‘Vikram V’, and ‘rad’ have put in a comment regarding the review of Poonam Joshi on Sarkar Raj.
They are right. The within brackets comment should read - Abhishek Bachchan’s wife in real, and not Amitabh.
Thank you Vikram V and ‘rad’. I shall inform the reviewer.

I apologise for using this forum to promote the cause of Dr.Binayak Sen, but figuring that a lot of people visit it, its a great place to put this for it to get noticed and this must become a part of the public conscience or we shall continue to punish those who have dedicated their lives to helping those most in need. No political agenda, just a plea for a man unjustly held as many hundreds continue to suffer.
“WEAK STATES MAKE BAD LAWS AND KILL THE MESSENGER
by Maja Daruwala
TRIBUNE INDIA
And the award goes to….. oops he is not here tonight ladies and gentlemen because he is in jail in India held under an infamously bad law. Human rights activist and public health specialist Dr Binayak Sen was not there in Washington on May 29 to collect his 2008 Jonathan Mann Award for Global Health and Human Rights.
He could not shake hands with the international jury of public health professionals who chose him for this singular honour. He could not hear the fine citation spoken in appreciation of his exemplary services to the poor and tribal communities and for his unwavering commitment to civil liberties and human rights.
Twenty-two Nobel Prize winning scientists and economists from across the globe had appealed to the Indian government that Dr Sen be allowed to receive the award in person in Washington DC. But Dr Sen remained in Raipur Jail, Chattisgarh. He has been there for over a year.
Dr Sen is President of the Chattisgarh chapter of the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) an old and extremely well respected organisation of champions of the constitutional way. He has been speaking out against police excesses in Naxal infested Chattisgarh and the Salwa Judum – a violent and indisciplined government sponsored counter-Naxal effort which has been thoroughly disapproved of in many quarters – most recently even by the Supreme Court.
Dr Sen was arrested for being a member of an unlawful association and a terrorist gang or organisation, holding the proceeds of a terrorist act and giving support to a terrorist organisation. For good measure, Sen has also been charged with ‘sedition’ and ‘conspiracy’ and waging war against the state.
A month after his arrest as if to bolt the door thrice, the police added charges claiming he acted as a courier for the Naxalites. The Chhattisgarh State Public Security Act, (CSPSA) 2005 and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 under which Dr Sen is being held in essence mimic the disgraced and repealed POTA and as Noam Chomsky points out, “are extremely vague and subjective in what is deemed unlawful and give arbitrary powers to the State to silence all manners of dissent.â€
These Acts – always allowed to remain on the books despite the demonstrable proof that their wide discretions are constantly misused - give officials wide latitude to detain people merely on the basis of their suspicions and nothing more. In law, suspicions always have to be reasonably grounded.
But given our laggard court system, challenges about whether it was reasonable to detain someone in the first place are guaranteed to take a long long time. In the meantime the nuisance person remains inside. Whether in the end the reasons are judged sound or untenable a citizen ends up locked up. The wider purpose of making an example of an inconvenient voice is served and a chill is cast on making any effective outcry against state policy.
After over a year, Sen’s trial is now in progress. Already three witnesses have turned hostile. At the same time another PUCL activist Ajay TG has also been arrested on similar charges. He too challenged authority by continuing to be very vocal about unlawful killings of adivasis, sexual assault on their women, abductions and forced displacement even after Dr Sen’s arrest.
The news out of Chattisgarh is bad. The Ministry of External Affairs should be worried. Its international image as an upholder of the rule of law is taking a pounding. The Ministry of Home Affairs should also be worried because across state lines, the counter-violence of Salwa Judum is fuelling the intensification of Naxal violence and that of other anti-state actors as they see justification for their own illegality mirrored in the illegalities of the Salwa Judum.
The news from Chattisgarh is indeed bad. But we must not kill the messenger because he says it to us. Our rulers must not loathe and fear human rights defenders. Human rights activists from the Mahatma to Dr Sen have long been the backbone of India’s struggle for rights, development and democracy. But sadly the State does not see them as allies in this great cause but, fearing criticism, treats them as enemies.
By their very nature, human rights defenders are defenders of the constitution dedicated to achieving its aims and ends. Laws like the CSPSA are not to be used against them. They are enacted not because Naxalites are too strong but because the state is too weak, with its law enforcement capacity dwindling and moral authority in tatters. But, it is true that non-violent critics are easier to catch and tame than violent opponents.

Hello Mr. Bachchan,
I am not sure if you read all the comments that are posted on your blog, but I thought to give it a try - so here it is. I will keep it short!
My husband is a big fan of yours. When I was a younger, I knew a couple people who were a big fan of yours and I always thought those people were crazy to be so crazy for some one… I mean celebrities are only humans..Now that I see my husband, I totally get what all your fans must feel like. He has all your movies on DVD. I have to record any and all your movies on my DVR, even though we have it on DVD. He does not have posters of you or anything, but loves you as an actor. One of his dreams is to meet you in person.. Lets see it that ever comes true..
I have always liked you a lot as an actor but I am not much into being a crazy fan of anyone.. just being honest…
Anyways, the more I see you and your family on TV the more I want to know about you guys.. I think the reason might be that I don’t know much about you.. it has always been rumors from the past and present…and it has always been hard to trust the media.. so here is my thought: You should write an Autobiography of yourself… It would be a BIG hit, you will make lot of money (not like you don’t already have so much of) and your fans will be able to get a better idea of who you are and what were the most fascinating, frightening, embarrassing experiences of your life…
Haha - I thought I was going to keep it short… as if! Anyways, have a nice day!
Dhruvi

You pasting his post on your blog is like Mother who in so blind love with his kid not ready to accept his mistake.

Dear Mr. Bachchan,
a small query which has been niggling me. Why are you defending sarkar raj so much. great work according to me does not need any support. (not that i think sarkar raj is great - not even close, but thats my personal opinion)…
i am really happy that the film is doing well as a hit is always welcome, but please lets not confuse it with great cinema, coz its not…if i am sounding a litlle abrupt in my tone, its coz its not like you to blow your own trumpet - it does not ring true.
another thing - with due respect to you, no one compares to Brando, not even you sir.
I still think yours was a stupendous performance in sarkar raj, but what really gets my goat is that most of the so called critics of todays - indian and western are not aware of the performances of brando besides the famous 6-7, which everyone knows - Streetcar, Wild One, Julius Caesar, Waterfront, Godfather, Tango and Apocalypse
I would request you to when ever you have the time to see Reflections in A golden eye, where brando played a closet homosexual opposite a sultry Elaizabeth Taylor directed by the great JOhn Huston. brando beats the pants of the brokeback mountain boys and he did that in 1967
Burn - Brando’s favourite performance / film of his own, directed by gillo pontecorvo about the ill effects of colonialism way back in 1969
Brando in the double whammy in the late 80s and 90s, with a caustic lawyer in dry white season and as the send up of Don corelone, in the Freshman.
There are countless others, but this is blog is about my second favourite B - Bachchan and not my god - Brando
your life long admirer.
cheers,
Karambir Singh Rai

Namaste, Sir
As always it’s a pleasure to read your blog - You and your family are unique in many good ways hence some people out there would rather blemish that picture thus the negativity from some quarters. People are such that they concentrate on the tiny black spot on a snow white wall!!! Never mind that the spot is miniscule compared to the white.
Take your days in your stride as you do and success will be with you.
God Bless and Guide You and Your Family Always.

Sir(and to Khalid mohammed and his likes if they are reading this),
As some wise being has already pointed out(in your previous blog), what we lack in india is quality critics unlike their western counterparts. Certainly Sarkar Raj is not bad at all for the kind of criticism it received. “****” is what khalid mohammed has give for a movie like Om Shanti Om. While I certainly do not consider the movie worthy enough to **earn** this rating(and not in any way superior to Sarkar Raj), I am not certainly wanting khalid to burn till eternity for this. But what makes me despise this is the shades of hyprocrisy he displays in his reviews with such regularity.
Khalid..I agree not all the critics can be great moviemakers and these two are different altogether. I am not angry with you for ruining my sunday afternoons with filma like fiza, tehzeeb(only for urmila), silsilay. But shouldnt there be an indication of conscience that should exist in you when you actually make rather rude remarks of some not really bad movies. food for thought I guess!!!!

Satyadeep, Chandigarh.
Sarkar,
Posting a poem,
close to greatness
at one stage in my life
I met a man who claimed to have
visited Pound at St. Elizabeths.
then I met a woman who not only
claimed to have visited
E.P.
but also to have made love
to him—she even showed
me
certain sections in the
Cantos
where Ezra was supposed to have
mentioned
her.
so there was this man and
this woman
and the woman told me
that Pound had never
mentioned a visit from this
man
and the man claimed that the
lady had had nothing to do
with the
master
that she was a
charlatan
and since I wasn’t a
Poundian scholar
I didn’t know who to
believe
but one thing I do
know: when a man is
living
many claim relationships
that are hardly
so
and after he dies, well,
then it’s everybody’s
party.
my guess is that Pound
knew neither the lady or the
gentleman
or if he knew
one
or if he knew
both
it was a shameful waste of
madhouse
time.

Dear Mr. B,
We all are with you and will make sure that the next time your movie releases the critics don’t come out with a biased review. A review is supposed to discuss the technical aspects of the film too which I don’t see any one doing.
Congratulations on Sarkar Raj once again. Now waiting for God Tuso Great Ho on 15th August. I hope it is not based on Bruce Almighty. I hated that movie and the role of Morgan Freeman was miniscule which I guess you are playing that of God.

dear sir,
thank you for the posts of the past few days. gladdens one’s heart to know that sarkar raj is doing fabulous business.the critics abroad seem to be untouched by the petty politicking that seems to cloud the judgement of our home grown critics.
i do not agree with the views of the critics who say amitabh has done it before……… i do not recall a role that was as layered as this or an interpretation by you that made a regular gangsta-politico role sublime. and you have probably the best body of work ever seen , you posess that rare genius that brings something new each and every day. so……dear banal, bitter critics… we haven’t seen the great bachan do it before, and all others who ahve attenmpted to do so have not done too well.in the context of the indian film industry we have seen way too many gangsta-politicians ….. come to think of it you have even killed them ‘wholesale’ on screeen. now, how can we explain the fact that most fo them have been poor caricatures and cartoons rather than sublime interpretations except by bringing your acting genius into the argument.
now, two hits in a row will some plzzzzz…… say the emperor is back.
i recall a comment one of my other fav’ ,Rajnikanth, had made about you” iss industry mein badshah toh bahut hain par shehenshah sirf ek…….. aur woh hain amitji”.
there is but one acting genius in the industry and that is you ………. in a day and age wher eactors actually say acting is all about attitude…… a cool attitude ……..we are blesssed to have actors like the (four) bachans who can enthrall us with sublime performances.

Good morning Sir,
Went through the sample list of cinemas wherein Sarkar Raj ruled over the opening weekend and was quite happy to be a part of the national phenomenon, i.e. we all friends watched the movie on Friday last at PVR, Indore, which is a part of the list ! Any & every association with you is a joy !
I don’t know whether anyone in the country needs any proof that the this sequel to Sarkar is just FANTASTIC and a sure-shot blockbuster, but, I think it was required to silence the necessary evils (CRITICS).
However, since I also read and came to know from friends and relatives in different cities that the opening weekend was totally jammed with people, I didn’t understand as to how did a responsible newspaper like The Economic Times published a news item on page 4 of its Mumbai edition dated Tuesday, June 10, 2008, which said that the movie didn’t do well at all the B.O. and had a very sad headline. Although you must have gone through the same, I’m attaching excerpts from the article for your reference:
” The much-hyped Sarkar Raj has failed to make a dent at the box office, with multiplexes recording only a 50% occupancy on the opening day. The only respite for the film came on Sunday with occupancy levels reaching the 85-90% mark. However, come Monday and collections across multiplexes have plummeted drastically.”
I think its time to doubt ET’s reliability, if it talks of a national issue such as this one.
Hail Sarkar !
Fondly yours,
am

Just one more question to the critics and reviewers( not necessarily have to answer back)
Replace Abhishek by Hrithik (though I feel Abhishek is better suited to the role than Hrithik and Hrithik is certainly way over rated) and would the critics have spoken about or made mockery of:
1)Dim lighting in the movie
2)Aishwarya being rebecca mark kind in the movie
3) Gunman in wollen gloves scene
and all the aspects highlighted in a negative manner that are not related to abhisheks performance(I really dont know if Hrithik can do intense acting, he was not at all matching to Sanjay dutt and looked totally out of place in the only role that required him to be intense upto date i.e. in mission kashmir).
The above aspects might not look relevant but honestly if there was a replacement like the one I have mentioned all the other surrounding aspects availabe for bashng by these critics would have faded away. This certainly shows the bias
And please I do not hate Hrithik Roshan at all. Infact Ifeel he is the best dancer we have in our country today.

Dear Amitabhji,
good morning and warm greetings. I saw Sarkar Raj yesterday, excellent performance. Time and again you have shown that you can create magic by your performances. Abhishek and Aishwarya have also been truly splendid.Ram Gopal Verma has shown great understanding of Politics and Power games. But the real reason i write this is something different which i thought should be brought to your notice. This about an article “Politics of Polio” by Pushpa Bhargav, former Vice-Chairman National Knowledge Commission. It reveals a very dark side of our populist programmes and how some of them may not really be on the general interest(not suggesting that you are to be blamed or even had any idea about such fallacies of the Pulse Polio Campaign). Since you have been campaigning for the said programme,(also your adversaries, the real life Somjis, have been using your polio campaign in his hate campaign) thought you should know about it. It is an example of how programmes are administered with or without understanding its long term ramifications. I do not doubt your intentions in a campaign against a dreaded disease but it seems all of us, including you, were led into beleving that it was a beneficial programme. As Subhash Nagre says ‘ Najdeek ka fayda dekne se pehle door ke nooksan ke bare mein sochna chahiye’. It seems our system has done exactly the opposite in this particularly campaign. Please let me know your take on this. Regards. Neetin Sonawane

No doubt, all three of you have acted superbly in the movie but your presence has added an extra oomph in all the main characters. Simply love to see you onscreen, keep doing good work and always be a good human being, I hope you know that these assests of yours are the weapons for those who try to bring to blur your divine image, All the best sir,

My response to Khalids review of Sarkar Raj in HT
__________________________________—
Mr Mohammed,
A critic should leave his personal squables out and his mind free of any malafide intentions and ‘ranjish’ (as they say in Hindi films). Thats what makes a great critic. It is a job that you do and get paid for .
I am very disappointed by your review and personally i feel it is a complete farce . Single most important reason - the viewer doesnt get the hang of the film and doesnt know how good or bad it is and most critical WHY?
Just remember that this tantamounts to using HT as your personal space for venting your frustration and this is thoroughly unacceptable.
IF a reviewer of your stature can stoop to this level then i only have pity for you.
Thanks

I would appreciate if my message is not put on the website. Thanks.
Hi,
How long did it take you to write the speech delivered in Sherwood?
It was awesome. As an educator, I often reflect upon the definition of ‘good education’. I want to congratulate you on the development of the thought, form, vocabulary and a style, which uses minimum number of words to express a thought.
But I would also like to share with you the fact that my daughter and myself decided to read Indian authors (only) when she was in the eighth standard. She is now working. We have, together, enjoyed the stories told by Amitav Ghosh, Preeti Nair, Manju Kapoor and many others. It wasn’t the stories but the narration of the stories that was fantastic. I would put you as an author in their league.
The elements of good education mentioned by you were always there in my mind but your presentation was remarkable.
Keep writing.
(Though I know it is a very time comsuming job)

Gilga,
read this
“Hrithik’s performance is flawlessly flamboyant. As the extroverted sunshine guy he takes over the frames, his perfect body language, and the repertoire of expressions ranging from innocent flirtation to loaded passion are riveting.”
The above was the review for hrithiks performance in one of the super duds of Indian cinema “mein prem ki diwani hoon”(if you have heard and seen that).
Now its an entirely different thing if you have seen it and actually liked his performance.
I do not hate hrithik at all. I agree if there was a shahrukh replacement(and even if is performance was not that great) the critics who hated this would still have given rave reviews.

Dear Mr Amitabh.
I watched Sarkar Raj with my friends and liked it in few parts…..My observations (which I think is unfair with the greatest actor like you and other good actors in the film) are
1. Abhishek is really growing as an actor, but lacks sometimes in dialog delivery…Felt this in few scenes.
2. Aishwarya acted well too, but never looked like th CEO of a MNC though…..Fashion designer to be blamed. Outfits were good but not befitting to the image of a CEO.
3. You looked tired in few scenes….Age factor? Especially in the later half of the movie. May be scenes demanded that….Not sure..
But hats off to you for all the the efforts you put in at this age…..May God bless Bachchan family…..Would love to see all four of you together, atleast once……
PS: You were the ideal son and now the ideal father…..Best regards to you….And tonnes of love….

HI Amitji:
I saw SARKAR RAJ over the weekend and it is a great movie. Excellent acting from Abhi and you. Ramu is bang on…
Amitji,,pls atleast now come into the terms that the Film industry and Media are having 2 campls. Tne Anti-Big B and Pro-Khan group.
The Pro-Kan group like HT, Rediff, Khalid, Mansad, Zee news are propagating the film to be a Flop.
Amitji, I wish you have the Moview Review for your friends in Industry like Aamir,Sanjay Leela, Vidhu Vinod Chopra,Ravi Chopra, etc..so that they can come out with a statement on the Film. It is such a powerful film..I’am really feeling sad that the Media is playing foul here and is always does the same for Abhi’s work..
May GOD with you Amitji..
No matter what media says,no matter what Box-office says…SARKAR RAJ rcoks !!!
I will watch it again !!

Personally, I hate the part of story when shankar killed as in third part (hopefully) i would like him to take centerstage. even i thought that ki why dont he lowered himself the moment he got hit by first bullet which would have saved him.

After going through many recent writeups, it is clear that most reviewers agree that the following Ramgopal Varma movies are excellent movies and refer to them almost like classics:
1. Shiva (Telugu) 1989 - Nagarjuna and Amala
2. Shiva (Hindi) 1990 - Nagarjuna and Amala
3. Kshana Kshanam (Telugu) 1991 - Venkatesh and Sridevi
4. Rangeela 1995 - Aamir Khan and Urmila
5. Satya 1998 - JD Chakravarthy, Urmila,
Manoj Bajpai abd Shefali Shah
6. Bhoot 2002 - Ajay Devgan and Urmila
7. Company 2003 - Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi
Manisha Koirala, Antara Mali,
Mohan Lala
8. Sarkar 2005 - Amitabh Bachchan,
Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon,
Mind you I haven’t included Sarkar Raj (yet).
Whatever their reviews may be at that time, now they refer to them now
as critical as well as commercial successes. Most will agree these are landmark movies in Indian cinema and so many of them
I am sure that there are many viewers who will list a few other movies of Varma also as very good.
I have a question, how many directors can boast of this many near classic movies in their career. And You know what the guy is still only 46 years old.
How dare these so called critics write off Ramgopal Varma ????????????
What do you say Mr.Bachchan

Since i am you fan, so I have to read your blog, but arent you taking advantage of your fan following for your own publicity. Its so silly to doubt each and everything negative written about you or sarkar raj. This is not the first movie which critics have shredded and you are not the first hero to be criticised, they why this noise. I pity the people doubting an esteemed newspaper like ET.Relax sir, its only a movie, nothing more.I always thought that you are way above than normal heroes in everything vanity, poersonality and intelligence. Show us an iota of that in handling criticism and people and please associate with good people. Shahrukh has reached this position not ecause he is a great actor but because he is a great human being and more than money he has earned great friends. Like they say–life must be counted not by the money, but the people you earn

dear sir,
it is a testimony to the supreme actign skills of the bachans that they could endure two and a half hours of close ups any lesser actor(s) would have crumbled under the sheer strain of the effort and the performances would have been unconvincing.under such close scrutiny , the way movies are made with repeated braks due to a variety of factors , continuity in the performances would have suffered. but , the bachans endure the ordeal of fire and come out not unscathed and with outstanding.
performances.

Respected Sir,
I feel overwhelmed writing this……..Its like i don’t believe that i’m directly communicating with you. Like millions of people around the world, i’ve been your fan (off and on) since my childhood. Its very natural that you had your share of good and bad movies…….but generally, you are able to carry a movie on your (strong!!) shoulders. I admire your persistence…….the “never give up” attitude in life. Its good to see you to experiment with your characters at this stage. I liked your characters in “Cheeni Kum”, “Nishabd”, “Eklavya”, “Black”…….to name some recent ones.
Your acting skills in “Sarkar” were exceptional. Forced me to watch it again the very next day……..couldn’t absorb all of it by single viewing. Well, people may find it amusing or whatever, but i bribed the man at the local theater cycle stand to get the posters of Sarkar. I was not able to decide who gave a better performance….you or Marlon Brando in the Godfather.
Coming to “Sarkar Raj”………i’m sorry to say i’m not too impressed. I had high expectations, which were not met with. I found the performances by all leading actors to be good, but the storyline was not up to the mark, the background score was not captivating enough. Maybe i was making comparisons with “Sarkar” while watching it. Whatever the collections say, i’m sorry but i was disappointed to see the empty seats in the theater when the lights came on during the interval. Maybe things ARE different in a multiplex, which is running about 15 shows and all are booked in advance.
Anyway, i feel that the media is so obsessed with you and your family that they just can’t ignore you……if it were not for you, it would have been difficult for many of them to get their bread and butter!!
We Indians take great pride in minority bashing, Gandhi bashing…….now-a-days it is (Mr.) Amitabh Bachchan bashing. Please take it with a pinch of salt.
I wish you a very healthy and long life and hope to see lots and lots of your powerful performances in the future.
All the best and god bless.

Hi Every one
Did you notice the attention we are giving to Manoj Night Shyamalan. The guy, as admitted himself, has seen about 3 hindi movies: Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Devdas and Satyam Shivam Sunadaram. He thinks SRK starred in all of them. We are dying for him to take some indian actor in his movies. I am not sure he deserves all the adulation we are giving him. The guy is indian in genes only. He knows nothing about our movies and our stars.

at your age and with your kind of experience you should not be bothered with comments of actors SRK and Aamir. So dont worry and be happy.

Some wise beings have written to take the criticism in the stride… But the question arises if really our critics are matured enough for their reviews to be labelled as exaples of constructive criticism. If the question is yes then I agree with actors not reacting to this but if it is done with an intention then I think there is nothing wrong in hitting back.
At the end of the day actors are humans and you cant expect them to sit quiet. Secondly a good film is a good film. Atleast this one does not deserve such harsh words(those who have really read the reviews of will know) as written by Khalid..
As for Shahrukh, he is still the most critic liked actor in the country even if the movies are not good.. So he hasnt really been in a position where we could judge how he reacts to criticism of the khalid mohammed types..
And finally, all those people who wll react to this comment((Especially those who have asked amitji to take criticism in their stride before actually reacting think really if you are able to take this in your stride, especially the one below)

Mr. Bachchan
In this Blog you have written extensively how much you adore and respect your father and the deep and lasting influence he has left on you. You have not said much about your mother so far. It would be interesting to hear from you about her - what kind of person and mother she was. Would you care to share your thoughts on this in the coming days?

Dear Amit Ji,
I am a big fan of both your films and your father’s poetry- the first ever poem I read was by your father (”geet mere”) and as a fan, it would be my dream to hear an album of you reciting your father’s poetry (especially “madhushala”). I hope that this dream comes true!
Sincerely,
Arvind.

Dear Sir :
I watch films only after reading the reviews after reading Mr Mohammed’s review I was a bit averse to watching Sarkar Raj on the large screen. I’d have waited for the DVD release but then I read your comments about his review and made up my mind immediately to watch the movie - which I did last night. Your performance is par excellence. My congratulations to you. But then you are a master of this art and you lived up to what is expected of you. What exceeded expectations were Abhishek and Aishwarya’s performances. Abhishek put all of himself in the role. If you would tell him that in the very first scene where he is introduced to the audience, when his character gets up to leave the group to join Sarkar on the terrace - he gets up and pulls up his jacket. A small insignificant gesture though of course he may have done it strategically to show that he is a man who means business. I thought he could have done without it - his character is strong and silent and his movements are always measured. That sprightly pulling up the jacket was a man with great nervous energy - not quite Shankar.
The film has sparks of RGV’s brilliance but the story has some flaws and I hope you do not mind my rather naive attempts to give you feedback. My only intention is to give you an ordinary, averagely intelligent audience’s view point. Some issues that really irked me were that Shankar Nagre’s relationship with his wife is not developed upon at all and therefore her death seems a lesser catastrophe than it should have. Abhishek’s performance as a man who has lost his wife and child are therefore a bit wasted….also, the tough as nails Shankar Nagre’s ’soft’ reactions towards Anita weaken the impact of his character portrayal. His ‘Maharashtra’ credo is diluted by this ’soft on her’ undercurrents. The best would have ben to show hostility of ideology between these character so that the audience is fully convinced that Shankar’s fight is for Maharashtra and not to please the pretty miss Anita.
Sometimes the story got too complex, its clear that the story teller knows what he is talking but the audience need to concentrate really hard to get it too. We had gone to watch in a group of 5 and atleast 3 were groping to understand and needed explanations. Other than that the hired Assasin’s gloved antics were very ‘filmy’ and comic. Almost straight from stuff like that TV serial ‘Karamchand’. I know you’ve got nothing to do with all that, but nevertheless its your film at the end of the day.
I came away with Sarkar’s tragic face imprinted on my mind - it will go fade away in a couple of days. The proof of a great performance. I also wanted to ask you if you wear colored contacts for most of your recent films? The young Amitabh had jet black eyes ! Now the eyes match the sand and pepper look…..just wondering.
Allah Hafiz.

I am a Malaysian and got to watdh your movie Sarkar Raj and thought that it was excellent.Cheers all all three of you.
By the way I read an article on AbishekBachchan.org which stated that at the Award ceremony when Abishek went up to receive his award Ashwarya was giggling and he asked her what was so funny and after that is was sulking.
This can’t be true cos she is very supportive of him.

Hi Amit Ji,
Do not worry about comment from others like SRK, Amir, and other politicians. Just totally ignore them, do not answer them.
When it comes in terms of hindi Cinema, you stands in very way ahead of them. Everybody is oversahdowed by you. Your voice is superb, your height is superb. When dialogs comes in that superb voice it delivered like gold.
Best wishes,
Thanks and Regards,
