Prateeksha, Mumbai      June 27,  2008          1:14 am

Another harrowing day with a million matters simultaneously occupying the body and mind. Many during my years of professional work have advised and suggested, good intentionally, that delegation of job is a quality I should adopt in order to restore some sanity in my existence.

To me it has seemed an excellent academic advise that really has never worked with me. If I am unable to give my own personal body and mind to my work I have felt alienated and incomplete. I must read what I am required to make expression on. I must compose with pen and ink my thoughts and I must type on the keyboard with my own fingers what I wish to post.

Today we have the benefit of modern technology. My father, a prolific letter writer answered all his mail personally and in his own hand. He would write almost a hundred post cards every day, even if they contained just a couple of lines. And. He would walk to the nearest post box and post them all himself.

I do all of that by the mere press of a button.

My attraction to you through the medium is far too great to ignore a connection. It remains like an incomplete task that I need to complete and when I do there is relief.

I have posted a video of my trip to Indore. Well, small portions of it and some photographs of the visit. They shall hopefully be able to confirm that there are still a few people left in this world that are ready to show some affection towards me.

After rehearsals tonight there has been conversation and comment on unsavory matters. And even though I have exercised restraint for many such, I feel the need to bring them up again for they challenge character and intent.

Joy, I think has taken to heart an entirely malicious reportage of Abhishek slapping a spot boy on set. He also stated that earlier too there has been similar attitude on his behalf and that I need to restrain him in from such behavior.

This is a laughable matter. Abhishek does not have the ability to strike a fly. He does have the ability though to attract incongruous and totally incorrect press. There has been absolutely no such incident on set. It is a fabrication of the highest order. The earlier incident with a press photographer was another complete fabrication. On my advice I brought the matter to an end in court but not before discovering a most devious plot of blackmail and extortion by the concerned party.

We have remained quiet and reserved through most of all this and it has been the accepted attitude from friends well wishers and fellow bloggers. The revelation though of committed and planned maneuvers by deployed agencies to deliberately misinform and malign on the instructions of colleagues and fellow workers is despicable. We are aware that certain media and journalists who have painstakingly taken it upon themselves to build animosity towards us and follow religiously a common utterly unprofessional bias, will never change. Fair enough. Their colors were never just. Their comments even through our most acknowledged moments shall reek of deliberate abuse. They are not the fourth estate or fifth or even the sixth or seventh. They are in no state at all. But that they shall stoop to such unscrupulous deed needs mention.

I am warned and made aware that the internet is a small insignificant medium, incapable of registering any clarification and comment. I believe that a single connection of belief is a hand stretched forward in support and understanding. I believe the majority of my readers is large and strong enough to make impression. I believe they have a voice and a presence. I believe they have belief in my honesty. I believe that this community has the power to grow into a force of great value. I believe the internet is the future and that its importance shall receive recognition. I believe that the community has the capacity to bring change. And I believe that change is imminent.

So express yourself. Let me hear your strength. Let me feel your feelings.

For I remain yours,

Amitabh Bachchan

I am not aware of this as I did not read or view this incidence. However, for a moment even if I assume this has happened, it seems a natural process. Abhi is a human too. If the spot boy has made certain comments/gestures that are unworthy of mention, as a natural reposne, I would have no issues with this at all.
I do believe that Abhi is a great person with lots of cultural values imbed from his steemed parents and so he am sure has not done anything.
This again goes back to the story that — because the Bachcans are a very popular, admired family worldover, certain people always use it to gain popularity, or gain in any other way. THIS IS PURE JEALOUSY. No matter what happens Sir, WE ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU and YOUR FAMILY.

    Good luck.

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,

Thank you once again for welcoming us with open arms, open eyes, open mind, and most importantly, an open heart. You know, prior to this blog, all I really knew of you was what I saw on the screen. You were Amitabh Bachchan, who portrayed different characters with your own style and finesse which I feel can never be duplicated or outdone. I respected you, I wanted to be like you, but based on what I saw on screen. In many films, you were named Vijay (your favorite screen name, I believe). I wanted to be Vijay, be it from Shaan, Agneepath, Trishul, Akayla, etc. But today, through the power of the blog, instead of us coming to you, you came to us. You gave us an opportunity to get to know you and understand you. I respected you before, as I mentioned, and I still respect you today. What differs is that now I also respect you on a more personal level, because I’ve had a chance to know Amitabh Bachchan as Amitabh Bachahan. You have inspired me in many ways, you have educated me in many ways, and you have motivated in many ways. Thank you!!

You are right, the internet is the future. It’s a small world and by establishing these connections, we are eliminating boundaries and getting a glimpse of each other on personal levels. I hope and pray that this will lead us to forget the petty differences amongst us, and to establish new relationships built on the foundation of trust and friendship.

Regarding the incident with Abhishek, I find it hard to believe he would do that. I once read that someone stated that Abhishek is one of the most well-behaved individuals she has ever met (I believe she was a costume designer). While I don’t know him on a personal level, he seems to carry a friendly and postive attitude. And as I’ve seen him interact with you on Koffee with Karan and other stage appearances, he seems like a little boy who always looks up to his father, similar to how I am with my father. It doesn’t seem likely that he would resort to slapping someone. You are right to remain quiet, but it’s sad how people take one’s silence to be a sign of guilt or weakness. You didn’t have to, but you went ahead and cleared the matter up tonight. We believe you.

To get back to the world of films, for a bit, I have a question. Actually, I have many questions, but I’ll ask them one at a time in future posts. As far as preparation is concerned for a particular role, what do you do? How do you make yourself that character. I remember, I was watching the making of “The Shining” with Jack Nicholson and as he was about to shoot a scene where he is hacking a door with an axe, he started yelling and screaming frantically to get into character.

What sorts of things do you do to become that character, be it during an action scene, comedy scene, romantic scene, dramatic scene, or tragic scene?

    Hope to read your reply!

    Keep on shining!

    Best wishes and regards,
    Tariq

Yes ,it is paradoxical that media which is supposed to investigate without bias and inform without judgment, has no qualms about mis-informing or mis leading the public .They seem to have their own agendas ;their own power politics at work. You have a powerful tool ,the internet, and an equal right to combat their smear campaigns against you .Hopefully ,you will not be consumed by the need to address every negative or untrue thing written about you and your family. We ,the people, have enough brains to discern the truths from the untruths.

It seems like the only way to get a reply from you is to say something so negative that it catches your attention. This might be largely due to the fact that the volume of replies is so great and it’s probably more offensive when someone says something negative than it is gratifying when someone compliments you. In any case, I wanted to know from your experience whether you think it would be possible for a person to be a Hindi Film actor yet live and be settled in the USA? If it is possible how difficult would it be and if it isn’t then why is it not possible? Once again I hope to be the lucky one out of thousands to get a reply.

    Hello sir.
Titash again. You are absolutely right,I think our journalists are just aping the way of western journalism. In every part of our country people are following the western ways.western culture is saturated, and even they are not happy with that. They are trying to bring back family values, they are advising their next generation to stop night club parties, drinking, doping etc.that shows how frustrated are they with their culture and life styles. But we Indians are adopting all these.I agree the purchasing power of mediocre has increased but that doesn’t mean that they have to invite all those ugly things in to their life.
Have they forgotten about our enriched culture?or our identity as Indians?

1891 when Swami Vivekananda met turiyananda near Himalayan,He said that we have lost our individuality as Indians and that is the reason for every problem of ours.
They Understood that nearly 107 years ago.
We have to understand that now.
that doesn’t mean we should avoid western culture. We should intake their good ones and stop following their ugly ones. That is the only way we can change the deteriorating society and only then these kind of vindictive journalism can be stopped.

I thought it was about time you came out and said that there are a set of people who are biased against your family and will do everything at their disposal to run you down. Like last week the now famous Upala KBR from Mid day had an article that you had given Sanjay Dutt a watch for 50 lakhs or some wierd amount and the reason given by Upala was since it was not Sanjay Dutt’s bday and his wedding had happened long back this gift was to ensure that he will act in ABCL movies and that you wanted to be in his good books. I found that applaing and classless article. This is just one of the many more idiots who has a pen and paper at their disposal to print anything that comes to their mind. Hello Big B,

It is good to hear your side of the story and I totally agree with you about the power of internet. Blogging is a great way to communicate your side to people on such controversial matters. Personally I feel Abhishek is a very descent, cultured, down-to-earth young man unlike some people in your profession. He seems composed and does not likely to behave so rudely. It is very creditable to you and Jaya Bhaduri to raise such cultured, decent, mature kids even being in filmy surroundings.

Now about Sarkar Raj: It is very impressive to see the response you are getting for all the Sarkar raj promotions and the film. Personally I did not like the film. Though your acting has been great as usual in all the movies, more in depth direction was expected. The movie lacks good dialogs and in-depth direction. The events in the movie are too fast and does not allow viewers to sink-in the impact of those events. With such a powerful storyline, powerful actors more was expected of the movie. But congratulations to you all the Bachhans on their mature acting and also for the success of the movie.

It is also very impressive that at this age, you are very much capable of handling such a busy schedule.

    Best Wishes.

My concern is that the media will create an issue out of it and the person’s family would keep on thinking that if you had not visited indore this would not have happened……. etc. etc……… I am so sorry for being so negative about it, but i am a very positive person in life and always think big and think positive, but its very unusal that after seeing these pics and the videos these things came into my mind and thought of sharing with you….. If you had read sometime back in one of my comments i had mentioned that I was involved in organizing Refugee’s music release function in Ansal Plaza Delhi some years back, i still remember that how things were co-ordinated and the public were patiently waiting in the amphitheatre, may be the venue had better facilites in Delhi and indore being a small city …….. but again all the above was just my immediate thoughts after seeing the snaps and video, correct me if i am wrong, while watching the video i think i saw you shaking hands with one person riding on a motor bike, which could have been dangerous what happened if he disbalanced and came under the car….???? 34. Satyam says:

The Abhishek story seemed laughable the moment it came out in the media! I think that it would be quite impossible to believe either you or Abhishek ever striking anyone irrespective of the provocation. Equally ridiculous was the idea (elsewhere published) that he was making fun of Harman Baweja in a function (Harman Baweja to his credit has completed refuted this story as well).

The reason the Bachchans attract such bad press is firstly insecurity and jealousy. Let’s say there is just too much brand equity in your family. Aishwarya Rai was for most people the last straw! No matter where the Bachchan family is, no matter in what permutation it makes news. The photographers cannot stop clicking, the writers cannot stop writing. They of course pay a rather perverse compliment by indulging in so much negativity! If they dare to they should ignore the Bachchans completely! But of course they can’t. This would be very bad business sense indeed!

The second equally important reason is that the Bachchans refuse to play the media game which is to wink and nod at various unethical practices, even profit from these, in short become complicit in this very corruptible enterprise otherwise known as the Bombay film media!

You are absolutely right in suggesting that the internet offers a very significant degree of resistance to what was erstwhile the print media monopoly. Now there are other counter-narratives that can come about. This is why I cheered so loudly when you began this blog. Because you have the name and the following to make your voice heard further and more effectively than mere mortals like myself ever could! Of course this too has upset the media and they keep writing negative stuff about the blog even as they also borrow your posts for new stories! No matter. You are getting your side of the story out and this is crucial.

As always I admire your extraordinary energy…

PETROL PRICES!!, ENERGY BILL RISES!!, FOOD PRICE RISES!!, PROPERTIES IN NEGATIVE EQUITY!!!!!…. “THE CREDIT CRUNCH”………………………
Why are the seats at the front taken up by people who are only there to show their fortunes?
    Prices upto £600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Cheapest ticket £35!!!
£35 to see You on a screen!
£150 to be just as far!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those who sit in the cheap seats deserve more of your attention, they are their to enjoy your presence and performance.
The rich are only there to parade their status!
WHO DECIDES ON THESE PRICES SIR????????????
How do they work out these pricing structures?
I live in Preston in Lancashire which is over 200 miles away, i have to travel to London (which costs more than your cheapest ticket prices!!), book a hotel (in London thats steep enough!), then sit on a seat and watch most of the show from the screens on each side of the stage!!!
SORRY MR BACHCHAN IF I CANT GET MORE< THAN THE TICKET PRICES SHOULD BE LESS……………………………………………………..
I would love to hear what you have to say about this issue as although I do not hold you responsible, I do wonder if you are aware of these pricing structures.
Surely it would make more sense to drop the prices slightly to encourage a higher capacity audience?
Well, my tickets are bought now, BUT ONLY BECAUSE OF MY LOVE FOR YOU.

I did read that response .For a moment I was shocked, but immediately I knew it is a balant lie . I always responded in the past to abstain form this kind of malice from the press. But as a parent I will never suggest the same .You have to clear the lies. Thank you for clarifying it .
It happens in families too. Some relatives deliberately malign families and their children .As parents it is very agonizing specially when it is fictitous.
I can understand your pain, because it is not only the family but the whole universe. Good to know you took them to court. I wish you could sue them often like in US, probably then it may decrease .

I some time wonder how people can be so callous ? How do they answer their soul ?How can they sleep at night ?Are they void of conscience ?What makes them do that ? Are they jealous and envious ?There are so many “hows ” and “Whys” which even scholars and pandits could not answer . They sure showed us the path to constrain these feelings and to be aware of these feelings but how many of us practice this, specially the fourth estate .Is it really for bread and butter? As a logical fan I surely believe in you honesty .

A very big fan, for eg. if i was given an(innocent) bribe of watching your movie on video or the - YEH HAI AMITABH - video cassette, i would complete all my school work with a super speed.

I, on behalf of all your fans across the world would want to assure you that we are with you as a society towards curbing such malicious use of communication mediums for the manipulation of public minds for personal selfish interests by targeting icons like you.

Thanks for entertaining us, thrilling us and inspiring us through your movie characters (some larger than life - be it - mukkadar ka sikander - laawaris - deewar, which i bet no else can carry them off that perfectly except for your great self)which have become a part of our lives, and hope that you continue to do so for many more years to come.

I haven’t read such news in any of the national news paper’s Internet Version…and I believe if such incident would have happened, then almost each news paper would have covered it as it is related to a person whose last name is “Bachchan” …the reason for this believe is when Media can run a report on where Bachchan park their cars then they would have covered it certainly and would have asked funny questions to the SPOT BOY////

    hi amitji and fellow readers,
today i read in a website called filmcafe.com that when harman and priyank made an appearance on stage, abhishek and aishwarya were laughing at them, first thing i asked myself before reading further, was, why would they laugh at them? are they not famous enough to feel jealous and laugh at them? or are they not intelligent enough to not show their dislike for someone in public? the answer was/is, this is utter rubbish. the concerned so-called journalist, has just put 2 and 2 together.i just dont get it.what is the problem with journalists. how can they eat the bread they earn by ridiculing or humilating someone. with the kind of response amitji got in indore and many other cities, is there a need for him to do such things? NO, so what these guys are publishing is just their imagination, or for their 2 mins of fame.Another day i read on stardust something about abhishek and aishwarya fighting, i was like, even if they were, its their personal matter, which couple doesnt fight in normal life.
I am just amazed, on how these news channels and journals have stooped so low.
recently someone sent me an email, showing foolish news on national channel, like “commissioner’s dog is lost”. I couldnt stop laughing. if that was their intention to make ppl laugh then fine, but it didnt look like that, as it was a national news channel.

Aishwarya, Abhishek not so ‘happily married’?

    Spicezee Bureau

New Delhi, June 26: Be it award functions, film promotions or press conferences, the gorgeous Bachchan bahu is evidently quite happy whenever seen with family. Recently, Ash’s usual over the top behaviour became a cause for embarrassment for hubby Abhishek. The couple lately had a heated argument, on their way to attend the IIFA ceremony, when the actress was getting a little too loud and Abhi wanted her to just be soft in her expression.

As the couple was proceeding to attend the award function, with actor Kunal Kapoor, Ash got too loud and vocal while Abhishek subtly asked her to keep her voice low. Understanding the need of the situation, Kunal promptly left the place in order to stay out of their marital spat.

However, reports reveal that the actress in spite of being warned by hubby couldn`t maintain a low profile. Abhishek then took wife to the hotel lobby, made her sit peacefully and had a word with her to make himself clearly understood.

According to sources, things did not work out for them and Ash continued auguring at the top of her voice, and which is when Abhi completely lost his temper and ended up telling his personal security guards to escort his wife to her room.

Now, does that imply that the couple has finally outgrown the so very ‘happy-happy’ beat of their marriage? We definitely hope not.

    Dear Sir,
“I am warned and made aware that the internet is a small insignificant medium, incapable of registering any clarification and comment”
I humbly beg to differ .. on the contrary it is quite a powerful medium with a connectivity and impact which outstrips almost all forms of conventional media..i am currently in toronto and yet the effect ur blog creates is.. well cant really find a word for it..
It is almost still an unearthly experience that we can communicate with YOU DIRECTLY.. despite having seen or read infinite interviews, shows etc etc in every form of media this is something which takes it beyond all of them .. conversing with AMITABH BACHCHAN wow.. :)
Sir as regards to a divided & malicious opinion I guess it is impossible for a universal consensus on any issue or anyone..even ‘Mahatma’ Gandhi
isnt a Mahatma for many..As you have done all along (which i believe) one continues to do what he truly believes is the right thing to do irrespective of anything..

“I believe that a single connection of belief is a hand stretched forward in support and understanding. I believe the majority of my readers is large and strong enough to make impression. I believe they have a voice and a presence. I believe they have belief in my honesty…… And I believe that change is imminent”

Yes we do believe in your honesty.. unshakeable, though we havent met talked or communicated in any form .. it is a simple unshakeable belief.. and it is people like you who continues to give us faith in ideals, believe in them and practice them inspite of facing the otherwise.. hope you continue to do so..

I do not understand one thing about the Media world wide and that is “Why do they care so much about others life when they themselves cannot take of their own”. I guess what you said about that small group of media people who really make a mess needs to be asked what do they gain from this cheap publicity. Let’s assume that Abishekh had a problem with a spot boy ..why would an average human being care about what went in between them. Should’nt we be looking at what the end result was ( an entertaining movie) rather than poking our nose into how it was made or what happened during its making. One thing that is bad about the culture in my country is that we are always eager to go and give unwanted advice and gossip about our neighbours, friends and relatives. We do not think twice before we give out a statement as to how much would it hurt the other person. Why is that we always think about benefits from letting others down. Why not gaining that eemotional bank balance by saying two good words about someone instead.

Sometimes its better to adopt the “Care a damn attitude” in life as people really do not try to understand you. All they do is come and increase your problems more and get joy out of it seeing that you are not happy. I do not blame the whole media world but yes that small group.. i think you should grow up and be a man and publish the truth rather than making up stories to get promotions or get more sales for your newchannels/newspapers/magazines.

To end my note i would praise the Media people who really work hard to bring the truth to the world and help a common man know what is right and what is wrong.

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,

I agree with you. Internet is the future and the single most connection of faith can spread like a virus. Whenever there’s a successful person, company or anything that people can point a finger at. People will. You type the word ” sucks” in a search engine and in 0.05 seconds it brings up 106,000,000 pages ranging from School sucks, Bill Gates sucks, Mercedes sucks and what not. There is even a ” I Hate Dell” club online ! But just because people write about something does not make it a fact. Its just an opinion.

Unfortunately, some men/women make it their goal in life to bring down other people. So sad they spend their entire lives in this miserable way of thinking. We are very proud of you and the values you have passed on to your family. I can bet there are more people who consider you and your family an inspiration, than people who’s mission in life is to bring you down. One person’s prayer could be stronger than a 100 critics. And that 1 sure starts with me !

    God Bless.

    Dear Mr Bachchan

    I am London based.

I recently clicked on your blog by accident and started to read your daily some interesting, some just and some ’so what’ issues.

Those who have told you that the internet is a small insignificant medium are wrong. I will explain why. Some of my family members and myself were an adherent admirer of your work you but this was shattered some few years ago when you visited London (Sunrise Radio) with Anil Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty to promote to the public a show you were doing. At the gate of Sunrise Radio there were just some handful of people and not as the radio was announcing that there 100’s of people. I was driving through there and stopped to get a glimpse of yourself. I did get glimpse of yourself (you were a red jumper? at the time) whilst entering sunrise radio, however, there was an old woman standing next to me, (who had apparently been waiting a long time to greet you) stretched her hands throught the rails and asked for your autogragph for her grandson, to which you totally ignored and went inside the building. You were literally about 4 yards away from the locked rail gate. You, Anil Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty were in a merry mood and totally ignored this old woman. Now I can understand if there were 100’s of people but there were merely 7 to 10 people. I can also understand if this was a private meeting, however, this was not a private, it was requesting the public to purchase tickets to watch your show.

I did write to you shortly after that incident and also requested your explanation on this matter but to date I am still waiting.

My point is that - the people who warn about the internet being a small insignificant medium is totally wrong. I would never have the opportunity to put my point and for you to maybe read this if it was not for the internet media, as you never gave me the explanation on my written letter to you.

You are still admired by vast, however, you lost my admiration since then.

    Dear Amitji,

We have been communicating with you directly and it means a lot to us. I doubt if you can enjoy this experience as much if you delegate this to someone else. A ghost written blog is no blog at all. Irrespective of the reach of the internet, it remains a fact that it gives you a medium to express your facts without being distorted and that matters most. When you pick out readers comments and respond, it shows that our messages matter. If possible do that more often.

What you can perhaps do is delegate what you can to others. Delegation is a necessary link to improving your management skills. When you employ someone you need to trust that person with work. Meaning not breathe over his shoulder constantly. Else one delegates and then spends the rest of one’s time monitoring the chap! Do you need to entertain every Tom, Dick and Harry from the press. After all you managed to do without the media for a long time– and it was perhaps the most prolific phase of your career. Slow down on that front and concentrate on work (acting). They can refer to your blog if they need help! Make them secondary or even tertiary!!!

I totally agree with you about what you wrote, though i dont personally know or care whether Abhishek slapped someone or not, i thot, upon reading that article some time ago, that it ca not be cannot be true ‘cos he is brought up in a nice cultured and respected family and typically such people dont resort to violence that easily. His demeanour in his interviews, both in press and on TV also reaffirmed the same thought. he seemed very fun-loving, jovial and yet, someone who respects others around him. I heard his mom has a lot to do with instilling these values in him.

There was another article recently, i dont remember where that i read ( they all seem the same these days), that Abhishek was throwing his “bachchan” weight around every place, i remember thinking “how come he’s doing that, his dad seems so nice and respectful”, I must confess that i dsid believe that article.

But again, how should it matter what the public thinks? In the above case, how does it matter? Do you think people will stop watching his movies ‘cos he is projected by the media to be arrogant or do you not want anyone to think something that he is not?

Anyways, thanks for clearing it up for me and everyone else. We believe you, 100000000000000000%. Stay fit and happy!

I am, I think, at a loss of where to start or how to start. Your last sentence impedes on me the need to express myself to you so that you can understand where you stand in my eyes. Why do you feel that you need to know this? My goodness, what kind of inner turmoil are you going through? Well, whatever it is, I for one hope that you DO find the strength in my words. As usual, let me start with Day 64.

I saw the video and I admit it pleased me to see so many around you showering their affection for you. However, it also affirmed my stance of admiring the celebrities that I love to see on screen from afar. Never to get too close. I can’t deal with all that pushing and shoving. My word, how on Earth did you get out of there in one piece? That in itself is beyond me.

I do LOVE to watch you on screen as well as the rest of your family (BTW, please convey my wishes to Aish and let her know that I will pray for her well being, as well as your cold) and therefore only have good wishes for you four. I should warn you though, I’m a bit weird when it comes to being a fan. Most individuals, when they chastise themselves as fans, are blindly in love with the object/ person of their affection to the point of becoming obsessed with the individual/ object and forgetting all self respect. I’m not like that.

You have your space in this world and I have mine. You are fulfilling your purpose on this planet, and I am still trying to find mine. I recognize you as a fellow human and accord you the same respect that I’d give to anybody. I don’t think you or anybody in the film industry is special in the sense that we should become ‘obsessed’ upon sighting you in public and quickly disturb you for an autograph or picture or something. As it is, when we all die. I die. You die. We all die and we all go to the same place and there are no differences there, so why should I perceive of any differences here.

I’ve heard of people throwing themselves at celebrities or fainting in the presence of one who they admire and I could never do that. To do so would mean that I love you or that individual more than I love myself. Even if I am a die-hard fan, I have too much pride, self-respect and love for myself, I’d never efface myself in public in front of a celebrity (be it You or SRK).

So, my feelings and strength are with you in the form of love. Love that is understanding and completely unconditional. I do not seek anything from you nor the other artistes that I love to watch on screen. In fact, I secretly hope that we will never meet because I just rather admire you all from afar than see you up close. If I were ever to come across a celebrity, I’d most likely just smile and go about my own business. Then again, that’s just the way I am. I told you I’m odd.

My siblings consider me boring and I revel in my boredom. I love my routine and I love the fact that whenever the mood suits me, I can go ahead and meditate or do a tarot reading or try for an out of body experience. I can do whatever I want in the comfort of my own home and in my boredom I can think up numerous thoughts, each with their own cause and effect working themselves out within the recesses of my mind. We are all three aspects in one after all: BODY, MIND & SOUL\ SPIRIT.

I eat when my body feels hungry and sometimes I’ll mentally talk to it and tell it to give me a few more minutes (especially if I’m in the middle of doing something) if the stomach starts to rumble, and wouldn’t you know it, the rumbling stops and my body actually gives me those few extra minutes to finish off whatever I have to, and then I fulfill my promise to it and feed it. Its easier for the Mind to be in touch with the Body since the Body is always making its wants and needs known. Here’s a good example (I’m smiling already about this).

I was craving chocolate chip cookies today. My body doesn’t care what I feed it as long as it gets the nourishment it needs to continue living. So, obviously the craving for the cookies was Mind induced and on my way home from work, I walked over to the local supermarket at bought myself some cookies. Before reaching there, I had called my brother to find out if he wanted anything and the boy went through a long list and I stopped him mid-sentence to inform him that I was walking home with the food, not driving home, to which he rested on ice cream. Obviously, I didn’t have to tell him anything and could’ve just gone and done my own thing and come home. But,I thought of him and felt that it would be bad to get something for myself and nothing for him. So, I was being considerate. That was, again, the Mind at play. So, if the Mind is so prevalent, then when does the Soul come into play?

There’s more to this but I have to cut it short. The devil himself, my brother, just called and wants me to go pick him up from his friend’s house. Gotta go! Duty calls!

Coming to Abhishek’s report on the press. We knew it was false from the day we saw it in the media. Amitji’ as I have been always writing the media as created in 2 camps now. After the Abhi-Ash wedding lot of people in the Media and the industry have taken personally when they were not invited for the bash. I know it was low-key affair as you had mentioned earlier due to your ailing mother. But since a few section of inductsry was invited, other big-wigs ( not to mention the names) have felt offened. The big chuck of media is with them. Unfortunately Abhi is paying the price. I’am sure about this. The Media is also responsible for creating bad reviews of SARKAR RAJ. Don’t worry Amitji we are all with you and love you and belive in you forever.

    With Greetings and Prayers,
    Rajesh

It is hard to exercise restraint when the vicitm of abuse is your child — that wounds far more than any insult to yourself. The injustice is of course, difficult to countenance, and those who love you feel your pain, believe in your good intentions, and abhor the despicable behavior of those who try to engrandize themselves in such a despicable manner. Such ignorance — for example, the rude comments already posted beside the Indore video –is hard for an educated person to fathom; what type of perverted gratification do these people derive? The crass press motives are at least understandable.

Whether the Internet will in any way address these injustices, I do not know. Without doubt, those that believe in you have the power to combat flying rumors, but is that power widespread enough? As many people have pointed out, those who reply to the blog only comprise a tiny percentage of your fans, so we can only hope that many more are reading (and will begin to read) your text and will help in dispelling the myths. The courts may, however, be your best weapon.

Rest assured that those who love you will embrace your cause, no matter what. The casual comment I once read or heard that “Abhishek is a really nice man” weighs more in my estimation that any titillating rumor. Those who need such titillation must have very unfulfilled lives, and again, the issue of education cannot help but be central.

I am so sorry that these recent days have been made a nightmare by such maliciousness and have overshadowed both your triumph in Indore and the success of your recent business dealings. Those who love you worry continually about the effect of this ongoing stress on your health; you are a beloved family member and part of our lives. We cry to see you sad.

As to the failure to delegate, would the result have the AB touch? I think not. Most definitely, only you could write the beautiful prose that warms the heart of this retired scholar. Contrasting that rhetoric with the scurrilous detractions lays the evidence squarely on your side.

Keep remembering how many people love and respect you, and let us know if there is anything pragmatic we can do.

    Hello Amit sir,

Pleasure to read everything coming out of your blog and I think that I was right when I mentioned earlier in my comment that like your father, you would keep on continue writing tons and tons for all of us. Now, I felt lot close to you, and I believe, not only me, million of people are feeling the same. Now, we never get even iota of excitement by any news related to you in any way. We are happily far away from making any opinion about you, not even a single thought reach us to grab any attention created by media, newspapers. It is all because you have taken this initiative of putting your thoughts in front of us. People understand people better when they talk, people feel closer to one another when they feel that whatever they are sending is being received from other side. You have made a bridge between us so that we can walk and touch each other, express each other and know each other in a unique way.

So far, we have known you by your movies; your movies provided entertainment, period. Now, we know you more as a person by your blog, we got satisfaction of knowing you, which is million times better than entertainment.

There might be few people in this world who disapprove you by their own reasoning or for any whatsoever reason but sir, billions of people support you, love you, trust you in your deeds so, in case, you ever feel down because of those few people, always remember, millions of us love you for what you are and would always support you. There are people, there are actors and there are celebrities and then, there is Amitabh Bachchan.

I will write more, very soon.

    Amit sir
for me you are someone whom I idolized since my childhood. Portrayal of ur characters in ur earliar movies shaped my personality. You are a passionate actor, an intellectual and a modest person. I believe you are the only successful actor in India who did not get caught in the stereotyped roles in the old age. (Sorry for reminding you that you cant be considered young now :-)
Actors like Raj kapoor, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna , Raj Kumar, Dilip kumar could not come out of typical gestures of themselves. Those gestures were natural earliar which turned artificial down the line. Have observed that you have been trying not to get into that since your Post KBC career. Still I would say as an actor you could have done more in some of the recent movies. I am not writing as a critic but a demanding fan.
I also admire you for not create ur lobbies in film industry. Which is common tendency when u rule over the industry.( Dont want to take any names I dont want to get you in trouble by writing your comments on the same.. :-)
Wish you good health and rich life ahead

    Aadarniye Amit Uncle,
    Sadar Pranam.

You are right - internet is a powerful medium and also people(whether on the internet or not) are not stupid. You are a public figure and end up in controversy more often than desired. I am sure it is a pain in the neck - but life for each one of us is just the same. We all have to do some level of clarification and justification for idiotic things that we’d rather not have to deal with. But such is life!

So going back to my point - people in general are not stupid - they will figure out the truth and you needn’t worry about such petty things which will sort itself out with time.

Now, my dear Amit Uncle (you are my father’s age so I have to be proper) - do your children complain that you are in total role reversal. Do you depend on your kids to make decisions for you. My parents(very accomplished in lots of ways) are totally acting like kids. They will call me for the smallest things and ask me to make decisions for them. Now, why is that? I have to say it is tough to see your parents age.

    Have a BEAUTIFUL day today!

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,

Namaste. yes, for some people work is life, it is their way to feel connected to the world…so why not keep working as long as they have the abilities to. people, out of care and concern, might give advises to slow down a bit, or have some rest. but for those who love working that much, taking rest means something is not going well in the world…actually i know some people who feel the same…it gives them happiness.

people would love to show you much affection, not only some. people around the world have affection and respect for you Mr. Bachchan. thanks for sharing these pictures and this video with us.

well…i always maintained that it is better if you just ignore these media ‘fabricated’ issues whose only concern is to annoy and disturb you…but, yea, sometimes one feels that enough is enough, and that he needs to give a retort, and take action.

even if, for some, the internet is an insignificant medium, for a lot of people it is significant…and i think people would love to read your real words, than these ‘fabricated’ topics.

it is always a pleasure connecting to you,
i hope you keep it up, and never stop to ‘express your self’

with an everlasting love to an everlasting light,

    Dear Mr Bachchan….

    Re: Abishek Incident.

I am addressing the issue pragmatically as I think it requires it.

If there is no truth in the allegation, then you have the right to be angry! What an insufferable accusation! You also have the right to take action against this/these vindictive, vile, venomous person/people/party. They are obviously acting with intent to cause harm/trouble.

It is not wrong to correct matters when the wrong being done is severe. And false accusations if done many times would certainly be put in the category of severity. Some wrong sometimes needs to be dealt with severely. You said you have taken action before through the court, then why not do it again. If you feel this strongly about the matter.

I am sorry but my knowledge of law is very limited ( I had started to study law through open university a few years back now but because of other commitments I have not finished my study on this field - and doubt if I will). Also I doubt, if I had the knowledge, if it would be useful as I am sure a case would be dealt with differently in India. In any case, I don’t rely on governmental laws. They are amendments made by imperfect men and therefore flawed. But there are times when laws can be use for our advantage to correct wrong matters. Another point to consider is God’s view. When I make decisions I would like to think that I follow God’s view and act accordingly.

This is a saying taken from the Bible.”The wicked one is plotting against the righteous one, And at him he is grinding his teeth” (Ps. 37:12). Only God knows what make some people behave in such a malicious manner. God himself does not tolerate injustice. So why should we? Sometimes we need to take action. Sometimes the only way a problem is solve is through the court.

My goodness, you are never left alone before another scenario happen. I hope and pray that you have the strentgh to fight this battle if you so wish to deal with it head on. I also hope and pray that God gives you the strentgh to endure if you choose to suffer it in silence.

I am sorry, forgive me sir but my head cannot think straight now. 1:45 in the morning….and I too need my rest and sleep.

I hope you are not dwelling and mulling things over your head all night….please have some sleep.

My support, love and affection in abundance I send them all to you…..

That is distressing news to have false allegations made against your son. As a parent that must be very distressing for your and as your son, he must be feeling quite angry about this slur. I would certainly understand too if his mum, sis and wife are ropeable because of it. But truly karma is a wonderful thing. People such at these and those that report on false allegations will definately have it come back and bite them on the a..s It happens.
I dont’ know many parents/spouses that would not roar when their child/spouse is threatened and roar louder than if it was themselves being attacked. This is the a true sign of your character and compassion as just another human being really.
I agree as a community we can always change things but it takes individuals in that community to make the change happen. To live a good life is a task sometimes difficult to accomplish for some but rest assured they are learning their lessons in one way or another. In the meantime take heart that your child is safe, secure in his father’s love for him. He has most likely turned out to be just another man trying to live a good life with the capacity to catch whatever is thrown his way.

Have a simply fantastic day cos the sun’s shining :) Just beautiful. :)

I have come by a few times before, however never thought of commenting. After looking at the madness above I just couldn’t stop myself.*smiles*
So many people trying to catch a glimpse of you, risking their lives! Gosh! How does it feel Mr.Bachchan?!?!

Speaking of this madness, I remember when I was a kid (I am 22y/o now) I had come to visit a friend in juhu; she lived in Palm Beach (she is back home in S.Korea now). My rickshaw was following your van, ermmm…not really lol. I mean we were right behind your vehicle. And let’s say my luck, you stopped right next to the building where my friend resided. I jumped off the rickshaw and you got out of your van. In order for me to reach the building’s gate I had to pass through the little space between your van and the gate.
I remember this large looming figure. Yeah well you’re 6′3″ and I was hardly 4 feet tall back then…hehehe. Anyways I looked up at you and smiled. And you know what?!?! You didn’t smile back at me & looked away :(. I still wonder why?

I don’t intend to make you uncomfortable; you don’t have to answer any of the above questions if you don’t want to. Was just wondering why someone who sounds so warm would act so coldly with a young kid? :)

Before signing off I would like to mention that the photographs posted by you are great. Shows just how much you are loved and admired by one and all.

    Take care

Whenever you write about your father my mind goes down memory lane. You said your father answers all his mail personally and in his own hand. I consider myself lucky because I also got in my possession few of your father’s letters written personally by him, when he used to stay at Gulmorah Park in Delhi. Waiting for the postman receiving the letter reading the letter again & again and preserving it, gives immense joy those days. Electronic media did rob all those small pleasures. But still advanced technology has got its own benefits. For example I am writing to you. You respond to your fans.. Sharing one’s thoughts and feelings relieves you as well as make you feel happy .suddenly you are among midst of so many readers many readers reading your article and giving their opinion also. Don’t you feel thrilled you directly sharing your opinions and feelings with commoners. For me it really gave me a high when I shared my opinion with great personality like you.
About the media and channels, now-a-days everybody wants to be in the news, wants publicity. If they don’t have any good material to show any imaginary topic will do for them. Let them do their job. You do” Joe aap ka mann ka accha lage.”—jaya.

    Dear Amitji,
Do you believe in Horoscopes? In the supernatural? I am a budding astrologer (when I’m not sailing on ships) and have taken the liberty of casting your horoscope… just to study why you are what you have become…
Incidentally my Dad was a student of your Late Father in Allahabad (we still have a family house in Leader Road I think), and yes, I can recite every couplet of Madhushala after a wee drop! Heeheehee….
So coming back to your horoscope here is your current position of planets:
You are in Ketu Mahadasha, Venus Antardasha, and Surya Pratyantar Dasha….
“In the Pratyantar Dasha of the Sun in the Antar Dasha of Venus, one may suffer from fever, headache, and anguish caused by those in authority and enemies.”
This combined with your Mangal Dosha is not a pleasent time… Please Sir, take care of you self, and since it surely will result in the bliss of your spouse getting disturbed, please pray to the Shanideva on every Saturday.
A blue saphire, an emerald and a diamond will also be benificial….
    God Bless!

I was going through the cine magazines lately curious to know the BO verdict on ‘Sarkar Raj’ and I found the media in particular who reports BO collection comes up with all sorts of nasty comments. Most of them hell bent to declare the movie a flop but public knows that movie is already a hit. I don’t trust any of the cine magazines now except couple. Similarly they came up with the story of Abhi slapping a spot boy which is again false news and has been confirmed by you. I am glad that you have started blogging so we know the real side of the story. Don’t give damn to these biased media guys. Keep moving in the life.
