Film City, Mumbai May 24, 2008 7:20 pm on the sets of ‘Aladin’ / 11:03 am on May 25.

What an amazing instrument the mind is. Functioning tirelessly, in consuming in emitting, absorbing and repelling. It forms opinions, gives us the capacity to uphold ours, to reject at times others. It gives us character to forebear and strength to suffer.

Human beings utilize just 33 % of it during their entire life. 67 % remains unutilized.

That is a large percentage of vacant dormant brain power !

Most readers express concern and surprise at my hours and intensity of work through a single day. If you have the will and desire, the body will walk with you. If you will push, it will respond. If we do not, we shall never know its limit. The consumption of the mind is never read out to us; there is no meter. But if there were to be one I would have loved to read at the end of my life that I consumed a percentage more than the average. 33 % to 34 % !

The mind ! Beautiful in its bearing. Beautiful in its demeanor.

Relaxed and unmindful one moment, stressed and overflowing the other.

I was so today as the morning came. Pressured by work, apprehensive by deed, uncertain by consequence. The reflection in the mirror fogged and wrinkled.

Then suddenly – a flash !

The mirror became happy. The feet strode confidently towards the camera. You could feel the clouds underneath you and the air of assurance bursting through the lungs.

Thank you Harneet, my journalistic acquaintance from the Indian Express. Your text message on my mobile appreciating and lauding the blog of DAY 35, turned the day for me. Your understanding of my emotions and the additions to them read and re read several times, now stored in an important folder within me.

Appreciation is always welcome. But when it is linked with emotion, it’s strength multiplies.

And I hurriedly pull out some other folders – Shobha De and her gutsy encouragement, ‘Bravo ! Amitabh’, Upala from MidDay and her link and connection to an earlier blog of her own personal experience, Amul from MidDay again and his kind words of caution, Vivek from MumbaiMirror…

Thank you. You have all been gracious and kind.

And even though some comments disagree about the mention of personal remarks on the blog, I must perforce agree with my desire to indeed mention them on mine, because my conscience and my will desires so.

And so too I appreciate Jitesh Parekh, a commentator on my blog, for his words of appreciation. And disagree, humbly with his remarks on journalists. They are human too Jitesh. There is no hatred or malice in their writing, nor in mine. They exercise their right of free expression. And I ?

I attempt to demonstrate, somewhat abruptly and angularly but with the soul of great magnanimity and rectitude the need for eternal vigilance to guard that gift of freedom.

And indeed of many of our freedoms !

And many write in their reactions and compliments. And some do not.

Pradnya Danke does. I thank her and her husband and brother-in-law and the next generation 5 yr old for their respect even though she may think that her English is poor.

Amrita wishes for me to use a less flowery language for her to understand. I shall endeavor. But flowery accusations or comments will and should get flowery responses.

Navin, Suresh and Aniket express resentment at my answers to some of the editors. But I plod along with my belief in the need for eternal vigilance. It is the price we all need to pay to value the importance of our democratic freedom.

Purvi Dani, I am happy to know that my father’s words have influenced you. You ask how to face betrayal from those that have been close to you. You are fortunate that you are now aware of it. Imagine if you never did and the harm it would have continuously created to your faith and trust. Those that have betrayed you have shown you their face and character. What a benefit for you. You have come to learn that that is a face and character you should never possess.

Amit, wishes that I declare ShahRukh my successor and remove all further discussion and argument on this unnecessary and ill founded topic. But of course he is. He is the ruling superstar of the nation and almost a sixth of the world ! There can never be debate on this. But naming a successor would imply that there is an existing dynastic ruler. I do not believe there is one.

Veena wants a translation of my father’s autobiography in English. My father’s autobiography is in 4 volumes and an abridged translation in English exists. It is called ‘In the Afternoon of Time’ by Rupert Snell, a Hindi reader in the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and is published by Viking Penguin India, Delhi. The official launch of the book was done several years ago by the great columnist, Khushwant Singh, an old and dear friend of my parents.

Saba, from Pakistan – thank you for enjoying ‘BhoothNath’

Ketan Kothari – I am amazed at your condition. You are blind and you read and respond to my blog ! I am so touched.

Smita Pandit – I have been moved by your description of your Bhuaji and her correspondence with my father. I am happy that in some way he was able to provide solace to her. I am collecting all I can of my father’s letters, photographs written to friends and colleagues. I shall be most grateful if you could send me a Xerox copy of your collection of your Bhuaji’s letters received from my father. Just mark it to my office in Juhu, Mumbai.

Kunal has bumped into me at the Grand Marriott the other evening and has regrets of not being able to come up to me even though he was so close. But, you should have. It was my ‘samdhan’s’ , Aishwarya’s mother’s birthday and we had just taken her out for dinner.

Rohit Bhutoria mentions the tears that rolled down his cheeks as he read the blog. Rohit, may your tears ever roll down your cheeks in happiness and happiness alone. May there never be a sad moment ever in your life.

Debashish talks of my father’s poems being in his study curriculum and puts me in a category of great elevation in front of my father. Wrong. Very wrong. People will forget me in a few years, or earlier, but they will remember my father for thousands of years ! I can never be compared to him.

Soumik, my father’s thesis is indeed in print. In fact it is coincidental that you talk of publishing it, just when I have only today set up a meeting to reprint it in a fresh format.

Sagar – thank you for your comments and please thank your friend Sandip for introducing you to my blog. Your English is fine. If you are uncomfortable in it write in Hindi or Marathi. Jai Maharashtra.

Vibhuti Love – your grand father’s ( Shri Krishna Mittra ) poem was beautiful. I am certain that if you write to my office in Mumbai they could set up a meeting in Delhi for us to meet. I visit Delhi often. My daughter is married there.

Fozia Bashir still wonders if I write my own blog. Yes I do and it is people like you that give me the inspiration to do so.

Swamy asserts that in my responses to the media I should not be so blunt. Alright. Lets take a vote on that. Those in favor say ‘yes’, those not say ‘no’.

A blunt remark invites a blunt retort. It does not signify hatred. When media writes bluntly it is not to express hate towards me. So too with me.

Priyanka ! Never ever say ‘aapko meri umar lag jaye’. I am not deserving of such blessing.

And from Cairo, Egypt, the city and the people that gave me so much affection and love during my visit in the 1990’s, Rasha Zayed, thank you.

Sreeram talks of his Sanskrit teacher’s comparison between my father and me. How wonderfully and correctly put; that my father’s creative contribution is greater than mine because it is easy to act an emotion in front of a camera and film with all its technical inputs to enhance the moment, but indeed very difficult to do all of that by writing mere words. So correct.

Varsha Rai, I note your observation of the incorrectness in taking pot shots at Hollywood celebrities. I submit to that and express regret. In fact, it is strange that you mention this because Aishwarya on reading it had expressed similar sentiment. But before I could change the contents the server had already posted it.

Perdy Mohindru from Auckland, NZ thank you for writing in.

Nina Arora, your mother’s gracious memories are so valuable in time. ‘Is paar priye madhu hai tum ho, us paar na jane kya hoga’ and so many others. I shall try.

And Subbu, thank you too of the many references you give of my father’s works. They are my favorites as well.

Ajay Singh ji – your quote of my father’s poem is wrong. The correct words are –

‘bair badhate mandir masjid,

mail karati madhushala ‘ !

Harish Srivastava wishes to know more of the incident about Gandhi ji and Madhushala. Well, when my father wrote the poem, 135 verses of it, in 1933 its first public recitation was conducted by him at the Shivaji Hall of the Benaras Hindu University at a poetic symposium. There was such an immediate and stupendous response to it that overnight my father became a national celebrity. His work and his style created a new ‘vaad’, the ‘halavaad’ in poetic literature. As his popularity grew envious and vested interests spread a vicious and unjust campaign against him by stating that Bachchan was propagating alcoholism, completely missing the deeper symbolic meaning of his work. News reached the Mahatma and he expressed a desire to meet the poet during a literary symposium that he was chairing in Indore. My father was presented before him and asked to recite Madhushala. After the recitation was over, Gandhi ji said ‘There’s no wine-glorifying in these verses !’.

With this exoneration my father took leave, being the first and last time he had sat in such close proximity to the Great Man.

Gsr – thank you for your one-ness and I have noted that some of my harsh comments to the media have been depressing for you. I would never wish that to happen to anyone. But perhaps you can now assuage how depressing it is for us to withstand their harsh words. All the same I value your observation and shall endeavor to speak of other topics as well.

Abhishek – you are right ‘ bachchon ke beech ki bahas mein, bahas nahin karni chahiye’ !

Tunna – you have desired that I talk of my films and their craft more often. Point taken and I shall initiate that soon by writing about my experiences on ‘Aladin’ and the craft employed because it is a technical novelty.

Whew !

I have tried to cover randomly as many comments as I possibly could address. The search is on and the effort, for more as well. I shall persist. Your comments are invaluable to me and to my existence.

In ending today I must confess I had never expected to find such a large section of the readers to have interest in words of literary consequence. That there breathes a sensitive poet in all of you is a delightful revelation.

And that you pay homage to my father is my greatest honor.

My love as always with you –

    Dear Sir,
I cant believe that I am writing to you. It is a great honor to be writing to you. I am a big fan of yours and I was brought up on a staple diet of your sholay dialogues ( my dad is a bigger fan and he knows all your movies and their dialogues) I have been a ardent reader of your blog and I am deeply saddened by the recent posts. You have been hitting back at the media quite a lot and giving out explanations and defending your family a lot. Sir, you seem to have forgotten the golden rules. The media is like a big fart. It is air and it stinks, but you cant beat it or hurt it.. you just have to close your nose and let it pass. DONT REACT. When you react you hurt your image which you have painstakingly cultivated. When elephants walk, dogs bark. The elephant shouldnt take note of it.. just walk by..

It has become a staple of the media to take potshots at you knowing that you would react and then they would get 15 minutes of fame at your expense. Why give them that opportunity. We all know for who you are and what you are. So my humble request to you is please dont react. Update us with your thoughts, philosophies, your movies, your joys, your family and not reactions to the loop balls thrown at you by the media. I miss the stoic Amitabh who used to take all shots on his chin and smile through it and come out shining like a diamond. I miss that genuine diamond of a man.

    Lots of love

  7. Lopamudra... my wait is still on says:

    Dear Sir,
My life is not as happening as your other fans, but i feel that i have been leading a successful life in my own terms (others are not harmed though). May be you will think i have not lived a life long enough(21 now) yet to say its success or failure but ever since i came to know about you i learnt to take life as it comes. I started feeling that each day brings with it a different challenge and i try to face it atleast if not win it. I read a book by you where there are excerpts that were quoted in KBC and some more. There i learnt to think positive for everything because “maan ka ho to achcha hai na ho to zyaada acha”. Ever since i saw the real person in you in KBC i became your FOLLOWER rather than fan. I respect your work, like some, dislike few(though i feel i am not qualified enough for that), but what i really admire is the human being in you. Not many people in this world today have lead a life with so much dignity as u have done. Challenges came and you faced them boldly. You hat pitfalls but you came out of them and continued the run again. This unending energy in yourself is what inspires me so much. Even at this age you are living life to the fullest and I salute you for the same . I really respect you very much from the core of my heart.
Very similar to the story of your other fans, i had also visited mumbai back in 2003 after giving my class 10(now i am doing my engineering degree, about to enter final year). I managed to go to Jalsa gate but obviously in vain. No complaints for that as i understand its not possible for you to meet each and every admirer of yours. I had also sent some letters to you with no reply. Today i feel really guilty that once i had sent a letter to your secretary blaming the person for no reply. I am really sorry and apologise for that. It was then that i received a letter from you in which you said you would manage sometime to meet me. This letter(along with To Be Or Not To Be Amitabh Bachchan which i had bought with my pocket money after class 10 ) are my most expensive possessions after the priceless possesions of my love (Kaushik) and my younger brother(Subhodeep). It has been three years since i got that letter but didnt manage to get a chance to meet you. But to be honest that has given me the urge to become a big name. Hope one day I can be a name big enough to get an appointment from you.
    Wishing you all the best,
Hope the get your blessings sir,
    your admirer

    Hello Mr Bachchan,
Your writings today are very similar to your ads”kuch meethat ho jaye”.There are always people speaking good about people as they do about mahatma gandhi ..but at the same time its very important to reach to that level.
You might not consider yourself to be a born leader but you have great ability .We need a leader in today s india continue to teach people leading the life the right way(IF there is ANY) as they listen to you and believe you…and that can make great diffrence to our country.
After shobha de s blog ..I happend to read about aishwarya in her interview and must congratulate her for holding her head high with dignity amongst other celebrities.I dont think her dress needed an Iron. What a blooper shobha de.
    Great Work Bachchans…All of you.

    Dear Amitabh ji,

Namaskar. “Kshama sohti us bhujang ko, jiske paas garal ho” Dinkar ji ne likha hai. Your studied silence would have taken away the hype from the unethical, gimmik of some of the journalists. Why it is that intellectual and knowledgeable people in journalism do not say a single bad word about you or your family?
You have the power to retort and reply to the journalists. It would have been worth it, if what the journalists say, have substance in it. Reacting to baseless gossip like journalistic expressions will only make us believe that there might have been some truth in it which made you feel uncomfortable and thus your rude response.

    Sir,

I would be interested in knowing your thoughts about the declining status of Hindi in India. For example, most of our Hindi film actors cannot converse in Hindi - all award functions are conducted in English. I understand that they come from different states and Hindi is not their first language, but shouldn’t they learn it since all the movies they act in are in Hindi? I am using the film industry only as an example, no offence intended.

    Respected Sir,

Since you’ve asked for a vote from your readers whether you should continue to respond to the media, my vote is :

” YES! PLEASE HIT THEM BACK!”

I don’t think your responses increase the readership of their column since you’ve quite ingeniously included their articles online, which makes it unnecessary for us to go verify the concerned articles in those newspapers.
But by questioning the authenticity of their tall claims, you definitely show us readers their true faces.
Also not to reply would mean a quiet submission or even worse an admittance to their allegations!
Just don’t spend too much time/energy while doing so, they’re definitely not THAT deserving !
    Warm Regards,
    Manhar.

  19. AR RAHMAN & JEFFREY ARCHER says:

    Respected Sir,

i had some queries , actually two:-

    1. Am a great FAN of AR RAHMAN , you once said that “Rahman and MANI. it seemed as if Rahman saw the film before hand Mani Directed it, for his music and background music automatically emoted what Mani wanted to show.”

i mean something to this effect,
    such a superb observation,

My query is :- ” you don’t have a single film with him. I mean except lagaan where you gave your mesmerising Voice.”

“i Want you to dance to his tunes :-)

    2. What propels people like you to work so hard,,,,I mean people like RAHMAN , and yourself.

    Jeffrey archer says :-

“If you ask sachin , how can he hit those exquisite cover drives: his answere would be i don’t know,
similarly if you ask me how do i come up with the story plots, his answer would be : I Don’t Know.”

  20. Elaine says:

Greetings, again from near Seattle! This has been a very good day. I am refreshed by a day in the garden, the flowers, the birds, and music in the background. I had time to continue to meditate on your father’s writing, which you had shared. I do indeed find great joy in discovering this author, through his son, an actor I admire!

As to “voting” on being bold and blunt with answers to the media, I vote that you continue to be yourself, and write what you feel. This is your blog, and it is your feeling you are expressing. As my grandfather taught us as children, so long as we “own” (take responsibility for) what words come from our mouth, our actions, our writings, we must also take ownership of the consequences of these things we do and say. From your writings, it is my understanding that you do, indeed, agree that to be a true statement. Further, that you are very willing to “own” your words, and the results or consequences of your own writings.

What more can be said to these detractors? I will quote what is attributed to Shakespeare,”To thine own self be true.” Wearing a false face and smiling when you are unsettled inside is NOT to be true to yourself, and may actually cause harm in health.

Statements about brain use… yes! I have read this, and how good of you to bring up this subject to think on. I advise you to use as much of your brain daily as you are able, and I take your advice to push further! What if….? But what if you do not….? Does it not cause remorse and regret later in life, if we always live life to be on the margin? Should we not “get in the game”? I am resolving to be more engaged in my own life! Being a woman, it is one thing I have admired in the actions and life of Jaya-ji, and to some level, also being followed by Aishwarya in her life. These women are active, engaged in their family, but also in outside life. I suspect your own blessed mother was the same!

    My love and respect,

    Elaine

    Sir,

As an afterthought, I want to add: False and baseless accusations and crticisms are faced by most of the public figures. Even Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Dalai Lama (by Chinese government) were not spared. But people who believed in them, went by thier conviction and understanding of those noble characters and not by what illgotten journalists have to say about them. As other bloggers have said, we know and believe in you. Do you think that the mindless writings of the gutter press and the slander will change our opinion about you. Certainly “NO”; and thus the appeal not to waste your valuable time and energy on replying to them but entertain us with your work and enlighten us with the philosophy and inspiring tales of your parents.

    Hello Mr Bachchan,
I appreciate the way you handle all the criticism from the “Media”. Though i live in America, I never knew that Mrs. Aishwariya Bachchan had appeared on the Oprah and David Letterman shows. It can be said that she was representing India there. I thought she was very diplomatic and conduted herself beautifully. So why did people “trash” her appearances? For me, your best appearance has been on the Sitcom Koffe with Karan when you appeared with your son, Abhishek Bachchan. Can we look forward to see you two coming together on such a reality show? I have studied your father’s poetry in school. It was really deep and at times difficult for us to understand. Have you thought of compiling your poetry into a book??If I am not wrong, you have done three films with cinematographer, Manmohan Singh. Looking forward to your reply. Please don’t mind it, but I believe your father has been a much bigger success than you, purely in relative terms.

The medium that you work in, is much more popular and even the times have changed, but his work remains unparalleled.

His words , recited by you in BACHCHAN RECITES BACHCHAN, and ofcourse MADHUSHALA sung by Mr. Manna Dey are my proudest possessions.

I bought a video cassette ( that were the only available format at the time of its release in my hometown ), of AGNEEPATH, only to get inspired by your rendition of the”Agneepath” at the climax……..Wow ! what words……and your rendition………fabulous !!!!!!

You have lots of will power and strength to carry on with your hectic schedule, unmindful of the barbs people aim at you, but I have a feeling, and I hope you agree, that Bachchan Saheb’s words play an integral part in providing you with this seamless energy and power to take this world head on.

Forgive me , if I am wrong……but that is what I feel and just wanted you to know………

    Carry on Sir………

    with best regards,

    Anuj Gaur.

    Dearest Amit sir

i feel so glad that that you take so much time out to reply to your fans.I am overwhelmed, and as the days are passing each second makes me a great admirer of you

i was reading a article by you in harmony magazine published in 2005 about your father. just like your journal it moved me very much

    it was “MY Father,MY Hero”

    My father, my hero
By Amitabh Bachchan(This article was featured in
    Harmony Magazine July 2005)
From a very young age, my brother and I knew that our
father-Harivansh Rai Bachchan-was very special and that he needed
his space. The kind of adulation he received was an indicator of who
he was. Today, I too have many fans but my place in show business is
nothing compared to the popularity he commanded.
He made sure he answered each and every fan letter
personally, even posted them. I wish I could emulate that but I
don’t have his perseverance. I want to compile some of these letters
into a book. Some of his friends have already published volumes of
his letters, but there must be hundreds of them still out there. I
want to do this, even if it is just something for the family to
    remember him by.
He wrote us countless letters when we were at boarding school or
working away from home. They did not just have the regular
information like ‘I am well and your mother’s well too’ but also
contained small stories, a little anecdote or a proverb that moulded
our thought process. When we were at home, he always found time to
converse with us during dinner. The conversations and the priceless
letters he wrote to us were rich with teachings and stories about
life and how to live it. On occasions when we needed his physical
presence, he would be there by our side.
My father had immense will power and determination. I have seen
him work 22 hours non-stop to meet a deadline, being 120 per cent
committed to the job at hand. Even when he was unwell, he maintained
a strict schedule that was set around his meal hours, medication
time and physiotherapy. That is another quality I try to follow as
    much as I can.
He was almost immobile in his last years. He used to sit in his
wheelchair at one particular space in the living room. One day, I
came to him exasperated with life and said, “Kya sangarsh karna
padta hai” (Life is such a struggle). He looked at me and said, “Jab
tak jeevan hai tab tak sangarsh hai” (Till there is life, there is
struggle). It was an eye-opener. Here I was thinking that all my
responsibilities were over and that I didn’t have to think any more
but, in reality, as long as I am alive, there will be struggle. How
we face and overcome these struggles is what makes a human beingout
of us-a superior human being if we succeed, or an inferior one if we
    succumb to them.
Now when I feel like talking to him, I read his books. If I still
don’t find what I am looking for, I imagine what he would have told
me if he were alive. The most complex problems will have the
simplest of solutions if we look at them correctly and with the
right attitude. That’s what my father did and he answered all our
    doubts.
We discovered that in his poetry too, he put simple words
    together to provide profound insight:

Jo beet gayee so baat gayee.
    Jeevan mein ek sitara tha,
    Mana woh behad pyara tha,
Woh dub gaya to dub gaya.
Things will go wrong but you don’t need to fret over them.Life will go on.
I still follow one of the things he taught us-each morning when I
wake up I tell myself, ‘Everyday, in every way, I am getting better
and better.’ I genuinely feel good. Today, I tell my family to say
these words with conviction and see the effect it has on them. That
    is my father’s legacy.

Yor each word is not only powerfull but they ust inspire the life of millions..I thank you for being such a great human being.

    Dear Sir,

It comes to me as no surprise when I come to read your lines that “If you have the will and desire, the body will walk with you. If you will push, it will respond. If we do not, we shall never know its limit.”
I am a professional singer (www.musicofdhwani.com), a finance professional, a faithful husband, a responsible son and a loving brother all rolled in one. It sometimes becomes very difficult to fulfill all these roles in a single day and sometimes I feel it is no different from the innumerous roles which you have portrayed in reel life which have had such an imapact on the comman man.
But I have made it a point that no matter what, I will give whatever I have in me, to live all these roles successfully like the way you have done so amazingly well. I want to make it big in bollywood as a playback singer someday.
When I see that at this age also, you have such energy in fulfilling all the roles that you also go through, I can realy connect with your ways of going through so many roles in your reel and real life. You are pushing all the limits of the body and soul and infact I also do the same thing.
You are an inspiration and I learn a lot from you on each day of my existence.
Thank you for everything and god bless you and your family everlasting happiness, good health and prosperity.

Asia’s richest man, Mr. Li Ka Shing (He sold Hutch India to Vodafone) at a press conference couple of days ago, complained that

    1) While he was visiting his wife’s grave, reporters brought a mad woman to harrass him.

    2) Media sent bouncer type reporters to photograph his grand child in Kindergarden.

Is this right ? Are reporters not human ? Do they not treasure their privacy ?

How low will they stoop for sensational scoops ? Do they not have any ethics ?

The elephant shouldnt take note of it.. just walk by..//

    elephants walk away…but TIGER?
let us forget amitabh for now..and consider you..
if someone in your office..tells something bad about you.which is not true..
then what will you do..you will try to tell as many people as possible..
that ..wat someone has said about you is absolutely rubbish..and make them believe that you are right..thats is the humane nature..
by telling more and more people..you anger/frustration/helplessness will be at ease..this is heart..!
When something is wrong and if you share with someone, your heart’s weight will decrease..i hope u got my point…

Its cool that you are writing a blog.

But I am sure there will be some compensation for you. And you surely deserve it. With your blog, you are reaching your fans and also it is a commercial venture for bigadda.

I would like to offer a PERMANANT PICTURE/FLAH AD in the first page right at the top in my blog. This ad will lead to your blog and also to big adda website. This ad will be permanant. To those who are comparing you with these new actors that have popped up, the comparison should have been between actors from your time. Most of the current actors have the advantage of special sound and video effects and more competitive stories. I can imagine your rule if we brought back the Amitabh of those days. At your age, you are doing wonders already. You have become the envy of actors who can’t digest your success, of journalists and politicians, etc.

    Amitji,
Here is my vote on below:-

“Swamy asserts that in my responses to the media I should not be so blunt. Alright. Lets take a vote on that. Those in favor say ‘yes’, those not say ‘no’.”

I am “Totally Disagree” with Mr. Swamy. You should be “more harsh and blunt” (as i found you are soft compared to them) on media or journalist or whoever it may be, writing baseless articles to malign your image and directly attacking you and your family just to get the cheap publicity. Now its become a fashion, whoever wants to be in limelight or attention from masses (people) simply targeting you. Please listen to your inner voice as this will guide you through every moment of your life. Don’t bother about anybody…..like “Mujhe jo accha lagta hai mai woh karta hu..” we all are with you.

I would like to ask one thing to Mr. Swamy….How you would have reacted when someone abuses you….target your family….make false and baseless allegation against you…..always after you?? Would you be gentle on them?? Would you have pampered them or thanks them?? I guess you would have filed defamation case or must have manhandled them. Isn’t it Mr. Swamy?? Keep one thing in mind always “har ek baat ka ant hota hai”….Enough is Enough!!
He has been keeping mum since long time….He has every right to defend himself and his family from false allegation. Is it wrong to defend oneself??

“Tu na thamega kabhi, Tu na Mudega kabhi, Kar shapath…..kar shapath….kar shapath….Agni path… Agni path.

    With Love

    Dear Amitji,
I agree if Media can be blunt so can be Amitji without annomisity against anyone. As you have asked i am voting for you. Amitji i would wish and would suggest us to share your experiences with us…Be it like working with Manmohan Desai who was a great director or say Ramesh Sippy or Prakash Mehra. Are they still directing movies. No actors could have worked with so many directors as you. Sir earlier Man Ji would be directing you and now say Karan Johar is directing you. How does it feel ? We know more about your makeup man but not about these directors in your words. We would wish to know the hard work of the technical people involved in movies. They do hard work too but indian masses gives credit only to actors who portray characters
    on screen.

I don’t know from where to start. I feel as if my part dream is being fullfilled by interacting with u through this blog.I wish to meet u in person but till date i don’t find myself confident for same. I am devoted fan of yours.I am of 24yrs in age. Since early chilhood I have been seing your movies. The first movie which I saw of yours was Ganga Jamna Saraswati in1989 and since then I have been seing your almost all movies including in which you have guest appearance also.It was in the air that you shall not act in movies after the movie “khudha gawah” (Remember: Oye Lalley di jaan itna mat soch, soch gehri ho jaaye toh faisley kamzor ho jaatey hai”) on learning this I became so emotional that I wept for a few days,as you would not be seen in new movies. At that time media was not so active n offensive. I have all appreciation for your way of life, your expressions in Hindi,English. You have come out successfully from many ups n downs in your life n faced difficulties boldly n bravely.
I wish to interact wid you further more in future.

With blessing of Almighty you are in good state of health and I pray that youu enjoy good health and flawless success
I expect to recieve reply from your end.

My elder brother (AbirBose) and self even went to Bombay in 1989 to meet you personally to gift you my brother’s recorded songs (Ravindra Sangeet in Bengali and Hind). As the hindi translation was not up to the mark we wanted to take your help. Anyway, that’s an old story and my brother(Abir) is still serching his dreams.
I have a son(elder) and a daughter both working in Mumbai.I am staying in Kolkata with my wife. Our children are asking us to settle at Mumbai with them
I am working as fulltime Consultant with A PSU heading the (Purchase-Material Dept.). Earlier, I was based at Kanpur overseeing Northern India In the Marketing wing. Do I have an opening in Mumbai,? particularly to be with my children. I had been nursing a desire since long to join your Organisation in the capacity as you deem fit.
I do not know if you will read this as could not think of any other means to reach you directly.
One of my friend (with HMV then) presented me an audio cassettee “Bachchan Recites Bachchan”, since then I recite the poems in gatherings and on Hindi Divas also and believe me I am a hit on such ocassions. I am also inclined towards theatre and have acted in various Bengali and Hindi plays wherever I have been posted.I had acted in Hindi Doordarshan plays from Ranchi too.

Please suggest/direct me as you please.

I always wanted to ask you about one of your co-actors in many films , I don’t know his real name but was called PYAARE in most of 70’s flicks . In Kaalia he is a lame prisoner who sings song in jail , in Muqaddar ka sikandar he accompany’s you to mujra , in namak halal he is called bhairo singh and so on. i always tried to read between the line in your interaction with him in the reel life and formed a opinion that you two share a special relationship off films . Please comment on how freindly you were with him , and most importantly is he still alive ? I think he is a brilliant actor???
