Ok ! I have news ! The soft ware from the server facilitating me to respond immediately below your comment has been initiated !! And I have done 2 sample replies too. So if you will go to DAY 121 and scroll down to the number of comments, you will find hopefully in a box below a readers comment, my response as well. HURRAY !!!
The server is still refining the system and there may be gliches but at least it is functional. What they are working on is that if there are 215 responses to my DAY, and I have answered say 50 of them, the reader will have to travel to his name in the entire responses to search for his reply from me. This is cumbersome. The server is trying to collate all my replies together, so the reader does not have to search for his name by scrolling down the entire list.
GREAT !!
So I shall be taking time out to reply some individual responses and do look forward to it.
Running off to the gym now and shall connect later.
It is a quiet day today I think. Some meetings lined up and mostly spending time with the family.
Tomorrow I shall be going to Leicester to open a building regarding the diabetes assessment facility being opened under the Silver Star Appeal, which was initiated by Rt Hon Keith Vaz, when I was last there.
It shall be a quick return trip. For, after that we get into rehearsals at the O2 for Sunday. It has been more than a few days since our last appearance on stage so the butterflies are back and they need urgent attention.
I am overwhelmed by the responses to my last blog and am grateful for all the sympathetic and a few not too sympathetic comments. It is important that I continue to do this, among other things as well.
More later,

You have been on several tours/ shows in the past to USA, England etc. What makes this time’s tour different? What different things have you noticed in the crowd , their behaviour etc. Are there any special occasions you remember about your past tours to this part of the world ? Do you intend to continue UNFORGETTABLES tour in India and Middle East as well ?
Finally, when would you be back in India and back to filming more beautiful films for us ?

Mr. Bachchan
I reproduce below something I had written for you on Day 118.
I wonder if you would oblige by taking a walk through the very beautiful Regents Park while you are in London.

Mr. Bachchan
I read somewhere on this blog that next you would be performing in London.
While in London please do find some time to have a leisurely walk through Regents Park. I have lived in London for nearly five years very close to this park and my day was never complete unless I made at least one trip to this park. It was (and still is) my favorite place in London. It is so lovely - the beautiful flowers all year round, those tennis courts where I have played so much tennis on weekends, the open air theatre, the rose garden, those sprawling lawns where people come to play and relax, the canal with all kinds of ducks, the bandstand, the beautiful Primrose Hill just across Prince Albert Road from where you can have a magnificent view of London skyline etc. etc.
An ideal place for a walk any time of the day. So soothing.
If that is not heaven then I do not know what else is!

That’s great. Now we can HOPEFULLY get direct response from you Amit Uncle. As requested earlier, please share with us about your experience working with Jaya aunty in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s movies like Mili, Chupke Chupke. I am an avid fan of ALL the movies starring you and Jaya aunty directed by Mr. Mukherjee. I have lost count the no. of times I have watched most of those movies.
Anyway, pleasure as always reading your blog without failure; such a wonderful feeling to know about you FROM you.

Dear Mr. B.,
It’s marvelous when a quiet day includes only a “few meetings …”
How exciting this new format is going to be for all of us! Your thoughts are most welcome when they’re most spontaneous, and I know that’s the effect the new system will have.
A social note … my cable installer, a little Hawaiian lady who scrambles up poles with the best of them, and with whom I became very friendly when she did my installation, came by tonight and we watched “Cheeni Kum,” which she adored. I introduced you to her some weeks ago in a small excerpt from “Sharaabi” (the office scene with Mr. Natulal and his moustache), and she’s been itching to see a whole one of your films.
How gratifying it must be for you to know that your work goes on and on decades after its creation, in remote areas as well as India, bringing people entertainment and relaxation at the end of the day. Now you have a new fan, and she has a new source of enjoyment.
Aloha from Hawaii …
Love, Dorothy

Dear Mr Bachchan,
I can understand why you talk like that about the media as they did wrong commants about Mrs Bachchan but is it fair to talk about Mrs Azmi like that :
“The other coming out looking like an angel and victorious because she stepped in to ‘take on the role’ instead”
I DON’T THINK SO.
I am a “black” (this is not racist at all!!!!!!!!!!!) french female who is fond of Bollywood industry and I notice that you have been credited of racist comment unfairly but find it strange that you talk about someone else so harshly.
perhaps I’m in the wrong but Mrs Azmi didn’t make any bad comment about your wife so why should she be attacked?
Sorry, if I seemed to be impolite (forgive me, “Amitji” hope is it the right term to call you)
Anyway, I like the great acting skills of any member of your family.
Especially, your Mrs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is a wonderful actress.
a last question :
Why your Tour doesn’t have any date in France ? you have a lot of fan here ( French people and some of African descent who love your movies)
hope you will come here next time .
Long life to you and your entire family.

You have got the tone and essence and the language of the post all wrong !! I have not attacked Ms Azmi. I am saying that the writer of the article is making one look good and one look bad, from a story that is untrue factually and completely wrong. The writer of article is attacking her. Not me.

I am learning a lot abt life from you . I wonder if Amitabh Bachchan can shoot round the clock and go for world tours at 66 why cant i decide to work afresh at 32 and then follow it later with an mba? When i see you I know that age is just a number.
And yes i guess u are doing the rt thing by lashing out. Now that people know you are going to revert they may actually start thinking twice by writing or saying carelessly about you.
I am sure if u write a book abt time management it will be a bestseller.

Then we read your clarification – only then the scene became very clear – ‘Thank You’ for that. I think you did the right thing by clarifying it - readers will always remember that and will help other celebrities too as their fans will sense such things in advance !!!
I found ‘Yesterday’, ‘props’ and ‘Getting sentimental in old age’ were really nuisance of her that way she presented them. Actually, some Indian’s dig down too much about other’s age and if they are even a year younger, they think they score a point on the older one for their comfort.
Ms Bharti please remember the following thing –
1. The thing that matter’s the is the most BREATH – Don’t forget the basic thing. The AGE is a very personal thing and just belongs to the person himself and how s/he carries it and take maximum advantage of AGE in his/her lifetime. I think Amit Ji carries it very enthusiastically and in a dignified way.
Your effort was to prove him old and hence show him less deserving to lift his dearest wife in his arms. Sorry on you, He does it because he can – Full Stop!
2. What’s the AGE of SUN – Is it too old, ever wonder what will happen if it becomes OLD for you ? ïŠ !
Amit Ji’s persona is just like Sun and yes, he is still a human being and deserves to do everything what his body and mind wants to do as a human being.
3. Every person is younger than someone and everyone is older than some. A-N-D you know when a person is youngest and oldest in his/her lifetime – Only then getting sentimental doesn’t apply. In the middle of being youngest and oldest – any person deserves to be sentimental !
What matters is that “Every Moment of The Life Should Be A Life Time Achievement!†– Amit Ji was just doing that the picture that you published – Thanks for publishing such a sweet picture of both of them though!
DELIGHTED to see both Jaya Ji and you in this lovely picture! Awesome!!!
(¨`•.•´¨) Always
.`•.¸(¨`•.•´¨) Keep
(¨`•.•´¨)¸.•´ Smiling! And Take good care!
.`•.¸.•´ Best Regards with lots of Love you and Jaya Ji.
Dolly and Mukesh Verma.

This is a second submission of this piece of blog as first one never could see the light of tha day for day 121! I Hope I am lucky, though I also realize, I need to be shorter in my comments! Good to see the arrival of technology that could help you to respond! what if someone could respond on your behalf. Probably you could put your scanned signature on the resonses to comments by you! I saw others could also comments made by fellow bloggers!
Media is malicious in modern times…
Respected Brother,
Sadar Charan Sparsh,
I read your views on media, journalists, and public relations on your latest blog. I somehow remember the times when you had all powerful days behind you and you could take the media one on one and still not get affected by it. You were at your prime then and had decided not to give interviews to the select or maybe it was all inclusive set of press and media. Those were different days, you were in a far more commanding position at that period of time, you had string of successful films behind you and probably you did not need the positive or negative comments from the media of that time rather it was media who wanted to make money by selling you.
Media must have developed an intense burning desire to have a chance to pounce upon you at the slightest excuse at your first mistake to time their revenge. With so very little available to them from you they had no option but to keep off from you. The media tried to create and take more interest in much less successful Anil Kapoor, who probably started getting a feeling that he was in same or later started misbelieving of a higher status. Or it was that you had successfully managed to keep away from them and yet not get affected by the media’s presence or absence in shaping your career. Whatever be the case maybe it did spark an insecure feeling amongst their clan to get you on to the defensive. Earlier too, they would make stories from half information on your relationships with Miss Rekha. I still remember how with great difficulty I had defended you in my service selection board interview of NDA fending one such question. Probably she herself might have liked the idea of being linked to the most successful man and egged on to some of the controversies and still got away with it as you did have great chemistry with her on screen. You could not deny your producers to cast other heroines when they knew that your salability with her as the leading lady was a sure mantra for the box office success. In this period we had Khoon Pasina, Mr. Natwarlal, Suhhag, and a couple of flop films as well like Besharam and was she also there in Alaap, Ganga Ki Saugandh and Imaan Dharam. Anyway I have no interest in your personal relationship with her now yet at that time I could not hear anything against you! ( and believe me there were thousands like me who actually could be considered as crazy amitabh followers! I would still not like to be called a fan even in those days! I could think for myself and could still tell a flop to be a flop even if my favourite actor was in the film.
So there was this theory that had been working in the mind of media that you had denied them their bread and butter by not speaking to them by shutting your doors on to them in your heydays! They were helped in the early eighties when all of sudden the filmgoers statrted taking and talking of parallel cinema, some of it was good and had good performances from the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Smita Patil and Shabana Azami. People considered it a fashion to discuss and describe art cinema. We had a string of films like Ardh Satya, Sparsh, Akrosh, Bazaar and Mandi etc. during this phase, the media had a role in it too! They caught the nerve of people and hordes of writings were available on such cinema and that was the end of your first stint with success. To make things easy for press, it coincided with your accident on the sets of coolie which had put you out of action for nearly quite a big time. On your return, you were never the same Amitabh Bachchan which we all knew. On top of that the kind of movies which you did especially the new ones came cropper. I can tell you now that I could not stand movies like Ganga Jamuna Sarasawati, Aaj Ka Arjun, Jadugar and Toofan. Maybe more than anything else you had lost the charisma that you possessed. The kind of expression that your face had before the accident was now almost absent, maybe the drugs and long hospitalization were responsible for all this. In the post accident times I think coolie was a hit more for the reason that people wanted to see the scene where you got injured than for the mere merit of the movie! I had not seen the movie in theatre and saw it much later maybe on Television. The decline was very obvious and you announced your sabbatical got into politics in between after the death of Mrs. G and left the politics with some sort of scar or blot, whether true or false, by being named in the Bofors scandal. I would now believe you that you were not directly involved and you were made a scapegoat by the then set of politicians from opposition as well as ruling. But you probably never realized that your leaving the politics strengthened their case and Media was just waiting for these opportunities to kill the goose.
Then followed your launching of ABCL, I had voiced my opinion that one should not make movies that glorify dacoits. I had a very limited circle so I probably could not have had any possible impact on your success or failure. Then came the pageant show after the initial success of Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai’s at world level that you invested to take upon hosting and organizing the show almost single handedly. I think this was outside your domain and probably you had no first hand knowledge of running something of that order as well as you should have known! I would not blame Media for the failure of Bangalore chapter. It did land you in greater troubles as you would probably know it better than anyone of us. I had suggested the launching of Amitabh Bachchan’s Complex of Libraries and that was the first time I had just had begun my first website with angelfire. (http://www.angelfire.com/ab/abhayasharma). I had voiced my opinion publicly on this website other than handing over the printed copy to the sentry at Prateeksha to this effect. It was the first time that I had stopped over at your bungalow. There, I had also mentioned about an Indian Heritage section where one of the contributor could have been your own father the great Dr. Bachchan. I am not here to register it as a complaint or try to establish some connectivity.
There was only one second time I tried to get in touch with you when my younger brother’s family was here on May 25, 2006, on our way back from Juhu Beach in the afternoon, I did try to make inroads to meet you, it was embarrassing to fail in front of the two young boys (sons of my younger brother) and my own son Amrit, who was only 7. In fact Amrit was in real tantrums on not being allowed and would not move without having met you! He had thrown his towel (that he was holding) in anger.
I had once killed my strong desire to be there on 19th January 2003! Knowing it was impossible to wish my bigger hero his first and last farewell. That I believe was out of fear, to be honest, I knew there was not much point in meeting him now when he was not alive! Yet I strongly wanted to pay my homage but could only send a fax of a poem in his honour!
Oh! Brother, I think I am loosing the track, I wanted to make you realize that Media indeed is powerful, it is not always and not everyday that they get to take you by the scruff, not easy for some one of your stature, that they do try to teach a lesson or two of protest and exhibit their power.
The best way would be to join hands with them and let them have your point of view. One should not have expectations that they will improve so easily still there is no harm in giving it your best shot. They (Media) would rather love to remain uninformed of your side of the story to sell their piece (manifestation) of work. Sometimes it may be kind in nature, at times it can be neutral yet there could be times when it could hurt and hit below the belt. There will be thousands and millions reading it as it has something about the man who at one time had a label of one man industry, someone who ruled the Hindi Cinema like no one else could, a man of high values, intellect and integrity.
It is in this respect that I had requested you to take up to television in India. One can improve the system by being a part of it and not by watching from outside. I know Television is a hugely powerful medium that can make or break nations. It is up to us in what we are interested or where do we go from here! Do we walk forward or we continue our dilly-dallying approach to use something as powerful as Television! I know you commanded lot of respect in the past during the two different times that you anchored Kaun Banega Crorepati. You can do it again with Celebrities and more professional programs. If Prabhu Chawla, Karan Johar and Karan Thapar can be successful you too could impress your point upon the junta! It could take the country ahead and on to the path of success!
I wish I had some poetry to incorporate that could be apt for the present situation. I feel Main Haar Nahi Manunga …(jpeg) could describe your action with media and journalists. But I would rather put Viron Ki Bhanti here and keep both in the copy of this blog on my website!
Abhaya Sharma, 22nd August 2008, 00.15 Hrs.
Post Script: This blog has basically been written after announcement of my blog on day 119 as the last blog. The credit must go to my very recent yet very dear friend Reshmi Philip. She made me write by asking to do so whenever I felt I had something to share. I think the observations here could help you and fellow bloggers to be able to know me a little better. I treat you as an elder brother, a well meaning younger brother can not keep away for too long from someone who is actually a world figure. I am very thankful to the kind words of Reshmi about me on that last blog. I almost cried for the happiness she gave me that day! This blog is sincerely dedicated to her and I wish her all success in meeting you at the show at London! My own younger sister Rajyashree Sharma, who works in the field of nuclear medicine in London, would in all probability not have time to attend! It is OK.
BEST WISHES FOR GREAT SUCCESS DURING THE EUROPEAN LEG OF THE UNFORGETTABLE!

Hi Sir,
This is great news and am praying I get lucky to get a reply from you
I am amazed at the way you have a strict regime of workouts and so many meetings and work and you go on and on and on. My dad who is the same age as yourself is similar - he also keeps busy and works like he has never heard of Retirement. I have taken you both as my role models and am ensuring that I can follow your way of living.
I would again request you to please write books on your grand life with experiences of success and failures for us to learn from and live better.
I just read an article that you have taken up a noble cause of providing Electricity/Solar Lamps to 100 or more Villages around the world, this is really great, please do let us know how do we volunteer to be a part of your noble cause.
Thanks for being a great role model.
Take care

Hello amitji
how are you n how you doing? read your blogs. and i think you did perfectly right. mistakes of these journalists should be shown publicly or else they will keep repeating it and your fans would be unnecessarily in wrong impression. dont worry about the hatred, controversis because you flashed on their mistake, i m sure your fans would understand you.
when are you coming back? do once have your concert at pune too i want to see live how it feels when all you guys tap your feet on stage. i cant go out of india or at far away places from pune, dad wont allow me to but i assure you when you will perform at pune, i will sure be there.and if you really perform dont forget the song ‘ sara zamana’ to dance on. i last time saw you when you came to pune for poetry recitation. that too a glimpse cause you were in your car.but i tell you that feeling was great, n i told all my friends that i saw you.
ok bye wont take your much time. see ya and best luck to all you guys for further concerts.

Hello Amit Ji
Pakhair Raghlay London ta (Welcome to London in Pashto) ! I’m waiting anxiously to see your Unforgettable Show on Sunday at O2. Last time I saw you was at the Premiere of The Last Lear in London last year in Leicester Square. You were sitting right behind me when we were watching the film. Your performance was brilliant in that film. How come that film is getting released so late (Sep) even though it premiered at many cities last year ?
I was wondering how come you never did a show for millions of your fans in Pakistan ? I’m sure you would really want to go there and also visit birthplace of your mom in Lyallpur (Faisalabad). Is there anyway The Unforgettable Tour could do a show in Pakistan ? I know some promoters there who will be interested to organise it. But will you come ?
Well I wish you all the very best and I hope to see you, Abhishek & Aishwarya in person. Have fun & take care
Love & Best Wishes

Mr. Bachchan, in the numerous cases of the media falsifying the facts (a couple of which you have reproduced), why not litigate? The risk of financial ruin is the biggest deterrent, and the media will be less callous in the future, once they see that even minor inaccuracies in their reporting will earn a firm and swift legal rebuke. Indian libel laws may not be as stringent as those in the US or the West, but there’s enough protection available, and after litigating a couple of times, you will find the media a lot more careful.
One things is great though - the blog gives a medium - a direct ‘blowhorn’ if you will, to one and all - including frequently targeted public personalities like yourself, to present your views directly to your readers.

Sir,
After reading that blog… I could hear the voice … “Rishtey mein hum tumhara baap lagthe hain… naam hai.. Shahenshah…” Well done, the blog is all yours and you are welcome to write whatever comes to your mind.
I still believe… your “unobtrusive pillow” gives you the calm and composure… so next time, carry that with you.. first you won’t miss home.. and second, at the end of the day… it will welcome you with all the pride of having the privelege to stay close to your brain !!!
In Australia, I recently read a news headline that stated… “Sally mclellan lied…”. This news came immediately after she won 110m hurdles silver medal. She wasn’t even remotely believed herself a chance of winning a medal and prior to olympics nobody knew about her and media didn’t even cover anything about her. I fell into the trap of reading that news as I got concerned whether she jeopardised retaining her medal after winning it. Then I found that the news was all about how she prepared for the olympics and the term “lie” had no significance to the news. There is something fundamentally journalism all over the world has adopted probably as best practice to generate audience involvement by deceptive tactics, it seems. I am not saying anything by this, but just thought of sharing that it is not only Indian media who adopts these kind of tactics. My concern here is, is this the worst phase of journalism or is it going to be worser than this in the future….
Anyways, hope you get some good rest before your next show…. Take care.
Cheers,
SaiRam.

Hi sir,
Thats a great news. Looking forward to hearing from you
Just read on rediff about the solar lantern initiative. The initiative is a great foot forward but don’t you thing doing it only in unforgettable tour won’t make much sense as the places where the shows are being held are in some of the most developed nations in the world. Such alternatives will appeal to people in countries like India more than the ‘developed’ nations. As you rightly pointed out that India has a large part of world which has no electricity.
I really appreciate the move and I strongly feel that if I can make some contribution in such good cause I would be more satisfied than doing the usual office work.
Wishing you luck for rest of the tour and life

Apologies for the longish reply.
Please feel free to delete.

1.Why does the media have an agenda against a particular group, family or individual.
Because they’re newsworthy, they are in the news, and column space has to be filled. Any news, positive or negative would be welcome. But negative news is preferred, it is meatier. Why is it meatier? Human tendency? I don’t know.
2.What prompts them to deny and deride any achievement that any member of the group, family, individual accomplishes.
Difficult to say. Part envy. Part reputation that the journo is a tough cookie, “ Not scared of Big B eitherâ€. The problem with reputations is that they have to be lived up to, so this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
4.What is the strategy behind the negative stories that start appearing, weeks before any event of importance is about to unfold in the life of the family group or individual.
Again, the rush to be first with the news? You don’t want to be viewed as a “nice guy†or “dheelaâ€, so layer on the criticism? If you’ve got great notice for 2 stories that were negative, you can’t suddenly change color, can you? As yet, other than one media group where the linkage between column centimeter and exposure is widely known, in other publications it is lack of oversight, controls and accountability. I do not see the “grand sinister design†idea in place here.
5.Is this an attempt to preempt or diffuse any semblance of glory or achievement that could possibly be emanating in their direction.
See 1 above.
6.Is the ideology of playing down or in most cases completely ignoring a success and highlighting even the slightest error to mammoth proportions a deliberate ploy.
Deliberate ploys need foresight and planning- hence no. Likh diya, chap gaya, nikal gaya, kaun poochega? How many celebrities will sue? How many will demand a published apology?
7.Why does this not apply to others.
Because they are not as newsworthy, or accomplished.
8 Is there something basically wrong with this group, family, individual.
No.
9.Are they in need of professionals to handle this issue.
In general- yes, it helps. Because there is ample scope of being misquoted, quoted out of context, or led to reply to questions that are seemingly innocent.
In your case- no- I have watched for some time now how diplomatically you have replied to the most inane questions.
10.Do they in today’s time and place need to employ or deploy agents, which manage public relati
