Los Angeles, USA          July 26, 2008       8:45 am

An intermittent clutter on the banana tree to the right of my room window, wakes me up. A brown fuzzy tailed squirrel, precariously poised on the delicate branch of the fruit tree, moves gingerly towards an exotic looking flower that has bloomed near by. Conscious and swift in observing any unwanted movement, it reacts to the raising of my head and stops in its tracks. Fuzzy tail held high, motionless. I raise my hand. Squirrel disappears.

I marvel at their mobility, particularly now with my own rather sad immobility. I try to match squirrel mobility in getting out of bed. The only thing that disappears swiftly, is my hope, of matching Miss Squirrel. Miss Squirrel ? Ya ! Yesterday one of the respondents, drat ! such a legal sounding expression, ok, not respondents, fellow bloggers, raised an eyebrow when I reflected to the Almighty as HE ! Fair observation. Qualified enough for longer and sincere debate. But not today please !

So back to bed, squirrel, swiftness, mobility.

The body creaks, the breathing is blocked, the chest whirs its objections and the feet tremble their weakness. BUT…

MR AB ! GET GOING !! REHEARSALS IN A COUPLE OF HOURS AND THEN SHOWTIME !!

People, audience, fans, well wishers, ticket holders, promoters, organizers, colleagues…

They come first.

Fever and flu, just flew outa da window as swiftly as da brown squiggy, man !

Try and send you more photos..

See ya !!

Love and love..errr…in case you did not comprehend, thats ol’ me at rehearsal..

    Hello Mr. Bachchan,
This is V. K. Mago, in digging memories from many years ago I used to to be close friends with Amrita Pritam, dear friend of your mother Late Teji Bachchan. At that time I studied your signatures, as I am a Handwriting Analyst (HandwritingSpeaks.Com). Amrita Pritam and many famous writer have written in books about me. I currently reside in Houston, TX I wanted to see if I can get a chance to read your signatures again, including that of your family. In the past when Aishwarya Rai visited Houston for a show, she showed some eagerness to consult with me through Vishali and Shrima her In-Laws. So, I did not want to miss this chance of your arrival in Houston. Please reply promptly, my e-mail is VKMAGO@aol.com.

    Hi Sir(car),

Wish you a quick recovery…Yeah HE and SHE..THEY matter…but why can’t you address HIM as HIM and as HER as well at the same time?

You look like hero in the picture…like we complement each other when one is really well dressed tip-top to look best..well I understand Jayaji must be behind the camera to cheer you up…I am still worried..did you receive you bags which were lost in different parts of world; courtsey airlines…well I always advice to keep some dress in cabin bags(matching pairs) just is case we and our bags don’t arrive together. You should have listened. See now the result of not reading my blog.

Till now you haven’t revealed what are doing in Tour…dancing, singing - rang barase and mere angane main.I had of guessed it that it has come from your father..I too come from same background were few more ’saa raa raa’ holi song are still popular…and I seriously doubt if any A grade movie will incorporate them. But seeing the declining trend of morality in movies I doubt my doubt.
In the name of ‘artistic creativity’ anything is possible. Well no offenses to anyone…I too do dramas (as protagnanist) but I keep some standard.

With lots and lots of respect Sir— Thank God that you are feeling little better and thanks a million for posting a picture of you during rehearsal. Please sir, always do post a picture or two with every time you post something, even if it’s the walls around you as you did, it just gives so much personal touch and makes me reach right next to you and if I may say so for billions others who also love and respect you. It just made my day although I am still so sad and grumpy just thinking about Vancouver Show cancellation. I am trying to cope with it and trying to learn a hard lesson that आदरणीय पूज्यनीय बाबूजी taught you and through you I am trying to understand it.

My heart fills with so much pride when I read what fellow bloggers write you, there is one letter by A. R. Meenakshi at no. 434 on day 93 that made me cry and I hope and pray that you read it. I prayed for her dad and I am sure if you did as well, he will survive as you are the most loved man on this planet and if you pray , परमात्मा ज़रूर सुनेगा.

Incidentally I also developed flu symptoms yesterday and यह संयोग है या क्या , but I would like to believe that God has been kind to me and passing on your sickness to me so you get better and perform tonight. यह जो भी है but this makes me feel good if this is what God has done than I consider myself very fortunate.

Sir, no kidding you are the best actor ever on this planet, look how observant and sensitive you are, your description of squirrel waking you up was so heart warming.

Sir, for the last 4 months or so, everyday I was dreaming of the moment when you would be on the stage and I would be sitting in front of you but यह सब क्या हो गया ………. I will be just happy to read about fellow bloggers reaction after every show.

Sir, you have all my best wishes for LA show tonight and आपका flu जल्दी से ठीक हो जाए .

Sir, Since your language is so impeccable, you might enjoy reading this essay!!

    Warm Regards
    Dunston

You’ll forget English by the time you finish reading this. This is a true essay written by a Bihari candidate at the UPSC (IAS) Examinations.

The candidate has written an essay on the Indian cow:

    Indian Cow

HE IS THE COW. “The cow is a successful animal. Also he is 4 footed, And because he is female, he give milks, [but will do so when he is got child]. He is same like God, sacred to Hindus and useful to man. But he has got four legs together. Two are forward and two are afterwards. His whole body can be utilized for use. More so the milk. Milk comes from 4 taps attached to his basement. [Horses don't have any such attachment]

What can it do? Various ghee, butter, cream, curd, why and the condensed milk and so forth. Also he is useful to cobbler, waterman’s and mankind generally. His motion is slow only because he is of lazy species, Also his other motion.. gober is much useful to trees, plants as well as for making flat cakes [like Pizza], in hand and drying in the sun.

Cow is the only animal that extricates his feeding after eating. Then afterwards she chews with his teeth that are situated in the inside of the mouth. He is incessantly in the meadows in the grass. His only attacking and defending organ is the horns, especially so when he is got child. This is done by knowing his head whereby he causes the weapons to be paralleled to the ground of the earth and instantly proceed with great velocity forwards. He has got tails also, situated in the backyard, but not like similar animals. It has hairs on the other end of the other side. This is done to frighten away the files which alight on his cohesive body hereupon he gives hit with it.

The palms of his feet are soft unto the touch. So the grasses head is not crushed. At night time have poses by looking down on the ground and he shouts. His eyes and nose are like his other relatives. This is the cow……

We are informed that the candidate passed the exam, and is now an IAS, is Bihar in somewhere..[Sorry somewhere in Bihar]

And my dedication to you became even more pakka, when you wer down and under after ABCL debacle, when you owed huge money (99 crore rupees Ithink) and you paid every penny back and that too at an age when usually ppl look forward to a retired and sedate life. No wonder, you are eternally loved and admired! The super sensational personality at 66, you remain so because of your enigma, your personality, your humility - need I go on? Dear Mr.Amitabh,

Calling the Almighty and later by a pronoun HE is noticed by some fellow bloggers. Can you say that it was not knowingly. No knowingly, because in post Karishma kapoor -Abhishek break up in a TV interview you quipped that “Jaldi se jaldi Abhishek shaadi kare aur woh ek beta ka baap bane”.[this was the text of your statement]

In the Almighty matter it is a fact that you love a male inherent for looking after your legacy. As far as the Almighty is concerned you often visits ‘TIRUPATI VENKATACHALPATI’ & ‘SHREE SIDHI VINAYAK’and hence inadvertantly uttered HE.

    Dear Amitji,

I’m certain that the Unforgettable in LA was as superb as in Toronto and Trinidad. We are looking forward to it in San Frncisco (Oakland) on Saturday 27th. Best of luck.

    God is He or She?

God is beyond any comparison to human form or gender. Accordingly, the issue of whether to refer to God as He, She or It does not arise.

Many people believe that Man was created in the image of God and that is good. Many people believe that God is a female and that is good. Others believe that God is an amorphous spirit without shape or form and that is good. Some believe that the omnipotent spirit of God may assume any form at will while still others believe that the face of God is to be seen in the sun, the moon, the stars, the birds, the trees and every part of Creation and that is good.

Whether God is He or She or Spirit makes absolutely no difference at all for God is God and as long as we give thanks to God for the blessings bestowed upon us and all other living things, God is happy.

Traditionally God is referred to as ‘God the Father’ or ‘He’. However, God is satisfied with being called by any name or believed to be of any sex or no sex at all so long as there is love and respect in the heart of the worshipper.

    Hello Mr.A.B,

It really is sometimes so difficult to digest the kind of responsibility you guys carry. But it definately makes sense that ‘coz there is so much of efforts, finances etc involved in the job that you do that you cannot just relax and let your illness go the normal way.
I am down with viral but cannot think of travel though I too had to goto Pune for an important errand. Maybe that is what makes your life bigger than the rest of us. Truly appreciated and am proud to tell people that my HERO(for the last 23 years) is the REAL HERO.
The pics of the stage look better and bigger than to what I saw last.
Here in Mumbai the rain-god seems more than generous, though there is an undercurrent of fear amongst people after the two consecutive terrifying days of serial blasts in Bengalooru and Ahmedabad.

Your fascination towards a squirrel reflects the inner child in you, the innocence and simplicity of such beings and our admiration towards them prooves that we all have a child inside us. This also tells us that big stars like you are human too, and that is what makes you even bigger.
In short, this side of yours has really impressed me OR should I say that Mr.A.B always bounces back and makes his fans realize that there are more reasons for them to admire him than just he being a good actor.

I am now happy that finally I too can relax at home and drop this mail to you.
    My wishes for your tour.
May God bless you and your family and keep providin you the strength to fight your illness.

    Dear Sir,

We have been closely following your blogs for the last couple of days and we read about your trip to Kedarnath. The sight of porters, uncared children on the street, patients without care in government hospitals is a common sight in India. This shook us lot too when we came to India for a holiday from the UK 4 years ago…shook us to such an extent that we have now given up our jobs, relocated to India and started an initiative called RangDe.Org. Rang De is an initiative that every Indian can become a part of…any Indian who carries the burden of not having been able to do anything for his/her fellow Indians. Sir, you too can become a part of this humble attempt. Something that has really intrigued us about NGOs and charities in India is lack of people with power(not political) but the power to influence minds and win mind shares being associated with them. Most celebrities end up doing one off Ads or a promo or at the most become volunteers and donate money. Imagine if a few celebrities in India took up a cause of their choice and championed for it…this could even move mountains…and we are just talking about people. That is the power people like yourself possess and to this day this power remains unused for social good.
Hope you are feeling better and your show was a success. We watched Bhoothnath yesterday and we loved it. If its ok with you…we would like to share more thoughts on social activism in India.

I really wanted to attend your show tonight when you are visiting LA. I had seen you in nagpur I think at a show most likely in 1986 or something. But due to some reasons I couldn’t attend your show tonight here in LA. I don’t know how long you are here in LA but I would really like to meet with you for 5- 10 minutes if you have time. I can’t believe how big Abhishek has become. I still remember a picture I think I saw in Times of India way back sometime in 80’s with him and Schweta at some filmfare awards. They were kids. I am sure you are very proud of him. I always try and watch your movies whenever time permits. I would love to hear back from you. You can also call me at 1-949-337-3302 if you get time during you visit here. I would love to take you around to show you Malibu if you have time tomorrow ie. sunday. I am a big fan and just recently came to know about your blog. I also want to apologize for all the hassles Raj Thakrey created for you recently. I am a marathi and want you to know that I was really happy to see the way you responded back to his comments saying.. India is a democracy and everyone has right to express themselves. I think you are the first person to say that in India. I always heard that here in US and Canada but I am so happy to see that you have the same standards for democracy. I love India and am glad that you are still part of the public service the way you are out there. God has given you the charisma with which you can really make a difference in lives of millions of Indians. May god keep you healthy and happy. I pray for your good health, prosperity, happiness and family life. Pls. email me or call me if you get time. Would love to meet with you.

some times in life yes we get a tranquillizer, when we have all things in mind but due to our immobility we can not give a practical touch to the thoughts, this is life sir, we never know what it wants from us, and even things become lame if we dont see any ups and down, “” a driver to become sleepy if he dont find any bumps on the roads, these ups and down are required for a man in his life to tackle the problem of getting off road and then come back to roads.
alas! what I see is, the squirrel has given you the hint that now its your time to get on the roads,
“get well soon — get well on the roads”

What a week! A week full of events and entertainments, where I cannot even come close to my computer. My eagerness makes me come to my iphone, but the iphone (my newest gadget, I believe I can trust), deserts me and leaves me with questions as to what you make have written again on the blog. The world changes in a second they say, mine has been a bit topsy turvy this week. To top it I see my most loving blogger has been ill and has been kept company by a lovely Ms Squirrel!
So after all the remedies that have been suggested by family and those suggested by fellow bloggers, I am just going to let you be you and let you find your energies again. It was refreshing to see your picture posted on the blog today. Well to tell you the truth, you have always looked good (like you look in this picture too) but that I say because of the person you are from your vivid personality and the person you are within. It reflects on your outer personality and projects the way you are as a person.
Don’t bottle yourself in clothes, you look just as sexy as you did the first time you came on the silver screen. Keep your wonderful personality and it will reflect the amazing person you are.
I hope you have a wonderful show tonight and that you as always get the admiration of thousands from all over the world, all colors – one mankind.
Loved seeing you, the writer of this blog, more than the actor AB that everyone knows, the person that I have learned to admire from his writings.

    Love Krupali

I really enjoy reading your thoughts Mr. B. Your squirrel musings reminded me of a past image. I once looked out my window, several years back, to find a beautiful Snowy Owl resting on top of my neighbour’s roof. But no, it did not disturb me or wake me up from bed. It just stood there for days, completely silent, motionless, blinking occasionally. S/he looked so majestic, I would’ve loved to know what it was thinking. But it disappeared just as mysteriously as it had arrived. My mother saw it as a good omen though I didn’t buy into that. Yet for some reason, that image of the owl across my window stills leaves an impression on me…

Anyway, I’m sure your show will rock! Thanks for the sneak peak through your photos, you’re looking as cool as ever! It’s refreshing to see you in ca
