New York, NY July 29, 2008  8:30 pm

Dearest All,

Drenched with the reactions of the San Francisco show and completely overwhelmed by the affection of the audience in the Bay Area, I have traveled on the ‘Red Eye’ to New York before we perform in Houston, for a little rest and recuperation.

It has been tough to ascertain which one turned out the best. But as of now I think the scales tilt in favor of SFO. Albeit marginally.

I must confess I was apprehensive on what San Francisco would hold for us. After a stupendous gig at LA, the law of averages would not have favored the next one. Also there was no time. We finished very late in Los Angeles and by the time we got back to the Hotel and dined and turned in it was around 3 in the morning. We had an early flight virtually arriving into SFO just in time for the show. There was no rehearsal. No time to even check the stage and barely enough space to get into our costumes. But, it all worked. There was a madness and frenzy backstage, but all worked out fine. Production and artistes are sincerely feeling that technically SFO was the best and are now also of the sincere opinion that maybe no rehearsals and a little frenzy adds to the final outcome.

The medication still continues as do the energy drinks just before going on, but there are fresh problems. Sores on the tongue ! It’s the antibiotics the doc says and many different kinds of creams and swabs and solutions are being applied, but it’s been 4 days now and it is uncomfortable and painful. Problem eating, talking, swallowing, speaking…
But on stage… the roar from the crowds makes you forget everything.

Abhishek and Aishwarya took off yesterday also. In another direction. Via the Pacific to Mumbai. Abhishek endorses Omega and he has an event in New Delhi tomorrow. So, and this is crazy, he will reach there in the morning, go to Delhi and attend the event in the evening and at night set off again for Houston, arriving a night before the show !!

Time, space, travel, communication have become so intransient.

Many responses talk of the emotion connected to the show, the efforts made to travel to the venue from distances not traversed normally. They talk of being moved to tears to see us in person and to be fulfilling long-standing dreams. It is to us too equally emotional. We shed tears of joy at seeing your appreciation. It may not look very evident but I can tell you that inside all of us there are similarities. I cannot say what sparks it, but spark it does. And in the quiet of our bedrooms or wherever it is that we find ourselves in solitude a retrospection a self-appraisal unconsciously takes place, where we cherish and relive the moments spent with you in public.

Many of you mention that you spend days talking, discussing, what you saw and what you experienced. It is no different our end. A moment, a face, an expression in the audience, a remark, everything. We talk about it. We laugh over it. We lament at having forgotten something we should or could have done. We allow it to become a part of us for days and years. To the youngsters, as we sit around, I still give vivid memories of my past stage experiences. What happened then. How it happened. Who did what and where. This generation is fortunate that every move of theirs will be documented. Our pity is that nothing was documented ever. No photographs, no recordings, nothing. We never did those events with the intent of creating substance for posterity. We did it to go out and enjoy an evening with friends and well wishers. We never looked at it as usable software for the future, as a potential asset, as a property to be stored. It was just the thrill of being together and spending an evening of fun and entertainment. Much of the Western world and in particular the Americans have a culture of keeping records, even if it is seemingly immaterial. And it is remarkable how well documented their past is, visually. In the East, or at least in India and its surrounding regions the emphasis has been more on the verbal than the visual. Actions deeds and words from our ancestors come down to us through words and moments spoken to us through our elders, almost generational.
There is a rush at times to unload all or most of it somewhat hurriedly. It emanates perhaps from the inevitable. Before the brain goes into retard mode, all that is required to be taught or spoken must come through rapid procedure.

I find myself more vocal than before with my progeny. I have very little to give, but whatever I have needs to go swiftly.

Is this why I blog ? Is this an unconscious occurrence ?

I really do not know and maybe never shall.

My love as always

Amitabh Bachchan

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,

Congratulations on the success of your shows!

I am sure you are aware of the incidents which have occured in Bangalore and Ahemdabad in last one week. If it is not much of a problem for you, it will be great if you can use your platform (”Unforgettable” tour) to highlight this issue with our NRI brothers. Any support from them will be of great help to the people going through this trauma.

Hope you will get many more accolades in coming days.

    Bachchan Sahab,

In San Francisco, it was the first time in my life i saw you. And i feel blessed now! I had the best 4 hours of my life.. 8pm-12am! just amazing. The stage was so amazingly set it was as if i watching IIFA. The lights, the sound, the crowd, everything was just perfect. Starting from the act of Riteish, to the entry of Abhishek and ofcourse his rocking performance (never looked he was new to concerts, was a pro), Vishal + Shekhar were just awesome.. performing LIVE on stage has a totally different experience for the viewers, Ashwairya looked beautiful and danced great, & so was Mrs. Madhuri who looked fabulous and gracious as ever (thanks for inviting her to the tour), Jayaji’s tiny speech made it a complete family treat. And then came “U”, wow….simply WOW! I WAS LIVING MY DREAM. Just loved the way you recited ‘kabhi kabhi’ & sung songs with that melodious voice. The dialogues from ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Deewar’ were truly phenomenal. For once i thought i was actually watching the scene from the movie. Seriously I BOW DOWN to you :)

This truly was ‘The Unforgettable Tour’, shall remain in my heart for years to cherish.

Wish you all the very best for remaining shows & take good care of yourself.

Looking forward to see you again in San Francisco!!

I think the one striking thing Mr. Bachchan, you blog has done, is open up to the whole world the fact that you (and indeed all other super stars), have the same emotions, insecurities, the physical challenges, and feelings as the rest of us! The fact that you have to perform no matter what, whether you have sores in your mouth or fever in your body, is similar to what the rest of us have to endure (albeit, in our case, it may be more mundane such as going to an office, or a meeting, or a business event.) Your blog (and your prolific updation - nearly on a daily basis!) has humanized you as never before. Therefore this medium is truly a game-changer. And all of us admire your single-mindedness in making sure you document your life-events and your thoughts every day, so thank you, and we hope this continues for a long long time to come!

You are right, things were not well documented then. You are fortunate enough to witness the transition of era’s and probably that brings with it a responsibility for you to introduce the younger generation with how things were back then. may be a book, may be a documentary or any toehr way, we need to know about the simpler ages.

This is my first ever post to you. I am not even sure whether you will read my post…but trust me, when I am writing this, I have tears in my eyes…literally. I know everyone says that they are big fans of yours….I also have the same thing to say to you. You are like “KHUDA”. I don’t think there are any words to describe you and your work…you are a genuine person…you are real…you are awesome…you are kind…you are AMITABH.

I saw your show at SFO….I was there with my hubby and my toddler. You won’t believe that even my baby enjoyed your show thoroughly. My hubby had tears in his eyes when you recited the dialogues of Deewar. What an amazing actor you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have such a great ability to create the same magic again after 30-35 years….that too without any RETAKES!!!!! You were live there on the stage and you said all those lines without any rehearsal /retakes…with the very same emotions and expressions….IT IS UNBELIEVEABLE.

Amit ji….bas ek khwahish rah gayi…..bahut dil tha ki aapko personally mil paate…even for a minute. I would always regret that I couldn’t meet you in person. I really hope and pray that I see you and meet you sometime in my life time…may be soon. CAN YOU COME TO SFO AGAIN AND LET YOUR FANS MEET YOU???….Please Amit ji….can you do it for me? For all your fans out there? I know I am beling UNREASONABLE…..but these words are straight from my heart.

Amit ji…last but not the least…about your HEALTH….you are such a kind person and you have millions of people who wish you the best. Trust me…these WISHES will never go in vain….You will be fine soon and you have a long life ahead. I pray to God daily and ask him for good health and happly life for my family and myself. NOW, RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS…..bhagwan aapko bahut achchi sehat aur bahut khushiyan dega. If you read my MESSAGE, you must have felt remarkable improvement in your health. Bhagwan ka haath hai aapke ooper.

I feel I can continue writing to you. But I must stop now.

“Much of the Western world and in particular the Americans have a culture of keeping records, even if it is seemingly immaterial. And it is remarkable how well documented their past is, visually. In the East, or at least in India and its surrounding regions the emphasis has been more on the verbal than the visual. Actions deeds and words from our ancestors come down to us through words and moments spoken to us through our elders, almost generational. ”

    This indeed an interesting observation.

    Sir,

The success of your show is everywhere and no matter who I read, everyone agrees that you owned the whole show (I already know what you’ll say, and you’ll be right, it is a team effort and people both on and off stage are all responsible) but people watching the show actually are the most impressed with you (and before you even think it, not because of how energetic you are despite your age). The way you seem to value everyone, the way you smiled and showed your appreciation and of course your art with your heart.

Congrats again and I hope that the same europhia will continue for both the artists and the viewers.

OK, I know you are going to get about 1001 (one of them being mine!) remedies for the sores, but here’s what: apply glycerine with a Q-tip every 15 minutes for about two hours. Should ease the pain.

Must take Vit C with antibiotics along with the Vit B group. Eeeks! can just imagine… the amount of tablets you must be taking, and then all that hectic activity, and then unable to eat and rest!

DO BE CONCERNED about health, and pay attention to it as and when required.

I do hope a “documentary” of sorts is being made of the shows - not just what happens on but all these reactions, chaos, frenzy and highs that you write about that is off stage. I continue to be curious as to what gives you the bigger high - live stage performances or watching your movie on the first day with an audience and the dawning of the reality that this is a movie that is going to be loved

I think if you can contribute in some manner in making the cyber crime department of our country strong. Be it an appeal to our experts who are contributing in other nations & are badly needed right here in the heart of our nation, or by contributing monetarily if they need it.
Politicians have lost there charm, no one trusts & listen to them. There display of patriotism & feelings is seen by all in parliamentary proccessions. The kind of power cricketers & actors possess today need to be channelised for real patriotic work not social work.

    Dear Sir,

Congratulations on the stupendous success of your shows! I sometimes wonder how would it feel to be loved, adored, revered by millions…across boundaries, across caste & creed! Is it just a great feeling or an added responsibility to be able to live upto the innumerable expectations, some fair and some unfair, of those millions? I believe, winning over hearts is perhaps not that difficult but to not let that love, admiration fade away with the passage of time is extraordinary, isn’t it? So why do you have to feel indebted to our love? Yeah we love you from the core of our hearts, we get worried each time you get entangled in any problem, we pray for your success and good health and all that’s selfless but its because you are worthy of all that. To not let this success go to your head, to remain so grounded…this humility of yours is actually unbelievable. I have tried hard to reason out and make myself believe that this is all fake, this unaffected humility despite the unprecedented success of yours …can’t be for real but I have failed miserably each time. My love for you that began years ago during my childhood has only grown stronger with the passage of time and today I want to thank you for always having risen upto those unrealistic expectation levels, for being my Idol, my Hero Always….

    With Love,

    Dearest Big B,

Actually donot know how to start and where to start from!!! So many things to be told and expressed to you and I still can’t believe I am corresponding with THE BIG B!!!! Thanks to the world of internet!!!

I read about your blog quite some time back but actually visited your blog some days back only. But, believe me, from that day onwards, I have your blog opened on my system every single day. I eagerly wait to read your blogs which doesnot just cover up your bollywood moments but also throws insight to various issues of life. I am reading your past blogs as and when I am getting time.

To be frank, I respect you very much as a PERSON (as WHAT YOU ARE) and just not becuase you are an actor. I believe acting was a medium through which we as audience could see your persona as a human being. The way you respect your elders, your views on different issues, your down-to-earth personality, the way you accept your well-wishers as well as your critics. These are qualities which are not usually bundled into one individual, but you are like a rare gem in this fast-paced and selfish world. To top it all, you have a wonderful family.

I would love to know more about your childhood or about the moments in your life till date sans related to Bollywood. Although, I know its very personal and private to share it with all of us, but at the same time, I believe such junctures in your life might be able to inspire or motivate people scattered around the world. I believe, if there is any such thing which can do good to others should be shared. But, let me assure you that its totally your decision about sharing your joys and sorrows with us.

As and when I do get time to correspond with you via blog, I will put in my thoughts. I would treasure your replies, if any, for generations to come.

Just one sincere request, please upload more snaps of your family, the Unforgettable Tour, on your blog.

    Dear Sir,

that’s an eerie thought - that one you end your blog with today.
I always thought you ‘only’ blog for fun and relaxation, the joy of writing, of communicating with the masses, and the need to clarify things - all of which isn’t meant disrespectfully.
Of course everyone fears the inevitable, but measured by Western standard, you’re way too young to fear your brain ‘going into retard mode’. I know in India you feel old, since most people are so much younger - hell, even I felt old there, being 20 years your junior. But then I go back to Europe and see the majority of people happily, healthily living well into their eighties. So please don’t you worry about needing ‘to go swiftly’. Maybe you’re just more tired than you like to admit - after all, you’ve been pushing yourself to the limits and beyond, with all these shows. And even the best of adrenaline rushes runs out sometimes, and leaves one slightly depressed…

Get well soon, sir, and keep on blogging. I hope to see you from afar soon - in Oberhausen, Germany, if that rather chaotic event organizer manages to sell enough of his (overprized) tickets and get the show going.

Many regards, and lots of love!

I had thought many times to post a reply here, but always resisted as I didn’t want to be one amongst many who bothers you everyday here. Today after reading your latest blog, something struck me. I have a photo of yours taken when the shooting for Sholay had just begun. There are four gentlemen in the photo. You, Mr Dharemendra, Mr Sanjeev Kumar and Mr Amjad Khan. All of you are standing sloce to each other with hands on each other’s shoulders. You guys are looking at Mr Asrani pracising in his jailor’s uniform for a scene. Though Mr Asrani is not visible in the photo. I had got this photo in an email from my friend earlier. Its a very touchy photo. Even the photo reminds of the great Sholay. And since you have mentioned the following lines in your blog, I felt like sahring this with you….
“Who did what and where. This generation is fortunate that every move of theirs will be documented. Our pity is that nothing was documented ever. No photographs, no recordings, nothing…..”

I am sorry but I don’t know how to send that photo to you. I would sincerely request you to have a look at that photo and then sahre a few thoughts about it with all of us. If you can let me know of any email ID where I can send it, I shall do so immediately.

I pray to the God almighty for your early recovery and best of health so that all your audeinces can enjoy to the fullest during your current tour. There is so much they can enjoy from your tour. Greetings again from the Pacific Northwest,

We are so sorry to hear that your issues continue with health. Many are prescribing various things for you to try, and I also second what your doctors have said regarding the antibiotics causing side effects. Very important that you try to eat fresh yogurt with active cultures in it and take other things that have probiotics. I like to also drink kefir very much every day for breakfast. I am sure these things are available wherever you are; they will help to replace the natural balance in your body. The antibiotics are killing the good as well as the bad; the solution is to keep renewing the good, until the antibiotics are all gone and afterwards, at least for awhile. I am sure that you probably have yogurt regularly in your diet, as it is a staple in India as well as here in the US and other places around the globe. It really does help very much, I have had to double up on these things since being on antibiotics for my own infections.

I am very sad that Vancouver was cancelled. I had the thought that perhaps the TOUR could come to Seattle’s Key Arena instead? I do not know if there is an opening in their schedule, but surely someone in management could check???

In this way, you could be within same drive time from Vancouver fans as Seattle fans were going to Vancouver, and we could still have you here! I am working my brain to find how to see you, I would help in any way possible. In the meantime, I am praying for your health, and wishing you and everyone else all the best. It is perhaps not God’s will we see you this trip, and it is a hard medicine to swallow, if this is so.

    All the best, always,

    Dear Mr.Bachchan ,
Yes it is indeed a marvellous feat to witness technological advances that enable us to capture unforgettable moments in time. In fact when I visit the popular website youtube.com, I find mini video clips of events currently being staged at my alma mater , something that was unthinkable and impossible in my days ten years ago. We did not even have mobile phones at our disposal to assure our parents of our well being or assure ourselves of theirs. Instead we would resort to those little blue inland envelopes and write about little mundane things that filled our days. The other alternative was to make a bee line for the hostel telephone and wait to make a call once a week , or wait for a call at a predetermined time - and that too was was a costly affair. All this appears so ancient and will probably not be appreciated by todays youngsters who have it all and have it so easy!
Anyhow , wish you have a great and truly unforgettable tour !

    Respected Brother,
    Sadar Charan Sparsh,
He who loves is always loved and your love for the rest of us is never in short supply after you adopted the available internet technology as the medium to interact freely. The legendary Amitabh Bachchan is the most easily accessible person through this wonderful medium of Internet. I share my thoughts with him almost everyday!

Amitabh Bachchan is always there for us sharing views, commenting and narrating events of past and present and sometimes even future in such vivid manner as if we are face to face with him.

Well, I now feel that there is absolutely no need to meet you physically, atleast so very true for me. It was never so very important in the past as well otherwise I could have made more sincere attempts than two or three occasions that I passed past Prateeksha with the knowledge that a possibility to meet you was as impossible as plucking stars from the deep dark blue sky!

I am not here to narrate my own stories and miseries but to congratulate you on the superlative performances by you and your troupe. DNA reported Bachchans as the fourth most influential people in Mumbai. I would not agree with them when they talk of individuals they should not rope in Abhishek and Aishwarya alongwith you. I know you would have loved it that the whole of Bachchans are considered as one entity yet if I were to decide the listing should have you (individually) ahead of the rest by miles! I may be wrong but I have reasons. I do not understand what the DNA really meant by influential whether it is to be equated with popularity, contribution, success story or everything together. In any case these ratings are always subject to individual liking and I do not know if any poll was obtained to arrive or a panel picked up the names and decided on their own. The absence of Naseeruddin Shah and the presence of Dilip Vengsarkar irritates. Amitabhs and Tatas do not need any ratings or listing they are great by their achievements and their own high standards which they have set for themselves. I have nothing against the DNA for the individuals being picked from Mumbai alone. Yet it does give me an idea of a programme that you could anchor. I would rather like to call the show as Celebrities where you could interact that is share their thoughts, views and comments on life, values, India and the rest. It could be a great scene to see Amitabh in conversation with Ratan Tata or say Rahul Gandhi or for that matter even son Abhishek Bachchan. These are just the hints, if you wish I could further elaborate on the list and the agenda of CELEBRITIES.

I think it would be quiet a success and could also have a great social impact too.

More later, do not miss Gisele if she comes to New York show. Her website is http://www.giselebarbosa.net

Have complete rest with your tongue, you may use flash cards for seeking services like - water, silence please, we discuss later, I agree with you, and giving hand outs to shiamak and shekhar vishals what all they need to prepare for New York. Indeed you could be involved in planning without saying a word and by just being around. yes Vitamin C, Glycerine should be alright but the rest is the best remedy. I have found Smyle for mouth ulcers as the most effective in my case.

Give my love to everyone in the troupe and a message to the Indians in the America that yes we are indeed proud of their big achievemnets away from home! That we understand their being in the country that cares and delivers and respects science and technology and advancement in general. Their contributions in different fields do bring good name to India and make an impact on the world as a whole. I respect them as I respect any other Indian.

I think I must come to an end with the hopes that Amitabh Bachchan will bring new lights to the life of those who deserve it most! Long Live Amitabh and the Bachchan dynasty!

Abhaya Sharma, India, 30th July 2008, 14.00 Hrs.

PS I have made lot of comments even after saying more later. Kyaa karun, aapase baat karte huye man hi nahi bharata! (I am not even concerned whether you have time to read all this!, kuchh baat to hai Aap mein!)

    Dearest Mr Bachchan

Glad to know you are resting and recuperating.

True, the law of averages did not favour the next one to be another mega hit specially in the circumstances, illness and time for preparation against it, but you are not the usual “Law of averages” category kinda guy, are you? I will rate you at above average! Just to keep your feet firmly on the ground! ha! ha!

And there you go! No rehearsal and you still performed at your best. Perhaps there is something to be learnt from that. More rest and less rehearsal makes Mr B. more fun!

Sore tongue! Oh dear. How many different types of antibiotics were you taking? It’s all well and good to take medicine but you have to allow your body room to fight it’s own battle otherwise you are likely to weaken your immunity system even more.

Mind you listen to me giving advice! My cold went after a couple of days so because I thought I had gotten over it I carried on as normal. And the weather had been so good last week that I even went for a joy ride around Bucks county for a few hours. Then I had a relapse! I think the car windows being opened while driving perhaps was not a good idea. Turned cold into a nasty flu! Saturday to yesterday was bedridden mainly. Now getting better. Thank goodness. But again because of the coughing I have ended up with a deep manly voice so the “fancy a duet” is still on the offer! ha! ha!

My, what a hectic time travel Abishek and Aishwarya are contending with! Hope they will be both okay when they get back to U.S of A.

While as it is good to document everything memorable these days I think the good old tradition of telling history of our past memorable moments has a more emotional and endearing impact when verbally relayed to our children, grandchildren, friends and love ones. It is a tradition which is sadly diminishing and soon I suppose a couple more generation and it shall all be lost because of advance technos. Sadly. Times are rapidly changing for both better and for worse.

….”Before the brain goes into retard mode”…. Ha! ha! ha!… You are one big caboodle of laughter!!! If I grew up with a friend like you and knowing my personality, that friend and I would have been a “Dynamic Duo!” What fun could that have been. But reading your post I’m sure is more fun.

….”…my progeny…” well there’s something new! Never been called that before! Ha! ha! ha! I’m in stitches. You crack me up!! You are more vocal and candid probably because we are very vocal and candid and truthful to you. Maybe something you are not use to so find it thus refreshing and invigorating and exciting. You are perhaps responding in the manner that we treat you and write to you? It’s all good but always retain your dignified manner and of course your dignified wit! Both of which I find very endearing. But I love the fact that you are more relax now and it is showing in your writing more and more. But don’t get too relax that you’ll end up shedding the Mr Bachchan that I have gotten to know and love!!!

And you have a lot to give and always continue to give them even faster than swiftly if you can! Health permitting of course!

As to why you started blogging. I don’t know. But I think now we have become a part of your daily life, your daily routine, as you are ours. And perhaps The Almighty has a purpose to it all. You don’t know…….in time he shall reveal it…

Please take care specially to the health/illness. I hope the difficulty eating is not going to leave you weaken again. What’s the weather like in N.Y.? Will you have time to relax and sight see? Or is it promo work again?

And no pics of your room this time? Shame…

    Always love
    Rose C

PS. You question a lot but you can never answer you own questions! Suggestions; “Stay still and you will find you”, a few minutes to relax, reflect and ponder and search your own thoughts and feelings deep within might help? You may find the answers are all there lying dormant for you to discover! And prayers to the True God Almighty for guidance and wisdom to understand is all that you need. You just have to believe!

PPS. Did you make the decision you were hoping you would make in L.A?

I agree its a hectic and fun tour but i fail to understand y u had to pack in so much without giving any thought to rest and recuperation. Dear Mr. Bachchan,

I do entirely agree with the contents of this blog. Because of the absence of sophisticated technology your fans like us have missed lot more things. At least with the start of this blog we can enjoy the memories of yours through text.

One of my friends Mr. Kintan had sent some ephotos of your two programs of LA and SFO. They are wonderful.

Best wishes for the next show.

    Take care of your health.

    Respected Amitabh Ji,

    Hi

Sores on tongue. Whenever I am having sores on my tongue or on my lips I usually take Gelora Ointment once or twice and they are gone. Actually, these are all due to gastric problem or faulty digestic system. You should take plenty of fluids along with Vitamin C.

    Take care.

    Bye

its very rare that a person can write as well as he speaks.kudos; As i have written before you are my age and decided to take it easy and start withdrawing: i even started a death diary and called it so to document the last decade or so;but recently i decided to go against my previous decisions and call my diary “taking fresh guard” being inspired by sunil gavaskar who used to take fresh guard when he scored a century. And reading you my belief in life being a gift is reaffirmed; one must keep on performing on the stage of life till the last moment.each breath should be a celebration. take care KJ

    Dear Mr. Bachchan,

Please do be sensible and show yourself to a specialist - have your culture done and get blood samples taken. Pls don’t rest, assured that the sores are a result of the medication that you are taking. You are doing nothing to help yourself, and this is not expected from a gentleman of your lineage and stature! I am extremely disturbed and upset over the way your problems are increasing by the day and your indifference towards it, judging by the way you make so light of it in your blogs! Is adulation and public hysteria so intoxicating, that you are prepared to risk your well being? I guess I am wasting my time here. I cannot be a hypocrite and just keep lauding you for your looks and your performances and keep goading you to give us more, and pretend that all’s well with you, when you yourself keep us abreast with your health problems. Do I have to have say it it so many words - I wouldn’t be here, day after day, pouring out my anxieties and my worries, like hoardes of your other fans, if you didn’t matter to us. Why can’t you understand a simple fact, we don’t just cherish you for your performances and your skills, but for the person you are - the human being, the son, the husband, the father and the hero of countless fans! May God give you insight and help you sort out your priorities! God Bless!
