Screen, the respected film paper, with changed editor contains an article – Windows 2008, by Kenneth Lobo, on the recent burst of celebrity blogging.
Compares the blogs of Aamir Khan and yours truly. Compliments the material on Aamir’s stand on the Olympic Torch and refers to mine as one that ‘rambles on’ !
‘Rambles on’ !!
Mr Lobo !! Forget all else on my blog, would my committed speech on female infanticide at the launch of Shobha De’s book, be a ramble !! Maybe, your own sensibilities on this issue need to be defined. Tell me, and through this blog the world, what really are your views on equality in womanhood. Do you still fall, in most degrading manner, in the category of those chauvinists, who live in archaic and de humanized beliefs. Speak up Mr Lobo ! You are the conscience keepers of the world.

Minister Ramadoss has had a bad day today. Dr Venugopal the renowned and most qualified director who headed AIIMS, the national medical institute, and who was most unceremoniously removed from his post, is back after winning in the Honourable High Court, his reinstatement.
But I have another observation. The Times carried a bold review of some of our statements on the desired banning of drinking scenes in films. But on the very next page carried an even bolder review of the massive increase in production of wine in the country, accompanied by glorified figures of past and present statistics.
Mr Ramadoss, the Government is taking pride in the increased production of alcohol, you are wanting actors to stop drinking scenes because they encourage alcoholism. Tell me how are you expecting the consumption of this enhanced wine production in the land ??

Ramadoss is only interested in targeting Bollywood actors on drinking, smoking and eating potato chips, or trying to get rid of an eminent doctor from AIIMS. He diverts attention from real issues. His latest achievement is suppressing true extent of deaths due to chikungunya. It is reported that there could have been up to 19,000 deaths in 2006, close to 3,000 deaths in Ahmedabad alone. But our Health Minister has misled the country by stating ‘zero deaths’ repeatedly as The Telegraph reports in a front page article… http://www.telegraphindia.com/1080531/jsp/frontpage/story_9345606.jsp
