Nasik, still on location for ‘Shoebite’ May 8, 2008 6:06 pm

Encouraged by the enthusiastic responses to my media clarifications, I wish to comment on some more. A few lament the futility of it all and that, apart from it giving more publicity to the named journal it does nothing else. Media needs no publicity. They are all well known and well circulated tabloids and journals, have a committed readership, and a prestigious standing.

The blog has no rules as to what its contents will promise. Readers are free to go there or if it is not deserving, to abstain from it. This is surely, your democratic choice.

I write what I feel, needs to be written – even if there is just one that reads it !!

Ms. Bharti Dubey, by line/TNN, writes in Times of India, Mumbai,Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Times City Page 4 – ‘Big B plays committed politician’

She talks of our up coming film ‘Sarkar Raj’, the supposed plot according to ‘industry sources’ and the film being, according to sources, an answer to allegations made on migrants and outsiders in Maharashtra. It quotes a promo, and construes it as a rejoinder to the current situation, ‘however weak’.

Dear lady, firstly – Sarkar Raj was shot in a non stop schedule in Hyderabad, a year ago. The migrant issue you talk of and relate the film to, came up only a couple of months back. Your desire to link it with events more recent, questions your research capabilities. It also is a firm pointer towards how you, in order to sensationalize your column, will forego details and facts.

Secondly - I have noticed through definite proof of stored sms’s, that every time the migrant issue has erupted, you have been the first one to ask me for a response.

“Sir ! They are throwing bottles at your house ! What do you have to say !”

“Sir ! North Indians are under attack, please give your response !”

Bharti Dubey, you are from the Northern regions of our land. Is it your own personal sense of insecurity that makes you desperate for a response, or in usual journalistic fashion, are you seeking comments from me which would indeed form your own defence !! Get the drift ??

You come out looking clean. You have got someone else to say what indeed you wanted to say. And ha..ha.. you actually get paid for it !!

My dear, neither the film or the promo you wrongly mention as a rejoinder, is ‘weak’.

Your article is of very poor quality. Your article is weak. Very weak !! In fact its quite a flop !!

Love and respect,

Amitabh Bachchan
