such a problem is developing in Karnataka also. Through some media presence and actionsplease thwart Thakerays and their evil divisive designs.

Hello Mr. Bachchan,
Even though I came to know of your blog some days back when you started it, my decision to post a comment on it was taken after reading your answer to Mr. Ramadoss in the morning papers today. Must say it is a befitting reply to a man who is hellbent on curbing our freedom in this democratic country.
I myself, do not drink or smoke. However, I would never put a curfew on creativity and stop actors from enacting some habits which could be very essential to the character they portray on screen.
If Mr. Ramadoss, feels so strongly against smoking and drinking then he should just cancel the licences of liquor makers and put a stop to tobacco sales across the country. But I don’t think he would have the guts or authority to do any of this specially since tobacco brings in huge revenue to the country’s economy.
Anywayz, it’s nice to see a person of your stature being so vocal about things and not being a hypocrite like I have myself seen a very famous author being.
All the best to you in your blogging and assuring you that I would be a regular visitor to this space.

Hello Sir,
Thanks for rising the low lying nerves of many of us around. The creativity and analogies you put across through your answer will definitely make people understand that if you are not part of the solution you are a problem yourself.
Keep writing and you might help me witness the power of one translating to a Billion.

That a man like Salim Khan would indulge in this drivel against you is a bit perplexing on its own. But it is positively astonishing when one considers the extent of this man’s ‘ungratefulness’. Some years ago when his son, Salman Khan, had just about become persona non grata for a whole host of reasons including running down people on the sidewalk in a drunken state (Salim Khan then asked his driver to take the blame for a bit of a payment, probably confusing the whole matter with one of his scripts, but at any rate one wonders how he has the gall to accuse anyone else of ‘lying’) I remember that at an audio launch you very publicly ‘endorsed’ him (Salman Khan). I even remember you words rather precisely — “whether anyone else is or not, I am with you”. After this kind of public support Salim Khan comes out with a bizarre statement like the one you’re responding to. One is tempted to believe he’s been set up to do this, perhaps by a political group. I am making an educated guess here because I am trying to give Salim Khan the benefit of the doubt. This hardly makes his statement excusable but would at least provide a context to it. Why does a man like him suddenly crop up and begin such a debate? Or make himself part of one which features names like Shatrughan Sinha and Anurag Basu and some others. It seems to me that every alternate day someone or the other pops up to say something reasonably nasty against ‘Amitabh Bachchan’!
I would lastly add once again (following my more detailed comments on this subject in one of my earlier responses) that respect is not ‘owed’ to anyone because of age or seniority. It should be ‘earned’. Yes, there is an Indian tradition (and not only Indian) where one often believes this. But this should not stop one from responding forcefully when such unfair accusations are made. I think you have done this with Anurag Basu or Shatrughan Sinha. You ought to do the same with Salim Khan or anyone else also. You shouldn’t let anyone think they can get away with these things because they are ’senior citizens’!

Cos otherwise i feel all the things been spoken against you are irrelevant and unnecesary and that too from the likes of Salim Javed and Shatrughan Sinha..
All your fans, including me are with you sir on this and every other issue..
I wish you all the very best for your forthcoming releases and your health..

Mr. Bachchan deserves kudos for being techno-savvy in this day and age, when images fly across the world in a jiffy and stories break like there is no tomorrow. I personally feel that Mr. B. should create a forum, of course, online and web based, and have a dedicated web address, where people at large, in India and overseas can have a direct access to his views and whews, instead of an incognito behind the laptop approach from the bloggersphere.
For starters, let me provide him with a topic and may be he can invite people over [online] to his domain and discuss the following —
How can a person like Mukesh Ambani build a house for 2 Billion Dollars in downtown Mumbai. I have no animosity towards Mr. Ambani, in fact, I admire him for what he has achieved, but opulence to this extent, goes to show beyond any doubt that more money you make, higher you try reach Him in the sky - both figuratively and physically. Please pass this on to Mr. B. Our country, India, although, at present I am in US, still bleeds with excesses forced upon the downtrodden and have-nots. Even after 60 years of having gained independence, our villages don’t have access to clean drinking water, electricity or any of the for granted comforts that we grow so used to in the western world. Bottom line, I urge Mr. B. to take on these issues. Not personal bickerings of some people who write to him to gain notoriety or have an ax to grind. I encourage Mr. B. to find it in his heart, to help his country, especially the poor class, who don’t have a voice on the net yet. Our country has given him a lot than he could have ever imagined in this lifetime and now it is his turn to help the same people who idolized him and prayed for him when he was down. Mr. B., I am a nobody, but I am pained to see millions of Indians suffering at the hands of corrupt politicians and goons running our great nation. Start a movement, like an ad-campaign, of course online, which will not engage you 24X7X365. God has given you everything, take an initiative to really work towards a national cause, not as a politician, but as an online troubleshooter. Try and uplift people who are ashamed of their very own existence, not because they were born poor, but because no one cared for them and presented them with the right opportunities. Please do this for the sake of humanity, for your own people.
With all my sincerity and good wishes.

Dear Sir,
There is a huge huge fan base of yours for whom you can do no wrong. So no explaination is ever needed for whatever someone else “comments” on you.
And there will be some others for whom you can do no right. And no amount of explaination will convince them basically because they are blinded by their antagonism for you.
But for those who are neutral ( & that has indeed become a rarity these days) the points that you make are absolutely irrefutable, classy and terrific. God bless you & your family. Us he has already blessed by having you in our midst.

Hi Amit Ji,
Ever Since I was born, the first name of a superstar that rang my ear was yours. I have grown watching your films like many other people in India.
I am an ardent admirer of yours.
The way you carry yourself in public life and professional life is adorable.
I watched your interview at NDTV news channel. Having learned that Times of India called you a traitor really upset me. The love and trust which many of us have for you is good enough to discard the comment they made. And believe me, our love and respect for you in so strong, that such comments should not bother you.
There are people who are targeting you but as you said life is a struggle, you need to face them and laugh it off. As long as you know whatever you are doing is right, please go ahead and do it. However please do not get lost in this mad world and loose your inner self. After all it is all in the mind. Just let the bad things go off from your mind and do not let them linger.
I want to meet you or at least see you before I die. This is my wish! And I leave my fate decide that whether my wish gets fulfilled. And I wish you many years of lovely life. Please entertain us just the way you have been doing. Let the bondage be stronger.
Regards
Rahul

Dear Sir,
Once more i am honored by your warm heartfelt sentiments towards all of us ..your readers …thank U for making us feel special by calling us your FAMILY..:) The feeling is mutual. Reading thru your blogs each day has brought U very close in our lives as well.
I do sense a hidden political agenda aimed at U behind the wrongful accusations, maybe ppl are coerced into making public statements against U or rewarded for doing so. Your guess is as good as mine. I applaud U for taking a stand against wrongdoings, addressing key issues and vocalizing your povs on controversies in a very honest straightforward manner without mincing words.. which otherwise the Media would like to preach as the gospel truth were U to maintain a dignified silence in response. Your responses deir se sahi per durust aaye..
Your accusers need know dat ‘those who point a finger at others often forget.. the other fingers point at them first.’
The izzatmaab Mr Salim Khan should take a moral stand as head of his family against vulgarity that his item girl daughter-in-law endorses donned in revealing lingerie in disgustingly provocative poses on magazine covers even after becoming a mother ..which is very shameful..! N they can’t coin it a ‘professional hazard’ cuz she is a non Actress with no proven acting capabilities.
Apne girebaan mein jhaankne ki fursat nahi aur padosi ki nuqtaa chini karte hain.
On Mr Ramadoss, he is a fame hog…does he have the guts to cancel licenses of multi million dollar liquor and smoke deals? When he does indeed Cancel them, then the public will take his word seriously… warna itz merely a political nautanki..
Reading thru so many varied responses from hundreds of bloggers I must admit ki iss Agnipath pe chale ho aap akele ..dekhte hi dekhte kaarvaan sang ho gaya hain. Keep up the good work Sir.

Welcome back…as your ever faithful fan I thought I should let you know we r with u every step of the way..
I can totally imagine an industry where insecurity is prevalent people get highly insecure of a superstar/icon’s presence and just want to stir chaos for ATTENTION…
In the same vein I thought I should bring to your notice the strange happenings in my life.”CERTAIN ELEMENTS” Who don’t even have the audacity to come upfront and attack have been manupilating and subtly attempting to sabotage my images and credibility in the media…firstly my phones are bugged and all my hard work of trying to meet and fimiliarize myself with the people in the industry are stolen off my contact list of my email a/c…the jobs that belOng to me are very slyly stolen and given to other more mainstream actresses….also its made sure that no pr agent or secretary takes up my account so that I have to work doubly hard and now its taking its toll on my health.
Infact emails from my email a/c are mysteriously deleted so that I am made to believe I don’t belong here…I don’t know who this is and that’s what killing me…As you being the ultimate inspiration to millions I would just request you to answer me a simple question…If you were to walk a mile in my shoes…what would have you done in my place?
I am not even sure if I will get ur reply on email as I suspect my account is manupilated …..so sir if you have a minute to spare would love ur reply over sms…my digits are 9820034162…will await your response….

Dear Mr. Bacchan,
With no offense to you or Mr Salim Khan or anybody for that matter (except the State Police may be), I would really like to question the credibility of that report. Not that the jury members of the report wouldn’t be credible, its the source that I question, which they might have been fed with to come up with such a report.
My idea of judging the crime rate in any state is by going at the grass root level. In my past 2 years in UP, though in the urban Noida, I have come across so may incidents around me (few including my frnds) that I am just unable to digest the so called “fact” which places UP at almost the bottom of the report. I can compare this with my native state where I have spent a good quarter of my life. Again reiterating, I am not pro-mystate or against-UP sorts.
Coming the source, the primary source of Crime Rate would be the First Information Report. What if the FIR is not lodged at all for a crime? Not that people DONT lodge it, its just NOT Lodged. A common man would have to go pillar to post, looking for some sifarish to get the FIR lodged. Thats the plight of a common man which those sitting at the top are too happy to ignore. Perhaps because they themselves dont want their states name to appear at the top in such a list.
Thats my view of the things, I could be wrong. But I guess its worth a thought, isnt it?

Mohit Arora

Inspite of your well known modesty I would suggest that you change the message from ‘Landed’ to ‘Arrived’ when you reach your destination. You see, Sir, when ordinary mortals like the most of us reach a place, we either ‘reach’ or ‘land’ depending on the mode of transport chosen by us.
However, when Mr. Amitabh Bachchan reaches his destination, he actually ‘Arrives’, since his ‘arrival’ is announced in newspapers!

Respected Amitji,
I happened to watch your interview on NDTV last night. My admiration for you has increased ‘infinite’ times. To-the-point replies in the interview and your decision to reach out to the common people like us through this blog is admirable. You are really the cultural ambassador of India. We love you. Your dignified silence through out these years of ups and downs are also worth following by anyone on this earth which will create a peaceful atmosphere if followed by each and every one. You are a very balanced person with all humility. May god shower his choicest blessings on you. Take care and continue your good work for the society.

Dear Amitabh, I am elated to read that you count us amongst your extended family. Please do not be upset by what Salim saheb writes about you. I read in the paper some weeks back that after Raj launched a tirate against north indians specifically mentioning you Mr Salim and his son issued a signed statement in favour of Raj. The son later withdrew but the father stood firm. And now to reinforce, the father has again come up against you. I believe Mr Salim has to buy peace for his son and he believes Raj can be effective and instgrumental in sorting out many a criminal cases against the son. Hence he wants to show and prove his loyalty tgowards him. And there could not be a better way than to abuse Mr. Bachchan.
Mr. Salim should spend his remaining years peacefully. He might have been a wizard of words some 30 years back, but now he is a finished inkless pen. He should not have ventured to antagonise a trusted fried like you. We can only pity upon him. What right he has got to question your integrity or the wisdom of your friends. May be Mr. Salim is actively considering to join active politics. Raj has to find some pliables to fight election on his party symbols. Long live Mr. Bachchan. We need you ;and India needs you. Be fearless and fight injustice.Harish Srivastava

Dear Sir,
I always pray to god to keep you safe healthy and young forever as you have illuminated our hearts by giving powerful statements “Like Sangharsh hi jeevan hai” and moreover I have been more empowered when you said about Veer Jara that sharukh khan bade ahchce admi hai aur unke sahare se hamain bhi thoda kam milta rahta hai, really I was stunned hearing the line how bigger heart, higher thoughts, and and really …. no words more.
I am always under your obligation . Had I not seen or heard of you, I wont have been today where I am. If god will wish , I will see you, and tell you
what wonderful magic has been with my life. I thank with my all deep of hearts.
My 6 years old baby shreya insists saying , papa pls wo channel lagao jahan amitan bachchan uncle arahe hon.
With best prayers to god for your happiness .
