It is late, beyond mid night and i open a page from my fathers autobiography.
The narration hinges on the last moments of the death of his first wife, Shyama. It is mid night. She is breathing her last, the strained sound of her labored breath tearing him into pieces with a saw. And my father wonders, why is it that every thing that is delicate, harsh, mysterious or romantic have to take place in the middle of the night. Literature has many examples of these he states -
Hamlet meets his father’s ghost in the middle of the night.
Macbeth murders King Duncan in the middle of the night. Romeo reaches the bedroom of Juliet in the middle of the night. Mephistopholes, the devil, appears within the thoughts of Faust in the middle of the night, with who’s hands he destroys his soul. Prince Siddharth decides to leave the pleasures and comforts of home in the middle of the night. Ram embraces the wounded body of Lakshman and laments in the middle of the night. Raja Dashrath looses his eye sight in the sorrow of the absence of Ram in the middle of the night. And it is in the middle of the night that his thoughts remember Shravan Kumar and in the middle of the night it is, that he sacrifices his life.
The poet and the litterateur have often chosen this moment by looking at a conducive condition in the atmosphere. Philosophically It is often a moment when nature exhibits deeds that can be done or not be done - a to be or not to be situation, when equal forces pulling each other in opposite directions, come to a zero condition. And then if there were to be even the slightest pressure on either side the entire body would move in the same direction. Mid night says my father, could well be the symbol of the mid point in the stresses of two forces. Is it any wonder then, that the stresses that humans suffer, nature suffers them too.
I wonder if my own personal stresses culminate at that one central moment in nature, when equal forces exert pressure in opposite directions and bring the condition to zero.
How poetic the elucidation of mid night !
And many among you express concern for my health, for not keeping proper time !
More love -

When dawn comes night will fade away……I wonder why and where did
the black beauty end being tarnished with the curse of the vile. The night
is the lady that gathers in her arms the elements that shy in the day. She gives
them the right to be. She throws around lovers her cloak of existense soothing
their racing hearts with her peace. When light gives away to the dark, it gives
world an opportunity to be. To let go of all pretence and live a life of reality.

My father also reads a lot, but never writes anything. Instead his words and actions are within the moral framework, just like you. You are lucky that you have a medium to express and you are using this well. Whenever you feel that writing like this is repeatation & boring, just start growing ‘organic vegetables’ for the masses. It will have Satya, Ahimsa, Samaj-seva everything. Otherwise people think they are eating rice, pulse, apple, potato etc.(as visible to them), but actually that is fertilizer. Is this the offering of 21st Century ?
