Acting is definitely a passion of mine- i feel it through my veins and things like feeling the emotion and the character comes naturally to me. I believe that we all act, like Shakespeare said “all of life is a stage”. He’s absolutely right- everywhere you look, people are acting happy, acting sad… You see little kids acting cute to the people around them. What true actors need to do is simply use that trait that all humans have (of course some have it more strong and others less) for whatever character they may be playing. For example, what I do is this. When I get into a character (let’s say Nasreen- in Sikandar), and I need to play a sad scene- I just close my eyes and try to feel a time when I was extremely sad in life- or something that would make me sad, and just allow that emotion come across in my face. And then I’m not me anymore- it’s not Ayesha who is feeling sad anymore- it’s Nasreen. All I need to do then is follow the script. And I just love it. I love acting! I definitely want to carry on acting- it’s like this, once you start you can never stop. At least for me

I can’t wait for Sikandar to release! I have not yet seen the film- I’m waiting to see it at the premiere. I did exactly the same with Black. I remember when Black released, all my friends- all of Auroville, actually, came to see it. Now when Sikandar is releasing, I’m going to invite all my friends, family, teachers to come see it in Pondicherry. It’s going to be great!!!
